EATHERE. We had a party of 4 on a Sunday night, and the dining experience greatly exceeded our expectations! Our server was fantastic, the owner stopped by to chat, and the food and wine were exceptional. We had the empanadas(just okay), drunken mushrooms,(excellent) and skirt steak tacos(not sure what they were called on the menu, also excellent). Our mains included the salmon, Churrascos, Chuleta, and the Moro a la São Paulo. The Moro a la São Paulo is a must!!! We finished with the dulce de leche doughnuts and pear tart– both were delicious and homemade. I haven’t felt this well taken care of at a restaurant in a long time, and we eat out frequently in the ‘burbs and downtown. If this place was plopped down in Chicago the critics would be going nuts. A trip to Highwood to visit this little gem is worth it!

This the fourth time here! The food is the best I’ve had in Chicago! The service is amazing. One owner is at the front door and the other is in the kitchen. They card about everything and everyone here!

We had an outstanding New Year’s Eve dinner here last night. Delicious skirt steak for me and chicken breast for my date. Flan, based upon a recipe from the chef’s grandmother, was the best I have ever tasted. The service was attentive and friendly. Only disappointment was the crabcakes, which tasted like fish cakes, with little or no crab meat in evidence. So avoid those.

We went here last week for the first time. The atmosphere was ok, but the food and service were very good. The chimichurri sauce was amazing!

What a great restaurant for South American cuisine! We didn’t have reservations but were able to score a hi-top table(I would recommend making a reservation for weekends). They brought out complimentary plantain chips and green chili sauce — delicious! We got a couple drinks(basically white and red sangria) to sip on while we looked over the menu. Our server(who was amazing) suggested that we split some of the small plates in order to sample more dishes, and gave us some recommendations which lined up perfectly with the dishes we were eyeing. We ordered: Arepas Dona Ynes(shredded pork, shredded chicken), Gauchos(marinated asparagus wrapped in skirt steak), and Tostones De Verde with shrimp. Everything tasted absolutely amazing! The arepas were on point — the shredded pork was so flavorful, and the corn/cheese cake was the perfect base. I love plantains so I was dying over the tostones, I cannot wait to recreate this dish at home. We got the Besitos for dessert, it’s like a donut/beignet served with drizzled with chocolate sauce and served with vanilla ice cream. Although this was tasty, I did not find anything especially«South American» about them. For a last-second dinner find, my friend and I were extremely pleased with Longitud315! It’s a little pricey for a casual dinner, but a great place for a special occasion, a date, or a fancy night out!

My work had our Christmas party here 2 years ago. It was delicious — not ideal for a lot of people, as it’s kind of intimate and small inside. I think the food was phenomenal, the wine was delish and it is the perfect spot for date night! I’ll definitely make it back in there — and preferably around the holidays, the lights and décor is darling.

Longitud315 has been on my «To Try» list for a while. To be honest, many of the places lately simply disappoint. Some are all price and no flavor, others are just meh. NOTLONGITUD315! We went with a group of friends, and were seated at a nice table towards the back that could seat 8 of us. The place is small… like less than 15 tables small. The atmosphere is lively, though somewhat dimly lit. The décor is Latin American. The food is simply GREAT! If you have enough gall, you can just stuff your face with the complimentary plantain chips with chimichurri dip and not even eat any of the delicious dinner options. It is THATGOOD :) You could — but you should not. The appetizers are great! Loved the Empanadas(4 kinds), the pork belly was great, so were the stuffed mushrooms. The dinners were absolutely amazing! The skirt steaks were juicy and could be cut with a butter knife. The chicken was great. Everyone was happy! Not cheap($ 30-$ 50 pp) Definitely recommending this place for occasional outings. .

I was in a suburb of Chicago for a training Unilocaled a place to eat within a reasonable distance. This spot had great ratings so we decided to give it a shot. The restaurant itself is a cute little place with thoughtful décor. Service was great. Our waiter was very attentive and gave good recommendations. We ordered a few small plates and they were all great and very filling. The pork and chicken areas were delicious. I ordered 6 but would have been fine with 4 since we did order 4 other small plates. I’m not a fan or lamb chops but that was also seasoned and cooked perfectly. One thing that would be great is a recommended drink(wine or beer) with certain dishes since they did have a decent selection.

Great local restaurant with South American Fare. You have to try the mussels and assorted empanadas. Reasonably priced with very good service. Great for two or more.

