Love this place. Totally feels like your typical family run la tienda. What makes it even better is that on the inside is a mini restaurant. Each day has its own deal. For example Monday is 2.99 burritos and Wednesday has $ 1 tacos for barbacoa or ground beef. Their menu is extensive and involves both Hispanic and American dishes. They have an extensive juice menu at very cheap costs. It’s unbelievable that such a place with these prices exist in the north shore. As you sit, you have the typical condiments provided for you, but they also bring out the green sauce and red sauce. If you order take out they will kindly include those sauces in your order in small cups. I would highly recommend this place. It tastes fresh, clean, and healthy and people are nice here.

Run don’t walk to Isaac and Moishes for breakfast lunch and dinner. Great food, great prices, friendly people, family owned. Great fresh juice made right in front of you for ½ the price of anywhere else!

We eat here ALLTHETIME. Since moving to highwood, it has definitely become our go-to for lunch, dinner, snacks… probably breakfast, once we try it. We have not had anything that we haven’t loved. The tamales are so good and spicy(cheese and jalepeno!), the tortas are incredible, my husband loves the tacos and the enchiladas, and we both agree the burritos are essentially perfect. Plus, the mexican baked goods are always so good and fresh. People seem to really love the juice but I don’t like juice, but if that’s your thing give it a try? I stick to the mexican menu and have yet to be disappointed. Now I want a tortas for lunch!

The fish tray was elegant, delicious and done exactly as requested. The bagels were right out of the oven and I couldn’t resist eating in the car on the way to the party. We couldn’t have more Pleased.

This is our go-to place for fresh produce as well as take-out. The staff is outstanding and attentive and friendly to everyone at all times. They are efficient when handling your take-out orders and will assist you in finding anything. Hands-down favorite is their made-to-go brisket which you can have in tacos or any other dish as well as just ordering the meat alone to use at home. Ridiculously tender and flavorful and very affordable prices. You must try their tamales and I especially love the vegetarian one which is cheese and jalapeño. They also have a full deli where you can order their famous Green Joy drink for a mere $ 3. I see many women coming here just to order that alone, because yeah, it’s that good.

I always see that this place has $.99 tacos every Wednesday I decided to stop by and try a steak taco I asked if the $.99 tacos was still going on the guy said yes I ordered 2 steak tacos sat there and enjoyed the tacos thinking there not bad for $.99 went to the front by the register my total was $ 5.45 I asked why so much she said cause I ordered steak only beef is $.99 so I stopoed for a second and had no choice but to pay almost $ 5.50 for 2 tacos(not worth it at all) when a customer comes in and asks are tacos $.99 be specific and say only beef tacos(tacos weren’t all that very dry meat) never walking in this place again

Their Cubana sandwich is one of the best sandwiches you will ever eat in your life.

So much to say and like about this place. First the tacos, tamales, and other Mexican dishes are spot on. Very very casual to eat there — just some tables in the middle of the store. They also have a great juice bar with a huge selection. Real stuff, not the sugary flop like the chains. They have produce that looks like it came right from the farm. I get my salad fixins here. The store features tons of Mexican goods and bakery stuff. They also have a nice Jewish deli section for pastrami and tuna salad. Friendly folks and lots of people from the neighborhood. I really wish they were open Saturday.

Finally came in to try some of the food. The prices are a little bit more than i thought they would be but i guess it makes sense since they are in the middle of an area that caters to the wealthy. The tacos were pretty good, i have had better but i think these were my favorite tortilla, not too dry. The only big negative was that the steak bits seemed too chewy so probably need to be better cuts. The torta was pretty good but i think i would get it without the beans next time. The gentlemen behind the counter were polite and they have a very large selection of food. Next time i will definitely try the deli to see how that plays out. I’ll be back

I am so happy that I have had the opportunity to finally get to Isaac and Moishe’s. They have a wonderful and reasonably priced juice bar. The green juice is absolutely amazing! The selection of juices is great and they have many unique ingredients should you feel like trying something new. While my juices were being made I looked around and ordered an avocado torta. It was delicious! I wasn’t sure what would come in the sandwich when I went home to eat it but it was full of cheese, tomatoes, onion, lettuce and of course avocado! If was fresh and delicious. I need to go back ASAP to get another one! They don’t have a large produce selection, however, the fruits I have purchased(pineapple, mangoes and avocados) have tasted so good. The mangoes were literally the sweetest things I have ever eaten! My mother purchased breaded chicken cutlets from their butcher area to cook at home and said they were excellent. Overall, I think if you are in the area of would like to try a fun, quick and inexpensive place I think you should check out Isaac and Moishe’s. I know I am going to be a frequent patron. :)

We love everything about this place. The ready made food is great for eating in or take out. It’s also a great place for Spanish foods. I can always find ripe plantains and ripe mangos which is hard to do.

