Everyone can make a sandwich, but not like this. This is performance art. Michael was helpful and friendly and everything about the food was perfect. Piled high, great bread, and excellent sides like slaw and salad. This is the sandwich you wish your mother made(read«non– gender specific guardian»).

I came here for lunch four times in eight days. I had a job close by and it quickly became my default lunch stop. I love reubens and theirs was excellent. At first I was overwhelmed by their huge menu, but every time I came here, I just got the same thing — #31 reuben. I’d say maybe don’t bother with anything else. Not because I tried anything else but because the reub is so good. The sandwich is huge, piled with layers and layers of corned beef. I usually get my sandwiches on white, but the rye here wasn’t too rye-ish, and I could barely tell that it was. It was moist and chewy and buttered just enough for a little crisp on the outside, with a harder crust that made it easy to hold. My only complaint would be that I wish they melted the cheese more, but honestly didn’t take away that much from it. The people who worked here were the same two people every time and they were both super friendly and helpful, and didn’t seem to mind when people had annoying complicated orders. I love this place and wish I lived closer. Maybe I’ll be back again next year!

Wanted to check this place out after the great reviews here, but appears they closed early?! Website says they are open till 4pm; arrived by 3:15 and the door was locked. No answer when we called. A little disappointing after driving nearly 20 min.

This place is awesome. Authentic, delicious, and they always make you feel like family. Every time I walk in the door I am greeted warmly and the owner already knows my order. Food is consistently fresh and so damn tasty. I used to have to go to Southfield or WB for good deli… but not anymore!!! Schwartz is a Milford(Highland) gem and I hope they are here for a long long time!

My office just recently moved to downtown Milford, I have been here twice now got the #1 both times corned beef & cole slaw with provolone instead of swiss on rye YUM!!! I’m very picky about corned beef as you so very rarely find good corned beef. I don’t normally spend $ 10 on lunch but this will be my occasional splurge for sure! It’s such a big sandwich I can usually eat it twice or split it with my husband. I also love that they have faygo pop.

Delicious sandwich! I had the #1 — corned beef with cole slaw and swiss on rye. The bread was warm and the sandwich was huge. I lived in NYC for a few years and love a genuine and authentic deli. I asked for a Diet Coke and got a can. I will look for fountain soda next time since I eat ice by the pound. Ha. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I can hardly wait to return and try other sandwiches or a salad. I noticed Matzo Ball soup on the menu. Looking forward to trying the Matzo Ball soup and since I love tuna, I’ll give it a try too. The parking area is generous even though they share the strip mall with other businesses. It is on the west side of Milford Road. Worth the trip.

OMG are you kidding me with this!!! Unreal, just top notch. I had this placed bookmarked for a while, and finally got to come in. Boy did I regret waiting so long. Had the #3 Pastrami, slaw, russian, swiss, on rye. I subbed in a Onion Roll, and asked for it grilled. Extra russian on the side. One bite, and I stood up and ordered another to go. The slaw was crisp, not too creamy and not to tangy. His russian dressing is addictive, and thick. Loved the old and new dill, quality. Homemade chicken noodle soup was perfection. Chunks of shredded tender chicken that was clearly made with care. Well balance broth, not overly salty. First time in a long time I did a sandwich /soup combo as it’s not usually my thing and I was so happy. I also got a #1 to go, which is corned beef, slaw, russian, on rye. I’m usually a Pastrami guy all day, I love it and it’s great here, but the corned beef was even better. The corned beef flavor lingered in the back of your mouth even after the falvor of swiss, slaw, and russian faded away. I’ve had Sy Ginsberg’s corned beef before, but never in sandwich form. Mother of god. For those not in the know Sy Ginsberg’s corned beef is from United Meat and Deli out of Detroit, it is ridiculously good. Schwartz’s is all Detroit /Michigan, serving up Faygo products, better made potato chips, Detroit meats, and bread from Southfield’s BakeStation. Here’s a clip from their website «Schwartz’s Delicatessen was formed 6 yrs ago when Michael Schwartz learned from leading Deli man and uncle of the world famous Bread Baskets, Ron Foreman. He taught him every everything, from cooking our famous mouth watering Corned Beef by Sy Ginsberg to hand slicing every loaf of fresh out of the oven double baked Jewish Rye. Michael then went on to open his first delicatessen in Lansing. It was a hit right off the bat in the heart of collage town. He then moved to his home town in Milford where we settled today.» I literally can not stop thinking about the next time I get to eat here.

Great food, but my name is not«Honey» and my husband is not«Buddy»! Please address your customers appropriately or we will stop coming in. Also, change the hours for Saturday on the store window. We came over to buy dinner and found out you were closed?

Great sandwiches, but skip the side dishes. Love deli’s! So happy that there is one in the area. Sandwiches are all mostly huge and very fresh with lots of options. I love lox on a bagel so I was a little disappointed for the price how small it ended up being. The bagel was a small, overly chewy, multi-grain. Not the best choice to pair with cream cheese and salmon. Bigger bagel please! My family also eats coleslaw by the pound and were so disappointed with how BLAND it is. The potato salad too. I bought them a couple times just to make sure it wasn’t a random batch. I just can’t believe for how well they do things with the sandwiches that the owners tasted this coleslaw and thought it was a winner. Colasanti’s has a way better slaw, not the greatest but if I have to choose…

Best corned beef this side on Manhattan. Sliced to order in front of you. This place opened right about the time we moved to the area and we have loved it. There are 4 – 5 options all around for sandwiches, etc but this place has them all beat. It has a nice fast paced feel to it but not rushed. These guys do it right.

stopped in here for lunch today, place is clean and the owner is very nice. The food was not up to par. The corned beef quality in itself is nice, they get their products from United meat company. The corned beef in a sandwich was very overcooked and dry. My best guess is that the reason for this is they were slow and i feel like the beef was cooked days before… i guess what really got to me is that the owner himself made the sandwich out of corned beef which he knew wasn’t the best or cooked fresh. If it was a worker i would somewhat understand but i expect more from owner of the actual place.