I have mixed feelings about this place. I still give it the«A-OK» because all in all, it’s a nice option on the north shore. As others have said, you get a lukewarm reception when you walk in. There is always something that isn’t quite right. For example, this time the hostess said we could sit wherever we wanted, but then when we picked the table, she looked on her list and said it was reserved. The restaurant has some uncomfortable tables due to the space they are in. Thankfully, we were not seated at one of those. I do love the food. They serve plantains with this to die for chimichurri sauce when you sit down. They also serve a nice portion of wine for $ 8. I had a pisco sour with was good. For apps, they have these corn pancakes with various toppings. Finger licking good. I had salmon for my entrée.($ 28) It was perfectly cooked and spicy. Hubby had the porkchop.(~$ 28) He thinks it was a bit too tough. Our friends had a steak small plate, and a chicken dish. The steak looked wonderful, and our friend raved about the preparation. I think the entrees are a bit over priced though. I also like the yuca potato-like sides and the asparagus that came with my salmon. The spices they use are just to my liking. Hubby also enjoyed his rice and beans side. Our food took a little long to get to us. They said they were down one server that night. I would still go back again because I think the food is unique and good. SO when I’m in the mood for these latin dishes, it’s a nice convenient place for us.

I came here on a Saturday evening with a couple of friends and left thinking it was an okay experience. I heard they used to be byob and that is no longer the case in case you were curious. The atmosphere is trendy and has a city vibe in the suburbs because it’s a little dark, with music playing. We got sat at a nice table that was pretty big so we had a spacious meal I would think and it wasn’t overly loud so they get a start for that. Now onto everything else. Our server seemed new and wasn’t too familiar with the menu, but that’s okay, since that is what Unilocal is for. The complimentary plantain chips were so so, much better at Tanta in River North so that was kind of disappointing since I was expecting those. Also, their dipping sauce for them was also eh. We got some empanadas to start with and they were so so, a little thick on the breading and the flavors just weren’t there for us. We also ordered the white sangria and it was also okay. The one appetizer we did get were these toasted things with pork on top and some pickled veggies, now that was the only thing that I actually enjoyed and kind of wanted more of. For our main entrée my husband and I shared the meat plate that they are known for which has the skirt steak, the chicken, the sausages, the plantains and some potatoes. Besides the steak, nothing stood out and even the steak I felt was on the chewy side. The fried plantains which I normally love, were not sweet like I like them so that was also eh. I thought that the saving grace would be dessert so we got their flan and it was also bland. I felt like overall, the flavors of this place just weren’t top knotch and this is a latin place, they are known for flavor. I felt like I spent a pretty penny, was left full, but not satisfied. Besides those little crispy appetizer dough things, nothing really did it for me. I don’t think I’ll be back. They do have a nice atmosphere and the people working here seem nice but that’s about it for me. Sorry Longitud, you guys fell short for me.

The owner was super nice, came to our table, chatted and really cared about what we thought. Food was good, everything had a unique taste but some tapas were a bit too heavy feeling. Definitely get the stuffed mushrooms! We ordered pretty much everything on the menu along with dessert which was just ok. Would skip dessert next time. Great location and they have a table for 2 or 4 outside on the street, which is where we sat.

Had a gorgeous date and was looking forward to trying this lace that was highly rated. Very disappointed. Drunken mushrooms were spectacular ! Must try them. The shrimp paerta was weak and the pork belly was fried fat. Overpriced drinks and serv or that was mediocre. It may be my pet peeve but when I am eating I do not need a busboy asking to take away half eaten plates, again and again. $ 100+ for two, below average food, and one drink each. Two thumbs down. Many better options nearby.

If it were not because of our slanted table due to slanted floor, and wobbling table, and that our utensils kept dropping off the table, it would be a 5 star! Service is casual. Semi attentive. Quaint little place. Food came out quick. We were in n out within an hour including a complimentary birthday flan. It was a 9pm reservation, they have slowed down for the night, I’m sure they were much hectic in the early hours. Not a South American food connoisseur but I want to say nothing tastes not good, so everything we had was good. In my opinion, I felt like its intentionally made that the heavily seasoned protein to be served with the lightly almost no seasoned sides, such as the mushroom or tapioca potato. Overall it was well blended and delicious! The skirt steak appetizer with the fried tapioca potato was good. Pork belly can be skipped. It’s fried n really hard. The salad it’s served with made up for it. We also tried the heart skewer which was not bad. The skirt steak entrée stuffed with mushroom was huge, must be shared by 3 – 4 or more. Mushroom with the toast was not bad, but not wowing, too buttery, in my opinion. Lots of meat, they have seafood which we didn’t try. I do recommend this place.

I have to admit… our first experience was not a good one. It was loud and felt ignored by our server because there was a 50th birthday group that took up half of the already small restaurant and half of the wait staff along with it. But at the urging of a friend who’s husband is Argentinian and claimed that they are as close to his mom’s cooking, well, we decided to give it another shot. And so glad we did! From the light and non-greasy plantains and AHMAAZZZING chimichurri sauce you dip it in, we knew that it was going to be a much better experience. Plus, they carry my favorite Catena Malbec! Must try the chargrilled mussels… OMG. Food orgasm. I could eat that everyday. The various empanadas are great too. If you like heat, test your fiery taste buds with the stuffed fresh jalepenos. And be sure water is nearby! Good and HOT! For our main meal, my husband had some shredded steak dish that was topped with a fried egg(you had me at «fried egg») served with perfectly cooked plaintains and rice. He devoured it. He had intended to get the $ 50 Gaucho steak with chimichurri sauce because he remembered it being very good, but was very satisfied with his delicious choice. I honestly don’t remember what I ordered our first time there, so I ordered the Chef Tony’s Signature Dish, Churrascos. I wasn’t in the mood for chicken, so I only picked at that, but the flank steak(cooked medium rare) and the Brazilian sausages were heaven in my mouth. For dessert, we shared a Columbian Flan, which is cooked very similarly to Filipino flan which I actually prefer over the lighter version that Mexicans make. It was creamy, smooth, thicker texture and perfectly, not overly, sweet. Can’t wait to go back and keep trying everything on the menu! Be sure to make a reservation ahead of time! Enjoy!

