Review: One thing I love about Highland Park is the Mexican community. Their presence adds a wonderful diversity that many do not appreciate or take advantage of. One does not need to go to Highwood for Mexican food, drink or groceries as the strip of stores, restaurants and fruit stand on Green Bay, just north of Park, provides all you need for a local diversion.
Mike’s is a simple fruit and vege market that sells basic produce staples of a high quality at compelling prices. I feel compelled to support their business as an HP resident and they also have a wonderful selection of dry goods, olive oils, tortillas, chorizo, candies, dairy products and pretty much any dried chili pepper you need to create a fresh Mexican feast.
If you want to use a card, you must spend more than $ 10. Nice people, too. Great place to practice your espanol.