Wow, where do I even start with my love for this place? So, my hubby and I are on a huge smoothie kick lately, and we’ve been meaning to come here FOREVER! Finally, it made total and complete sense that we would head out on a gorgeous day and keep our promise to ourselves. Get to Issac & Moishe’s Deli for smoothies! Funny enough, I was completely obsessed with the smoothie idea but ended up with two of their tacos of the day(just $.99 each) beef hamburger and beef brisket, not greasy at all, and then I added chips to my order(came fresh made and warm), and guac.(fresh chunky and big for a small order). My hubby got the smoothie, and I’m super bummed I lost the menu, because I’d love to tell you what was in his green machine delight! Green and fruity as can be! The tangy kick was amazing. Overall this place is a family grocery where you can buy a few of your main staples, hot chocolate, pick up a slow roast chunk of lamb, dine in for tacos(yep they serve tongue tacos), and head out with baked goods to go. Though it was a bit confusing to figure out what to do and how to order, the service was amazing and friendly. Oh, I even ended up with a Unilocal check in offer! Definitely authentic here in the language, food and atmosphere. They have tables where you can dine in and enjoy your food. They bring it out to you after you order. The owners of this place were onsite and beyond wonderful. I will be back without a doubt for another adventure. Must grab a box of those Mexican cookies on the way out next time! Note: Kosher practices here and they close early on Fridays.

Great food and inexpensive groceries. I had three tacos and they were just awesome. They just added tables and I hear will soon try breakfast. I need to come here more for lunch…

I got the smoothie while I was here as well as two tamales to go. They had a special blueberry one with the proceeds going to cancer so I got that one. No protein, just fruit, a delicious, if a little on the pricier side. I held off on the tamales to give to my family but hours later they beckoned me so I ate one and then the other hours later after it had cooled. The rojo tamales was delicious, it was everything a hot dog stand tamale would want to grow up to be. The verde though, was slightly spicier but not less flavorful. I think service wise they got their act together. I barely was there 5 minutes staring before someone came up to ask me what I wanted.

Great smoothies! I had the green joy… Verdict? Joyful, as promised. Then I tried the detox which has pineapple, cactus, cilantro and possibly papaya. Also great! I’m sure all their smoothie choices are awesome, and they have 20 of them! I was so happy to see they have mayo-less tuna salad. That’s been kind of hard to find, in my experience. And it’s very good. Instead of using a nasty filler or mayo substitute, it appears to be like a tabouleh salad, but with tuna. I will come back for this, for sure. There are so many choices, from tamales, tacos, deli meats, bagels, breakfast egg specials with hash browns, breads, cookies, mexican pastries… the list goes on and on. Half the store is the produce section, which I didn’t peruse and they have a couple aisles for dry goods as well. If you’re interested in a juice fast, going to Isaac & Moishe’s is a great alternative to these other deals offered, and you get much more variety. Example: 3 day fast from Peeled $ 105(Groupon price) including tax provides you with 6– 16oz juices per day. That’s $ 35 per day for 96 oz of fresh juice. At Isaac & Moishe, you get 32 oz for $ 6, so regular price brings you to $ 18 plus tax for the same amount of juice. You also have a menu board of 20 juices to choose from, so you can customize your own juice fast. By the way, I & M doesn’t advertise any kind of juice fasting program. This is just a do-it-yourself idea. I know several people in the area that do this every few months. I’ll be counting myself among those very soon. The whole store has been overhauled recently, although I can’t tell if anything has been added.

We stopped in here after lunch at La Casa de Isaac.(It is just around the corner). I was stuffed from lunch, but I wanted to check it out. I did end up getting 2 different types of tuna salad. Both were wonderful, but the star of the show was the fresh baked corn muffin I bought at the counter. It was so delicious, I kicked myself for not buying more. Oh well, an excuse to go back!

