Sharkey’s Cuts for Kids

Adorable place! Super friendly staff who were so sweet to my 15 month old. I didn’t do the 1^st haircut combo because I only wanted her bangs cut but she was nice enough to bag up the hair for me. She tried to do her nails because that’s part of the experience an did a cute little hairdo with glitter spray on it, which is part of the experience as well. I’m really glad I came here. I paid 15 for all this attention.

My children love getting their hair cuts here! The car chairs and the video games would be the best part of the experience!

Awesome service and friendly staff. Had my daughter’s first hair cut and though she cried her heart out, the stylist was very understanding and patient making it a good experience.

Absolutely LOVE this place! I have never been disappointed with a haircut for our daughter and the patience they have is unbelievable! Kids get to choose a car to sit in, watch a movie, get their nails painted, glitter hairspray, sucker, ring, balloon and all for about $ 20!
This place absolutely rocks. Be sure to have an appointment, because they are ALWAYS booked with zero time for walk ins.

My daughter enjoyed her hair cut on a princess car and loved the nail paint done on her nails in the end! Amazing place for kids!

I love this place for my son’s haircuts. He has special needs and has always hated getting his hair cut until we came here. He loves playing video games and they help distract him. His cuts have always come out so nice and we try to book with Brianna as she is super patient with him!

My son loves getting his hair cut (sitting in a cool car, watching a movie or show we don’t have at home, balloons, suckers, etc.) and when I tell him were going to Sharkey’s, he squeals. Blakelee did a FANTASTIC job with both my boys yesterday – even the little one who was fussy and crying because he didn’t feel well. She was patient, kind, sweet and happy. While the little girls get the extra salon treatment, this place is very boy friendly and I don’t think we’ll go anywhere else unless we have to.

If I could give this place 10 stars, I would. Very friendly employees. My son doesn’t like getting his hair cut, and they were very accommodating. We drove from Castle Rock. It’s worth it. Nice location, too.

Blakely was great with my three year old little girl. She cut her hair and then did a cute little braid. Afterwards, she painted her nails. This place is fantastic with kids. It’s a great experience as a parent. They get you in and out (we did have an appointment)!

I’m on the fence about how to rate this place. My daughter’s bang trim was kind of a hack job – I did better attempting it myself after watching a few YouTube videos. (They cut her bangs wet, which I thought was a hairdressing sin, and they are too short and uneven.) But they were well staffed, friendly, efficient, clean, and it included a braid, glitter hair spray, nail painting, a ring, a ballon, and a lollipop! My daughter just loved it. I don’t think I’d come back, but she may be ruined for future salon experiences!

Love this place!!! Unilocalers, you did not steer me wrong. Very cute place. Staffs know how to handle kids moving around. My daughter just got her first haircut here. First of many, we aren’t going anywhere else! Ask for Teresa, she is great. Good idea to get an appointment ahead of time, but not too hard to get in. I just called the night before.

This place is absolutely adorable! They are very easy to get appointments or we’ve been able to walk in sometimes during a last minute need. The staff is extremely friendly and is great with our toddler and makes sure she gets a nice looking cut. The facility is extremely child friendly and there’s a bunch of things to keep kids occupied during the appointment. We will absolutely be coming back for all of our kiddos hair needs.

My wife and I are always happy with the service and treatment our son receives during each visit. Sharkey’s always honors our scheduled appointment time and choice of themed seating. The staff is always accommodating too. The owner always appears to be present during each of our visits, which for a franchise is a nice thing to see. The seating area is comfortable for waiting. Sharkey’s carries excellent, high quality hair products too. If our son has no complaints, all is good at Sharkey’s.

Nice staff but one of the poorest cuts ever. If you’d like something other than short or scalped for your son, try a different salon.

I took my 9 month old son in for his first haircut and we had a wonderful experience. They were able to fit me in on a busy day and when we arrived, the place was clean and very accommodating to children. I opted to have my son sit on my lap for his cut and the stylist worked around me very well. She allowed us to take pictures during the cut and was so efficient that I immediately was grateful I didn’t try to do it myself. I choose to have the First Hair Cut package and got a little certificate and picture. After we were done, I asked if my son could sit in one of the cars for some pictures and they happily allowed us to do so. I would absolutely take him back there.

My son just turned one and had his first haircut. Pam was his stylist. She works quickly and did a great job. It can’t be easy cutting hair on a moving baby so I’ve got to give her props. Great job Pam!
Also, my son loves cars so I think it helped cutting his hair in a racecar :)

I took my 9 yr old girl here for a haircut. They had a school fundraiser. She had a great time. The price was great for a wash, cut, blow dry, nails painted and braid. She got a ring, glitter in her hair and a balloon. The back room for party’s was amazing. They do custom braids and up dos too. They had really cute jewelry and hair stuff. Also, this is a great place for a babies haircut. They have a first haircut special and there were parents in there with family getting pictures. It was so cute to watch. We will go again! My daughter felt so pampered and left with a huge smile!

The hair stylist was pretty good, gave our daughter a hair cut that we could have got at cost cutters. The girl left our daughter’s hair soaking wet, it’s 30 degrees outside! I asked the manager if I could blow dry her hair. He was very rude, «um, okay.» When we left he was just as rude. Not a place I would return to or recommend.

One of the best qualities of young kids is that they are honest and decide by instinct. So when my 3 year old was instantly comfortable when we arrived at Sharkey’s, I knew we were at the right place for her first haircut! We actually were taking our 1 year old for his first haircut in the same visit, so it was that much more important that we went to a good place.
Sharkey’s does a great job for first haircuts! My daughter started with a shampoo and condition, got her haircut and then even a stylish braid after. But it wasn’t over, she also got to get her nails painted in their cool girls party room, which is a room in the back of the store which can be rented out to have a girls salon party.
It was then my 1 year old son’s turn for his first haircut. It definitely helps that the kids sit in toy «cars» vs regular seats but I give more credit to the stylist (Teresa) because as I mentioned before, young kids use their instincts to determine if they like someone, especially someone moving a sharp object near their face. Both of my kids were immediately comfortable with Teresa!
During our visit, my wife and I got to meet the owner, Rick. He was very personable and we chatted about his background and some of the similar places we have lived. I definitely admire business owners who actually spend time and work in their place of business.
Lastly, they gave both of our kids first haircut certificates along with a photo of them and locks of their first cut hair. A first haircut is a significant event and Sharkey’s does an excellent job at making it special!

I brought my 13 month in for his very first haircut on Saturday. They immediately put him in the race car chair to get him acclimated to it. He was so engaged throughout the entire haircut. I didn’t get our stylists’ name, but she did a great job! She was the blond one, if that helps at all? My son moved his head a lot, and I’m sure they are used to it, but she was able to get the cut nice and straight. She was very patient with him (and me). After my sons haircut, he received a very cool shark tattoo and a balloon (he’s too young for a sucker). Then we received a picture, certificate, and a bag with his baby hair in it.
What a fantastic experience we had! I would definitely recommend to a friend/​family. Thank you for taking such great care of my son!
