Excellent service, excellent food, nice selection of menu options & prices. The environment is extremely comfortable and warm. Scotty is there front-and-center to make sure everything is perfect. We will be back again many times.

Scotty’s is my new go-to when I’m in Lake Forest visiting family. It offers a relaxing ambience, friendly staff, vast menu selection, and great drinks. I discovered my favorite wine — a pinot noir called Carmel Road — there and have started keeping a bottle or two at home! I’ve eaten the crab cakes, calamari, caprese, Kelsey D’s pizza, Italian beef, Francisco’s salmon, prime rib special, the Digman burger — all so delicious. A lot of the dishes, including the bread to start, are served with a deliciously crunchy giardiniera. If you want a dependably good place to eat — a place where you’ll enjoy the food, the company, the entire experience — go to Scotty’s!

We thought we’d give this relatively new restaurant a try. The location has seen various restaurants give it a go, but not make it – this one should succeed. A look at the menu reflects a broad approach, seeking to please nearly everyone. We had 4 in our group and sure enough we ordered the 4 corners of the menu: Pork; Trout; Ribs; Shrimp with linguini. The pork and ribs got the biggest raves. The linguini and the trout(with risotto) both could have used more spicing – good, but not great sort of dishes. The wait-staff is very friendly and very attentive. I ordered a mixed drink that didn’t move or shake me, not to my taste – no fault of the bartender – they very graciously provided a new cocktail greatly to my liking. That last bit, that’s why they will succeed(hopefully): cordiality and a broad based menu of good food.

A great dining experience all around. Warm inviting atmosphere and great service. We started with a fabulously priced Zinfandel and shared appetizers. The calamari and tuna were great. I ordered scampi style shrimp but requested it served on spinach instead of pasta. Even though the restaurant was very busy(I mean full on a Wednesday at 8:30!) they were like no problem it was awesome. Courses were perfectly paced and food arrived HOT and wonderfully seasoned. Both of my companions ordered the salmon and said it was great. I can’t wait to try some of the pizzas. Service was fabulous and the vibe was fun. I will definitely be back. I think I found my new favorite restaurant

Hubby and I went back again last night. It was 4:45… no plans… wanted a GOOD cocktail. We called Scotty’s(still no online reservations) and found out we had to get there soon to get a table. We hopped in the car and took our chances. Good thing! We had a GREAT evening! We sat at the bar and learned our old pal Carlos from Lovell’s was the bartender. We didn’t notice the last time because we just headed back to a table and the bar was so crowded, we couldn’t see who was working. I had a Lemon Drop(made by Edwin) and Hubby had a Manhattan(made by Carlos). So the evening started out with two fantastic cocktails… 5 star so far… They brought out the bread. In my last review, I said the bread was not good… Well, they changed it to the rolls Lovell’s used to use! OMG! I was stoked! Fresh warm rolls with soft butter and giardiniera… still 5 stars… Shrimp cocktail… 5 stars! AND since we were there so early, it was half price!!! At this point Scotty came to ask how everything was. I commented on the rolls. He said they tried a few kinds and went with these. Thumbs up… thumbs up. Hubby ordered the chicken milanese special and I ordered the trout special. I had said the salmon was a bit overdone in my first review… well, not the trout it was moist and flavorful without being too salty like some other places are doing nowadays. It came with quinoa, brussel sprouts and spinach. mmmmmwah(kiss in the air) All my favorites. Hubby was so pleased he told them they needed to add his dish to the regular menu. On to dessert… Nothing looked good to me on the menu. Hubby had a port and the apple crisp. I tasted both. Great port. Great crisp! I think I ate more than a taste. ;-) The crisp was a nice size to share. Not these huge desserts as big as your head. Just enough for two… As we were finishing up, the table behind us had the fried calamari. It looked light and fluffy. I’ve gotta get it next time. This, my Unilocaly friends, is my new favorite spot!

