Anton’s has a big variety of items, I will give them that. But, their prices are insane. Make your own salad and barely put anything in it and it is 9 dollars. That’s just for a self service salad bar. They have good cookies/apples/candy/etc. but $$$. They also offer plants and flowers inside which seems kind of odd to have and then also carry food for lunches. Parking lot is an absolute nightmare. It is all potholes and finding a spot is next to impossible.

Aside from being very pricey, this is my absolute favorite store to shop for food at! Stocked full of fresh and unique, healthy items. They have an amazing salad bar and deli section(great chicken wraps and sandwiches to order) to die for! If I could afford to, I’d eat here daily.

I’m here for lunch probably 3 times a week for years, and I still haven’t found anything I don’t like. Hot food, salad bar, killer sandwiches, paninis, even tortas. My personal favorite is the chicken salad sandwich. The whole staff is great, but special shout out to Tom and Marco. Come here and come back often!

I went for the salad bar after reading a lot of good reviews. It was just ok. Nothing special.

Anton’s really confused me. From the outside it looks like a nursery where you would typically go to purchase herbs and soil. I think one section of the place is dedicated to gardening. Surprisingly, the interior houses a salad bar and boutique style grocery. Things are overpriced(well, compared to Texas anyway), so I wouldn’t do a big grocery run here. For a quick lunch or quick run this place is great. The salad bar offers hot and cold food items and is sold by the pound. Hot items include everything from chicken wings to soups. All of the items that I piled into a to-go container were phenomenal considering the price. I went toward the end of the day too(risky, I know), but everything was still tasty. If you are in a hurry, or becoming shaky from hunger this is a place to quickly get back in stride.

I’d say it was a secret(at least it used to be) but the crowds during busy periods suggest otherwise. The salad bar has — for many years — been regarded as one of the best on the North Shore. It’s always fresh and usually quite good, although depending on what time you get there, the selection many vary a little. The store itself is low-key but cute, with a small deli, nice produce and a reasonable amount of interesting food options. It’s definitely not a one-stop grocery and prices on some things are a bit high(salad bar remains reasonable after all these years, though), but you may wind up picking up a few things beyond the salad or hot bar food you intended to come in for. Service is very good. Parking, on the other hand, is awful — not Anton’s fault, but not only is it a small lot but people often go the wrong way. It’s best if you can get here before the busiest periods. Additionally, while Anton’s reviews often discuss the grocery aspect, they do have an outstanding garden center. Would be nice if they could somehow share parking with the mini mall next door.

Great Food! Great Employees! 99% of the customers are idiots! Yes I am the 1% and while I look forward to getting food here, I also cringe as I wonder what kind of idiot will I encounter today? I get it that the parking lot isn’t the biggest but I’ve never seen so many challenged people trying to park their cars. There are food lines for a reason but that doesn’t stop the dummies from just cutting in front as if they have no clue about proper queue manners. Other than being packed with the dumbest of the dumb, the food is great as well as the selection too.

I used to live a mile away from this place and rarely went there. Boy, am I sorry now! I really never went here because I thought it was too expensive. To be fair, it IS expensive. But what I do is go in and pick out a few items that look amazing. So, I go as a treat. The produce is so nice. In the cool months they have fantastic pomegranate seeds in a pint container. I add them to my yogurt in the morning and I am ready for the day! Any produce you get here is usually cut, washed, trimmed etc. So if you need to be fast in the kitchen, it helps. They also have a great salad bar, as you can tell from other reviews. If you go for salad bar at lunch, just be careful in the parking lot. It gets a bit CRAZY! I bought a small pie pumpkin here recently. It was nice and meaty. They also have these cute little flavored muffins. I brought a few flavors over to sis, and we tried them all with some coffee. The best ones were pistachio and cherry almond. But the banana was also good… let’s face it, you can’t go wrong with mini-muffins! I also have made it a ritual the past few years to go right before Christmas. They have the best stocking stuffer candy. It’s all a blast from the past! Flying saucers, dots on paper, turkish taffy, pop rocks, zots… you Boomers name it, they got it! See you next time… just be careful of the crazy drivers!

Can’t believe I didn’t come here sooner… but I know why… I thought this place was a garden center and more of a grocery store than a lunch spot with an AWESOME salad bar, soup bar, hot lunch area and deli!!! Plus, Anton’s is tucked away off of Skokie Blvd, a bit off the beaten path from where I normally travel. But after hearing so many good things I had to check it out. The salad bar is phenomenal. It reminds me a bit of Elegance and Meats’ salad bar but Anton’s is even larger and has more options. The soup looked amazing too and now that we are getting into the colder months I will def be back here to try some out. I made myself a salad and ordered an Italian panini sandwich… Salad was delicious and the honey mustard dressing was fantastic! The panini was also large, loaded with Italian meats and very filling. I can’t wait to try the hot lunches and soups. My only qualm about Anton’s is that it is a big tight in there around lunchtime when it gets crowded. The salad, hot lunch bar and deli are all the way at the back of the store, causing people to maneuver through the tiny grocery aisles to get to the back. I noticed it was pretty crowded in there by the time I left just after noon. I wonder if they freed up a bit more space for the lunch rush and maybe cut down on the amount of grocery items they carry, that perhaps they would attract larger crowds for the lunch rush. In any case, I will be back for more!!!