Lost in Translation + Incommunicado. A Kosher Mexican deli sounds awesome but I won’t mince words, I LOVED the food, but the service and severe lack of even mildly attempting to listen or respectfully communicate with customers made me want to gouge my eyes out with a melon baller. I still don’t understand what the hell happened on our visit. Get it together, Isaac & Moishe! Your ish is totally deserving of 5 stars, but with the experience I had, this review is lucky to have even the 2. Walked in super excited, greeted by the guy behind the reg but then got ignored by the girl at the deli, who saw us come up and immediately turned her back. A few moments later the guy from the register walks over and asks if he can help us, THEN the girl decides to stop what she’s doing and turn around to stare. There’s no clear ordering system and apparently their menu is a free-for-all(see below). I tried ordering the veggie sandwich and he said ‘okay,’ then I ask if they can make it a sub, since the sign on the wall says there’s a special on sub sandwiches that day. The guy says ‘yes’, and asks me what else. I say I also want to get 3 of the tamales shown on the back menu wall and he sighs like I’m the asshole, and tells me I have to go in back to order that, even though I was just back there and again ignored by employees. Oy. I go in back to order and realize that the guy behind the tamale case speaks pretty much no English and unfortunately I don’t know any Spanish so we were left with a lot of slow talking, hand gestures and pointing until we finally figured out that they were out of two of three of the tamales we’d wanted. I ended up getting the raisin tamale and a very un-mild jalapeño. Then we tacked on an avocado and egg torta for $ 6 more. If you make it to I&Ms, do get all of these things, but make sure to bring your Spanish or ordering might not be worth the mega frustration of playing charades to communicate anything. I go back up to order I&M’s famous green drink that I had been meaning to tell the guy who took my sandwich order, but since he cut me off and sent me to the back of the store for tamales, I wasn’t able to get a word in besides my veggie sub. So I’m waiting at the counter and again being completely ignored by the girl working… even though we are and have been the only customers in the store. Finally, this girl turns around and asks if I’m waiting on something. Well yes, I’m waiting on that veggie sub that you watched us order and I’d also like to order that green drink. Then she gets a totally confused look on her face like she didn’t just stand there and watch us order 5 minutes earlier. She does a lame attempt at looking around to scope a rogue veggie sub and says they don’t have that. Uhm, we ordered it… with that guy *I point to register,* you were right there watching. She says they don’t have a veggie sub and then calls out to the guy who confirms that, even though he was just totally on board with the sub before. I say ‘fine’ and tell her we’ll take the veggie sandwich. she says that’s not a thing either, they only have veggie roll-ups. I point to the board where only a few lines above the roll up it clearly says ‘veggie sandwich’ and she acts like I’m seeing dead people. Like that totally doesn’t exist on the board. We go back and forth about the existence of a veg sandwich and she says she can make me one, but it’s just going to be lettuce, onion & tomato. So I tell her to forget about it because I don’t want just LTO on a sandwich– that doesn’t even sound good. In fact, it sounds lazy and sh*tty. I guess I figured for a place with ‘fruits and vegetables’ in the name and a veggie sandwich clearly on their menu, that they could do better than just lettuce, tomato and onion. Then she keeps pushing something called a veggie roll-up but I don’t want a f*cking veggie roll ups. I don’t know what that is and I don’t want to eat it right now. So I amend my order and ask her for the large green drink. She turns around and maybe 2 minutes later, asks me what I want. Deja vu. I still want the large green drink. She puts a bunch of stuff in the blender and starts mixing it up. She turns around mid-blend and asks AGAIN what I wanted, like she’s some kind of goldfish with no memory. I repeat my order and she goes back to blending. Then, I sh*t you not, with my bf as witness, she asks ANOTHER time what I ordered. Now I feel like a hidden camera crew is about to pop out. Skip to us in the car, about 5mins up the road and there’s a weird chicken sandwich in our bag that we were charged for. Ugh. We head back bc I refuse to drop the overcharge and the register guy asks me if I’m sure I didn’t order that. Then he takes the container that left the building and was opened in my car and hands it off to the lady who was waiting behind me in line. Gross. What if I touched it? Then he stares at me until I have to ask to be refunded. Great food, but a great big ‘Oy.’

I love the churros, tamales, flan, rice and beans to go. Unfortunately, their bagels and cream cheese are terrible! Old tasting cream cheese and a really dry and small bagel. Don’t waste your money.(I thought they might be descent, but I’ll just stick to the Mexican food.)
