This is a place for«Real People», if you’re a Yuppy or Entitled… then, go to some place where the food is «Art». The food here is really good, the Management and Staff are professional and courteous… if you are courteous to them! Now, I have seen some whinny and complainative customers, that want an experience that simply is not going to happen, tough shitzki!!! I Love the Car Show and outside dinning… right on Sheridan Rd. I like that they respect my Constitutional Rights too, unlike some of the uppity places in Highland Park. BTW, the Pizza is GREAT!

Great pizza and trivia with Brad on Monday nights! Quality of service can be a little spotty at times but they’re making a solid effort.

Food was good, but terrible service. Don’t label something as a starter if it’s going to come out 15 minutes after my meal. Oh, I also had to work to prove I paid for said starter. Watch out for how they pour your glass of wine as well, $ 6 for 3 oz. not worth it. I attempted to speak with management over bad service and was told«it happens, we are busy». Being busy isn’t my problem, staff appropriately.

We have been coming here for years. The food is always hot and fresh. Staff is always friendly. Whether you’re ordering pizza, sandwiches or salads, you will not be disappointed. Buffo’s beer in a frosty mug hits the spot, too!

1st impression. I just had to wash my hands and this men’s bathroom door is blocked by a video game. You can only open it to 50 degrees. Does this place get inspected? Pizza was quick and average. Please just use the beer brand name for your drinks. Buffo beer is old style? Gimmicky.

Continues to be our favorite and it is so easy to relax there. Best pizza, salads and sports too

Buffo’s has been in the neighborhood for many years, with good reason! I love the supreme pizza with mushrooms, peppers, onions, and sausage. Even when I lived out of town, every time I returned, I made the obligatory Buffo’s run.

This place an excellent to watch football or any sporting event. They have around 6 t.v.s in the front room and 20 different hot sauces for your wings. I recommend the crispy wings as i feel its easier to add your own hot sauces.

0 stars if possible. Just went there and was greeted by a rude woman at the front. Her response to our question about how long it’d be to sit down was«For what?» Then the owner told us the restaurant was full, made us wait, and never came back. We then asked how the ordering process worked and the woman responded in a rude tone and proceeded to laugh. Without a doubt we walked out and never going back.

It’s not like my family will stop coming here even though Judy’s Pizza is our«go-to» but this place is right down the road and therefore convenient. They seriously need to up their game though in that any and everything they cook in the fryer comes out tasting the same, i.e. like fish. My advice… Change the oil or at the very least use more than ONE oil to fry with.

I don’t get why this place has such good ratings, the food was pretty crappy. I had the Cajun grilled chicken sandwich, which wasn’t too bad(but still not great or even very good) and my husband got the Italian beef which was sub par at best. The beef was all little pieces it was totally dry and not served with giardiniera. Completely unacceptable in the Chicagoland area where Italian beef is a specialty. We shared the cheese chili fries and the fries weren’t cooked enough, there was barely cheese on it and the chili just wasn’t very good and I’m pretty sure it was from a can. My husband was really annoyed by getting our own napkins and silverware. Not going back here. This isn’t even good drunk food. Highwood is full of great restaurants, no need to waste your time here, ever.

order and sit down with a number and be served — everyone with a family at highwood pumpkin fest appeared to choose buffo’s for a dinner. This is the it restaurant because it has all of the usual sandwiches, burgers, hot dogs and of course their pizza and pasta options. The kids meals are $ 4.25 generally comes with fries(hamburger, hotdog, chicken tenders, mac n cheese, grilled cheese are some of the options). All burgers are flame grilled, and the kids size buger was honestly large enough to be for a light earing adult. Ita served on good bun that holds up. Had it with the works. The wait for a thin crust pizza was 30mins so we opted for something faster ie burger, pasta and fried mushrooms. All were standard looking. Fettuccine Alfredo lacked any defined flavor had to add parmasean cheese in abundance to make it somewhat flavorful. Garlic bread was forgettable. Burger was thin, but was good with all the toppings that were added. Napkins and utensils are by the cash registers so help yourself to that, as there is nothing at the tables. I’d come back next time for pizza which did look yummy with a crispy thin.(probably order right when we park our car to eliminate some of the wait time). Should be plenty of seating for any family. A bit tight on space though since its cramped so avoid strollers and additional gear. TVs throughout the place great for watching sports.