It really is true what they say about the salad bar, and at $ 5.99/ lb. no wonder the place was packed! My 5 star review is for the salad bar and clearly not for the prices of the other grocery store items like a bottle of Newman’s dressing for $ 6! Ouch! So, I’ve heard the salad bar is the secret lunch spot in the area. I live within walking distance to this place, and I’m honestly surprised that I haven’t been sooner. Mostly because I was afraid the prices here would blow my weekly food budget. Today is one of those salad kind of days with the weather being all hot and steamy. Nothing else sounded good, so I grabbed my hubby and we took a little stroll around the corner. As soon as we got to the door, people dressed in work attire were coming in and out of the doors like crazy… yes…something good was happening in this place. I just knew it had to be the salad bar. Oh, and yes it was! When you walk in, you won’t see the salad bar right away, because you have to get through the jam packed aisles to discover it in the back. And when I finally made my way back there and saw the $ 5.99/lb. sign, I was so relived and got in line with the all the others who have been much smarter than me for all these years. Unlike other salad bars I’ve been to, everything was well-stocked, fresh, and I didn’t have to pick through brown or white lettuce to get to the green stuff. They have a nice lettuce variety, and just about any topping you can imagine: — Beets — Beans — Olives — Carrots — Cheese — Boiled eggs — Peppers — green, red, yellow — Carrots — Antipasto Etc. So, I scooped and I scooped until I had enough for two people. When I got to the register, it rang up as only $ 5.82! My husband got a wrap and salad out of his portion and I kept it simple with just a sprinkling of olive oil. Heck yes! I could do this every day and be happy. Whoo hoo! Thanks Anton’s!

From your very first trip, you will fall in love. Scoff all you want, but I’m serious. Once the aroma of Anton’s fresh creations hits you, you’re suckered in to coming back for more. I stumbled upon this little gem back in my retail days after almost everyone at the Northbrook Court mall had raved about it for ages. I finally decided to give it a try and I cannot believe I waited so long to give it a try. Their hot bar is packed with seasonal eats and a diverse, new menu every day. Their cold bar is some of the freshest greens and popular salad additions you could ever dream of.(When I say their dressings are addictive like a drug, I am not kidding. I would consider using these as an illegal means to get my ranch fix on!) But what gets me every time is their sandwiches. The meat is cut to perfection, their cheese is so milky and melty you about melt yourself, and the bread… don’t get me started on the bread. An absolute MUST for lunch. I have to admit it can get a bit pricey but a lot less than you would pay at a sit-down restaurant but TWICE… nay, THREETIMES the quality! Bravo, Anton! Let’s do lunch sometime!

We order Caramel Apples each Halloween to distribute them for our employees at work. Anton’s apples are so ripe & delicious. My favorites are caramel with peanuts & caramel-white chocolate-cinnamon. I will have to add that their caramel is fricken awesome!!!

Nothing much to say… this place still reeks of awesomeness… I do like the flower section. which is huge and I believe you can arrange special order… arrangement. Was busy as hell when I went… this place makes a great flank steak sandwhich. When thisplace is busy… parking is easily full. More pics posted…

I had honestly forgotten about this place. I spent one summer in college working down the street and would go for soup, salad, or a sandwich. This is where my family was introduced to Boar’s Head deli products. We won’t buy anything else now! Anyway, my boyfriend’s house is literally 5 minutes from Anton’s, so I am constantly driving by. We stopped in the other day to pick up lunch on the way into the office… and I remembered, CHICKENCHILI. Oh lordy is this stuff good. I’ve been on a HUGE chili kick lately, and it is just so yummy. And, I feel like its so much better than beef, healthier, what have you. The deli and salad sections are also amazing, always clean, friendly staff. I wish my office was closer, but, a 10 minute drive up the Edens is worth it in the wintertime for chicken chili.

Visited here yesterday for the first time after reading all the reviews on Unilocal… Not exactly sure what all the fuss is about. It’s mostly an upscale nursery/Pier 1-esque/grocery with lots of specialty and novelty sweets and snacks. They have probably every nostalgic candy you remember from your grandmother’s house as a child. We came expecting a good selection of fruits to ranch, but there were mostly pre-cut up, pre-packaged fruits. Even the clementines were broken down into peeled slices in plastic containers! We didn’t actually even eat here for lunch, especially after looking at the prices, so I can’t speak to the food quality. I bet it’s pretty tasty… if you can afford it.

When you’re in a rush for a good sandwich, Anton’s is your savior. The crowds do flock to this place during lunch time, but they are fast and worth any wait you may encounter. Today, I had the daily special and LOVEDIT! First off, I love a crusty fresh baked Italian roll. The special for today was a generous amount of smoked turkey filled with the usual accompaniments but it was the seasoned oils that they drizzle on the ‘wich that make it memorable. You can opt for the awesome selection of sandwiches or opt for the special soups on hand(Which change from day to day) or pastas or salads! You name it, they make it… rolls, paninis, etc They treat you well here, they feed you well, and they leave you craving for more…

I’m here about once a week. Great salad bar with romaine and iceberg lettuce, two kinds of sliced chicken breast and pretty much any kind of vegetable and fruit. There are up to seven different soups along with a hot lunch by the pound. Serve yourself and go pay $$. They also make just about any kind of sandwich you like any way you like at the deli counter. If your lucky and like Salsa chicken, try it. I love it. Broasted chicken sold by the piece. Fresh baked breads that are hard to resist. There is a small grocery in the store with out of the way sauces and misc. food items not found at the chain grocers. The fresh picked corn on the cob is fantastic here. Can’t wait for summer. Nice people, and three checkout lines at lunch. No place to eat inside, so back to the office or in your car. Catering too.
