Hess Express

My family got food poisioning from the Blimpie in tihs station. Extremely slow service.

I wish there was a way to easily figure out when gas will be cheaper on the east side of the Hudson River vs. the west side. As far as I can tell, the prices on the west side fluctuate faster — when prices are climbing they rise faster, but when prices are falling, they fall faster. These are reasons I frequently refer to gas comparison websites and smartphone apps.
As far as facilities at this Hess Express, there’s more than enough pumps and a nice Hess Express store, so from those standpoints, it’s a good service station.
But today, not only was their gas price higher than an equivalent Hess station on the east side of the Hudson, their gas was a full 10 cents a gallon more expensive than all the surrounding stations. And if you shop at Hess for rewards, such as with a gas card, even the Hess a few miles away on NY 299 closer to New Paltz is typically cheaper.
When gas prices are coming down, this station is a lot more competitive. In fact, at times it will actually be worth it to spend the $ 1.50 to cross the Mid-​Hudson Bridge to buy gas here when the prices are higher in Dutchess County.