I have passed this place many, many times over the years and never stopped in. Came here with a few friends yesterday. Waited for a few minutes at the counter while the employees stood talking to the manager, even after having made eye contact but not having acknowledged our presence(4 people) The experience overall was completely«meh», service poor and food good. Would I give them a second try if I was in the area? Don’t think so. Ordered a pizza and then we sat down. It was in a tight corner table and when I asked if we could move to a different area of the restaurant that had bigger tables, a guy who I’m assuming is the manager literally says to me «No, you’re going to stay here.» That was it. After that, he stood and yelled at one of his employees about something in view of customers on the customer side of the counter up front. Our server at one point was even arguing with the manager and walked away from him and out loud said«Jesus f*** christ. Highly professional. They bring you your pizza or what you ordered, but it’s on you to get up and get paper products, plates, condiments, spices and dressings. Oh. and beverages. So you’re paying what you’d pay at a decent sit-down pizza restaurant, for essentially a cafeteria type setting. The pizza was pretty good, can’t really complain there. Would I give them a second try if I was in the area? I don’t think so. Anyone who is willing to scream at and berate their employees within earshot and eyesight of the paying customers and isn’t willing to make accomodation for a group of people isn’t worth my money again.

Cardboard crust with bland, below average cheese. I’ve had better pizzas from local grocery stores.

This place is surprisingly large. It has a great hometown feel. My Buffo’s special pizza — sausage, green peppers, mushrooms — was delicious! The crust is surprisingly crunchy for being so thick. The sweet potato shoestring fries were the perfect app.

I had great memories of this place but recently went for lunch and was very turned off by the frozen food that was heated in the kitchen. The pizza isn’t good and the wings/onion rings were a huge disappointment. Maybe the most disturbing aspect was the curmudgeonly owner/manager that couldn’t be bothered to take our order and later, openly berated an employee, in a manner that appeared he was putting on a show for his customers. I’d eat at one of the many competing restaurants in Highland Park, before giving this clown your business. Good luck, Buffo.

I’ve been frequenting this establishment since I was a child. Great for families, has some little arcade games we always used to play. I love the owner, Lenny, and the establishment in general! As a true Chicago native and pizza lover, I can say with confidence, this is my favorite pizza place. Ever. Their pepperoni is out of this world. Thin crust is the way to go. If you’re a local make sure to pick up a buffo’s punch card to rack up discounts!

I’ve driven by this place dozens of times but never felt compelled to go in. So when the opportunity came up to try it out, I thought why the heck not? I was underwhelmed. Underwhelmed by the pizza, atmosphere and service. It felt like eating in a cafeteria. Just two rows of long tables. You order your pizza then wait for them to bring it to the table. But we had to ask for silverware. And napkins. And condiments. See a pattern? And the pizza was marginal. Completely acceptable but that was it. There are just too any pizza joints around to frequent this one. The one saving grace? The old school video games in the back.

A great gathering place for friends and family. It’s not gourmet pizza, and you have to ask for plates, and more napkins(maybe more than once), but the truth is there is something that makes me come back here. Is it tradition? Is it the fact that it feels so small town? Is it the fact that they have Pacman in the back? Pizza is reasonably priced here. Not a ton of pepperoni on top, but the truth is there is something old school about it. I love that you can get a pitcher of pop, which reminds me of being a kid at a local pizza parlor at birthday time. Did you know they have car shows here? It’s not on a regular basis, but if you’re lucky you’ll catch it. Again, leading to the fact that this place is about good old family fun time. Come for the gathering, don’t worry about the everything else. Just have fun!
