Great old school Italian food. The white pie and cheese steaks are great if you’re in a hurry, but dinner is best bet

Cozy old fashion Italian restaurant with great ambiance!!! The food is Amazing, I can’t even understand people writing bad reviews about Peppy & Eddy’s… For those of you complaining you had to wait — you come here relax and unwind, not shove your food down your throat like its a fast food chain restaurant. The Service is always outstanding, can’t wait to go back!!!

My wife and I had heard many great things about P&E and met one of her friends from high school here for dinner. The atmosphere is very nice and the server was very polite. The young man busing tables was polite, but the constant asking if we were done with something while we were engaged in conversations was annoying. The food was average. The marinara that came on my plate was terrible. The salad was nice and the chickpeas were a nice compliment. Be cautioned that they charge to refill soda and the bathroom is downstairs if you have trouble with steps.

Best Marinara sauce in a 20mile radius. the Veal Parm is always a great Choice. The owners are great people and run a great restaurant! Never had a bad meal! A great, comfortable place to have great Italian food!

Good luck. Pasta fagoli was chicken broth and fusilli pasta. There was one lonely bean in the soup, really one bean. Salad was ice berg lettuce. Pasta sauce was the same sauce he uses for pizaa. Pure laziness. Terrible experience. There are more choices at an Italian deli than he had on his menu.

My family has been going here since the ‘40s. You’re not going to find another Italian restaurant like this. Get a martini or a Manhattan, order a Peppy’s pie for the table to start and then settle in for some homemade manicotti or any one of their delicious entrees. Finish with a few sips of Sambuca and consider yourself lucky for having found this local legend.

My father moved nearby and I wanted pizza on one of my visits. I walked in and apparently no one heard me coming in. I waited about 5 minutes for someone to finally realize I was there. Oh well. Got my pizza and salad and garlic knots. My garlic knots were not knots more like French loaf w garlic butter. My salad was real good with whatever dressing they use. And of course the pizza. I thought the sauce was great! Sweet and chunky w bits of tomato. Real traditional. I’d love to go again and sit down and order a nice plate of something. I’m sure it’ll be better service & the French loaf will be great for dipping.

We dined at Peppy & Eddy’s last night. Big mistake! Their parking lot was a sheet of ice for one thing. Guess they can’t afford calcium chloride. We were given a booth by the bar. The server was less than attentive and disappeared for long periods of time. The bar got crowded and very noisy with people yelling back and forth at eachother. The food was horrible. Salad was boring — a small bowl of iceburg lettuce with bottled dressing on top. Condiments on the table tasted unfresh. We were served their version of pasta fagioli which they have no clue on how real Italian pasta fagioli should look and taste like. This was a small cup of elbow macaroni in chicken broth with a few beans and tasteless. The final straw was their eggplant parmigiana special which included 4 stuffed rigatoni with sauce and cheese hiding them and no cheese to be found on the eggplant parmigiana. My husband ordered shrimp parmigiana and they brought out boiled shrimp covered with sauce and cheese. Again, no clue that you fry shrimp and then add the sauce and cheese. This meal was the biggest waste of money and we will NEVER return to this poor excuse for an Italian restaurant again. Save your money if you know what’s good for you. I would recommend Cosimo’s in Central Valley — delicious food and much better service!

Waited 45 minutes to an hour for GARLICBREAD. Then about another 45 minutes for our entrees. The waitress was kind but it was like pulling teeth to get her attention. Food was ok but very over priced for barely getting anything on your plate. Haven’t gone back since and don’t plan on it. If you are actually hungry go else where. Go around lunch time and you’ll get your dinner by dinner time. Don’t reccomend.

I’m in love with their white thin crust pizza! Take note, it’s got prosciutto and onions and I think, the combination of both makes it more tasty! If you decide to order a dinner entrée, please make sure your stomach is empty. They will feed you first with their salad, soup and all the side dishes. Damn it’s good! My husband and I love coming here! Everyone is nice and they make you feel at home!

This place sucks! I had the roast beef and mash, not really sure if you can mess that up but they did. The potatoes tasted instant. My wife had the pizza also bad it was runny and not good at all. When asked if we wanted a to go bag we lied and told them we were traveling.

My wife and I thought the food was a bit salty. We told the waitress. The owner came over and pretty much threw us out. She was nasty, then again, she has always been a bit«off». I mentioned pls get away from our table(and I am usually pretty kind), but this women was just plain nasty. Not going back, obviously.

I truly love Peppy & Eddy’s. It’s a wonderful experience from beginning to end. The food is terrific, the drinks perfect, and the Bocce Balls delicious – trust me! The ambiance is unique, to say the least. Without discouraging a visit, it’s not for everyone. Some folks won’t return. But those who do will come back again and again, as I do. I love the place, and whenever I’m in the area, I’m at Peppy & Eddy’s at least once.