If you read my reviews, you know that a special restaurant in the Florida Keys set the standard for me regarding a five-star restaurant review. Longitude315 met that standard and I couldn’t be happier that it’s five minutes from my house! The service, the bartender, the hostess, the waiter, the chef/owner, and co-owner, set the vibe just perfectly as we gratefully met them all throughout our dining experience. Before I get to a review about the food, which is why we all go out to eat anyways, I must also point out some details that did not go unnoticed during our visit. When restaurant owners go the extra mile and spend money on reducing interior noise, I take notice. Several thousand dollars must’ve been spent on acoustic panels and proper placement of décor to reduce interior noise and it works beautifully. Even in a full and busy Saturday night restaurant, you can carry on a comfortable conversation without the need to shout. Another amazing addition to the«behind the scenes» architecture of a perfect restaurant, is that the kitchen is fully visible but, located behind glass. Not only does this also reduce any noise in the dining room, it prevents leaving the restaurant with your clothes smelling like an open grill. Many people probably don’t notice this detail but to a lifelong vegetarian, it is a wonderful thing! Thank you owners! Well done. Lastly, regarding the décor, there is an interior entry vestibule that I’m sure keeps out the cold during the winter, but it is not very elegant. It is however an example of caring restaurant owners. Now onto the best part of Longitude315, the food! As always, being a gluten-free vegetarian reduces my options greatly. At this restaurant however, I did not feel like a stranger in a strange land. South American cuisine is friendly to people like me. The dining service begins with the most amazing long-sliced Plaintain chips with a great dipping sauce. We started our meal with Drunken Mushrooms, excellent. The menu describes each dish very accurately so I’ll leave that discovery to you. We also ate Montaditos(without the bread for me). The Quinoa stew is simply amazing. If you enjoy creamed soup, the Quinoa stew will light your fire. Take a look at my pictures to see the other dishes and presentation from our evening. This restaurant really surprised us, it is simply superb. If you don’t like this restaurant, you probably don’t like restaurants :-) We are already planning our second visit.

Went once when they first opened. It was okay, took about 2 years for our repeat visit. The food tastes good, the ambiance is nice. They fixed the«smokey» problem they had when they first opened.(You won’t smell like Ron O’ when you leave) My problem is the value. For $ 24 bucks at Wildfire you get the best skirt steak you’ve ever had and can barely finish, a heaping portion of potatoes. Here for $ 20 you get a child’s size portion. It’s a fine«date night» place but won’t be in my rotation.

This is one of the best restaurants I’ve been to in a very long time. Great service and some amazing food. They have a soft bar. That means only beer and wine. Their wine from South America is fantastic. Some of the best Malbec I’ve had. A really great variety. I love small plates and tapas. Most tapas places have very similar dishes. NOT this place. Unique and fantastic flavors, every dish was great. We started with some wine. They brought out some plantain chips with homemade Chimichurri to dip in. It was fabulous. I came with four others from work. We all agreed, this place was great. We spent the evening ordering small plates that real shared. The grilled mussels were unbelievable. Never had them prepared that way in a wood burning grill. The garlic shrimp were fantastic. They also had some pulled pork on a type of polenta that was great. So many great dishes. The only dish that wasn’t five stars was the quail. It was a little tough. Flavors were good, but just tough. I’d pass on that. Every other dish exceeded our expectations. We wrapped up with desserts. Again, South American spin on some awesome standards. We actually tried one of everything. Just amazing. The cinnamon bread pudding was unbelievable a must try. What a great find. We will be back.

Longitud315 gets 5 stars in spite of the fact that our dinner got off to a bad start with an extremely rude receptionist, who came to the front desk(where we had been waiting for a few minutes) to answer a phone call and didn’t acknowledge our existence until she was done. When she deigned us worthy of her attention, she received us in a cold and unfriendly manner and passed us off to our server. Thankfully we had great service and great food from that point onward. For dinner the four of us shared small plates, including the arepas, empanadas, fried plantains, fried yucca, and ceviche. The plantains could have been more evenly cooked, and surprisingly they came with the skin on. I also wish that the fried yucca had been served with a sauce, as it was dry on its own; we used the sauce served with the complimentary plantain chips. In addition to the food we also shared a pitcher of the Longitud315 white sangria. The drink and these dishes were generally delicious — I would describe the food as flavorful but not spicy in the picante sense.