Very impressed with this restaurant located in a strip mall. First off, the location is horrible, no restaurant has been successful in this space, but I think Scotties will break that trend. I was super impressed. We went on a slow Wednesday night, and everything was outstanding. Service and bussers were exceptional. I asked one of the guys and he told me that a lot of the employees were from the old Lovells in LF. It shows. We had a calamari app, which was fantastic. A lot lighter and less greasy than most other places. A BBQ chicken pizza that reminded me of CPK in the 90’s when quality was still good. A caprese salad which actually was a good portion.(Most places cheap out) Also ordered salmon, which is something I never order because it is usually so boring. But this was delicious, I would actually get it again. I was very impressed with this restaurant, and hope to add it to our regular rotation. To be honest, I had no idea this restaurant existed until it showed up on my Facebook feed because a friend had tagged himself there. The power of social media.

Loved our first trip to Scotty’s! My wife and I both had the Reuben. And not just any reuben but the J Burgess Reuben AND we were dining with the J Burgesses themselves. The Reuben was melt in your mouth great and my choice of coleslaw as a side was perfect. Great Martini before dinner and I highly recommend the Italian beef pizza as an appetizer. The service was terrific including being greeted by Scotty who also visited our table. We will return many times for the Reuben and we will try much more of the menu.

Just had a fantastic dinner at Scottys on Sheridan with my family, 5 kids aged 9 – 18. Something for everybody. Great service, great drinks and great food. John is a wonderful host, Scotty a great bartender and host. Francisco runs an incredible efficient dining area. Trout special didn’t stand a chance, boys loved steak. Littles had cheese pizza and spaghetti and meatballs. All appetizers hit the spot and don’t forget dessert and after dinner coffees. Wow!

My girlfriend and I stopped in on veterans day. When we walked in we were shocked by how amazing the interior looked. I can not believe how much work they did and how awesome it looks. I love love love how they have a bar area, lounge, and a dining room. We sat at the bar and the bartender was knowledgeable and friendly. We had the calamari(fried) and a Kelsey D pizza! Both were awesome. We had a malbec wine that we really enjoyed as well! We will 100 percent be back and soon!

Great food, wonderful cocktails, excellent service. Will definitely be back to try more items on the menu! Had a tough time deciding what to order. We all went w/a burger(which was cooked perfectly). Looking forward to trying to chicken Marsala next:).

Great service, good pour, nice owner, and great food! We have been twice. I had the filet and then chicken marsala, both were wonderful. My husband had the ribeye both nights and said it was fabulous. Edwin is also the best bartender! Will definitely come back.

Terrific! My wife and I had a great dinner at Scotty’s last night. The food was terrific and the ambience was warm and inviting. We had dinner in the lounge area, where tables are set for dinner with very comfortable chairs. The menu is diverse and includes«fancy» dishes(steak, seafood, ribs, etc.) but we chose to go «casual» with a cheeseburger and turkey burger, fries and salad. Both were outstanding. The wine list has many good choices and we enjoyed a nice pinot noir which was great. No room for dessert but many choices. Beyond the food and drink, the one thing that stood out to us was the friendliness of the staff. Scotty was there to greet us as we walked in and every one of his staff had a smile on their face during our stay. This is a new restaurant and they all seemed genuinely happy, excited and proud of their new venture. We will definitely be back – a great place for a casual dinner but it also works for those looking for something more upscale(but not«stuffy»).

Scotty’s is a local gem! We stumbled across this place while visiting some friends and had an absolute blast. The ambiance is great for drinks in the lounge or a nice dinner. We tried various appetizers and from the calamari to the Kelsey D’s pizza among other entrees. Everything was amazing! If we’re ever in the area again we’ll be sure to stop by Scotty’s for dinner. Definitely worth while checking out!

Tried this new neighborhood restaurant last night with a friend. What a disappointment! We started with the crab cakes as they sounded good from the description on the menu. Unfortunately they were under cooked and mushy. No crust on them whatsoever. Next we ordered the bar-b-cue chicken pizza. It was basically a flat bread crust soaked with way too much bar-b-cue sauce, a few pieces of chicken, and some shredded endive on top. California Pizza Kitchen’s is much better.(And that’s not saying much!) Next we split a burger. Ordered well done, came medium. It had a really funky taste to it. Less than appetizing for sure. In addition to the less than appealing food, the atmosphere was not welcoming at all. The older gentleman(who we assumed is Scotty) walked around the restaurant and visited each table. Except ours! Not really sure why. Maybe we look scary. Furthermore, no greeting when we walked in and a barely audible«bye» as we left. Certainly not a very warm or friendly environment. Terrible experience all the way around.