My neighbor told me about this place — the best thin crust pizza around and the salad is delicious. Its off the beaten path and you pull up to a house — the owners live upstairs, kind of a cool place. Stop for pizza, its worth the trip!!!

So I got back to Peppy & Eddy’s again, and the results were kind of similiar to last time. First my friend got his house salad and pasta fagioli, of which the salad was once again okay and the soup was pretty good. We also got the marinated chickpeas(great), cole slaw(better than last time), bread(fresh out the oven), and sliced radish(not my cup of tea). Then we got an appetizer of scungili in hot sauce. The scungili was thinly sliced, had the right amount of chew, and was not rubbery as scungili can get. The sauce it was in was spicy and flavorful, and with the bread we had there was no sauce left when the dish was taken away. For my main I got a pizza, half white pie and half spinach. The crust was not of the fermented soft variety that I’m used to, but the overall product wasn’t terrible somehow. They used very little yeast, which left the crust with a brittle consistency. However, it was thin enough that this didn’t hurt the pie as much as it could’ve. Their white pie has mozzarella, proscuitto, and onions on it, while the spinach has spinach, garlic, and mozzarella. The white side of things was very salty, and they cooked the proscuitto leaving it without as much flavor. The spinach was a little overcooked, but I liked it better. These are easily rectifiable problems, and if they got someone who knows what to do; like I said the pizza was put together well, but it wasn’t what it could’ve been. My friend got the veal marsala this time, which overall wasn’t as good as the chicken last time. The mushrooms weren’t marinated as long this time, resulting in less flavor. The veal they used was the dark kind of veal, and the thicker layer of breading they used didn’t help things either. It wasn’t bad by any means, but it wasn’t as good as last time. One good thing though was that I finally got to see their pet raven; her name is Laura, and she even does tricks. Birds aside, I still like Peppy & Eddy’s and will be back regardless of the food, as the place is literally one of a kind.

Disaster of a dining experience. Upon entering, there was a sign«Please Wait To Be Seated» — apparently they don’t mean to wait near THAT sign, as there is a second entrance that someone will actually see you at. Bread was still a bit frozen in the middle. Pasta was edible, and maybe I’m spoiled from living in New Jersey, but was nothing to write home about. Save yourself.

Some girlfriends and I found this thanks to Unilocal when we were in search of dinner after some wine tastings in the area. The Italian really is top notch. We didn’t get the pizza, but all of the pasta dishes we had were amazing, and we loved the salad served family style w/their house dressing — delicious. The ambiance is truly unique. Perhaps it was the rain that night, but to us it was kind of a mix between the Psycho hotel and a cozy family place, if that makes any sense. Plus they keep a raven/crow in a cage outside the door that caws at you as you walk by — not kidding. It definitely has a haunted feel to it, but we thought it added to the charm, I would totally go back. It’s very well decorated inside. Despite all this haunted feeling stuff we got there a little late, but tons of families were just leaving. Again, maybe it was the rain, but maybe not? Delicious food, and such a unique place — plus it seems like half the staff is in on ownership of the place and can tell you all about it. Due to the creepiness factor you may not want to walk downstairs to the bathroom by yourself, but this place is definitely worth the trip.

My parents used to drag me to Peppy and Eddie’s as a kid. All my neighbors come here too. Now I love this place. It really has classic food you won’t find anywhere in town. The restaurant’s ambiance is very old school and sooo beautiful. It’s this old Victorian home that is awe inspiring and is worth the trip itself. Peppy’s food almost exclusively Italian and is delicious. If you ever shop at Woodbury Commons please leave the mall and visit Peppy and Eddie’s. The food isn’t light but you get a lot of amazing home cooked goodness for your money, including a huge salad, soup, bread included with generous meal portions.

I am not lying when I say that Peppy & Eddy’s is the best pizza on the planet. I’m not talking about the regular tomato sauce and cheese kind. I am talking the delicious White Pie kind. The kind that has crispy amazing thin slices of prosciutto, onions, cheese, and I think they butter the crust(not positive, because this recipe is a highly guarded secret). Every time we go back to NY, we must have the White Pie. Seriously. Or else I get upset. I love Peppy’s. I love how on busy nights, they only serve families that have been going there for generations(take my husband’s family, for example), and that when Peppy sees me, he says I look exactly like one of his granddaughters(Uhhh… he’s Italian. I’m Asian. I think he has really bad eyesight). I also love how the actual restaurant is like walking into someone’s home. Actually, it is someone’s home. It’s literally a house in a residential area. I love the waitresses(Celeste is sooo sweet!), and just… everything about this place. It’s going to be a sad, sad day when Peppy can’t cook anymore and I won’t be able to have the delicious, sweet crust and salty delicious goodness of White Pie. In fact, I am tempted to delete this review just so no one else knows about it. But it doesn’t matter anyway because YOUWON’T BESERVED! HAHA! :-P
