I was excited to see some competition arrive for Panera! We stopped in opening weekend for lunch. The décor in the main dining room was ‘ok’, could have been a bit more intimate but the pastries in the case were beautiful, really appealing. The seating in the front of the dining room was a bit cold. The blue paint they chose seemed cold, but maybe it was leftover from another job. Anyway, the service was a bit scattered, I’m assuming it’s b/c it was the opening weekend, but THISISALLMOOT, SINCETHEYHAVECLOSEDANDARENOW A DENTIST’S OFFICE, LOL

I found Auddino’s through reading a lot of other Unilocal reviews and suggestions on it. Although mostly my main purpose like my check-in said was to come in for the sip and shop which was a holiday shopping thing for two weeks in Auddino’s. I know I wrote on my check-in that I wasn’t planning on getting any food here. Although when you come into a restaurant I feel it is common courtesy to buy something out of respect even if it’s just something small. You are showing the business your not just there for something else but expressing interest in what they have. What I liked about my experience here on Sunday was that the man working behind the counter got to know me. He asked me what I like eating and what might be best for me at Auddino’s. He even gave me a sample of the doughsant to try. I didn’t care for it because I’m not into the real sweet taste of the doughnut/croissant mixture. Therefore I ventured on to the next things in their showcase and decided to get my husband the cherry/cheese danish. In addition, I bought some bread because they place their fresh bread and day old bread out in another section where they are differently priced. So the older the bread, the cheaper it will be. The fresher it is the more you will pay for it. I’m actually coming back here tonight not because I need more bread or anything but because I won 2 door prizes at last weeks event here. Hopefully I will resist my urge to get more food because by then I will be in a hurry to get somewhere else.

Good place for breakfast and lunch or coffee break. The atmosphere is quiet and comfortable to stay longer. Wedding soup is one of the food choice.

Again, a donut place not open Sunday morning. Is it me? Sunday is donut day. I’ve been here before so I know they’re good. All right, let’s see what we can find…

They have good soups! I’ve had the Italian Wedding a few times. I think it’s different because it has cheese balls in it? Not entirely sure. I stop by sometimes to pick up a small lunch and cookies/donuts when I’m in the area. My absolute favorite cookie is the raspberry filled sugar cookie. It’s delicious! All other cookies are good as well. The place is very clean, and everyone is friendly!

Had the doughsants which weren’t bad, so I went back to get a dozen assorted doughnuts and was given an $ 18 price tag! The doughnuts were decent, but not much better than a Dunkin donuts and not really worth the high price tag. Also, I decided to get a small cup of coffee, was charged 2 bucks, then found out they serve Folger’s coffee at Starbucks prices… I could have went to the speedway and got the same(or better coffee) for 69 cents! I don’t mind paying for quality, but I can’t justify spending that much money for product that is just ok. I’d recommend Pistachia Vera over these guys any day. I will not be returning, or sending others here.

A nice family owned bakery in Hilliard. Their popular Groupon deal brought me in for the first time. Their fried croissants(which they call doughssant but is called cronuts in NYC) are excellent. Their coffee was surprisingly good too– an excellent complement to the doughssants. Their regular assortment of donuts were also pretty tasty. I’ll definitely have to come back again sometime to try their breads and pizza.

Solid place for breakfast. Friendly helpful staff. I got the egg and cheese ciabatta, which was really good. I ordered a glazed donut which I would skip. And the hoho, which was awesome. Overall I would definitely come back here. Watch your inbox for their groupons.

A roomy bakery hidden on the curve of Fishinger in the Upper Hildulblard area, Auddinos would be a seven on a ten star scale. Specializing in donuts and other sweets, it also has a solid selection of sandwiches. It is a good place for lunch; I’d rank it above Tim Hortons and below Panera – for main meal fare– but competing in pastries for the top spot between its two other local competitors. It is easy to miss if you are speeding around the curve of Park Mill Run Apartments; it is in the building before Steak N’ Shake if you are heading west.(or north, or whatever. .. Damn curves screw with my sense of direction.) The good: their chicken panini is solidly done, toasted well, and has nice flavor. Their soups are surprisingly good, and comes in a large bowl. I was happy with the latter as I expected a small cup; they don’t make you feel like a orphan in a Dickinson novel. Their pastries are for real, freshly made, and melts in your mouth. Donuts, muffins, and croissants are recommended. The bad: their pizza sub is actually a breaded pizza, and was just a hair better than a frozen TV dinner sold at your local Wal Mart. Their fountain soda was watered down too the point you could taste the slight hint of Co2. I hope this is not a standard thing. They also forgot to give me my muffin which made me take another trip to the counter.(more of this below.) The awkward: although the dinning area is roomy and decorated well(hard wood floors, fake wooden, blocked half-walls which once contained the carcinogens of a smoking area, beautiful booths in the back, family style tables and chairs dotting the front.) I do not feel comfortable sitting there. It is almost too roomy; there is a draft that blows through. The dining area has a slight unsettling feel, as if something just isn’t right, that I can’t put my finger on. Their counter needs better organization. It is confusing to the customer. The clerks share a register while they take multiple orders at a time causing them to bump into each other and get confused. This is what I blame for them forgetting my muffin. I have yet to try their coffee. All-in-all, it’s a good place to have lunch, or a sugar fix.

Stopped in for lunch after a meeting. First off I love the atmosphere. The smell that hits you right when you walk in is fabulous… Bakery fresh! I ordered a cup of wedding soup, the Italian sub, and a doughssant(couldn’t resist). The wedding soup is very good. Traditional and hearty. Great portions of all the Italian goodies you love! Can’t go wrong with the Italian sub. Good amount of salami, capicollo, and ham with cheese, pepper rings, lettuce, tomato n dressing. Served toasted, HOO-RAH. The doughssant was the first to go though. Life’s too short. Eat dessert first! Warm, soft, and incredibly sweet. It lives up to all the talk! This place is phenomenal. Try it out, you won’t be disappointed. I need two more doughssants and an espresso to make sure I don’t pass out in ecstasy… Which, by all means, wouldn’t be a bad thing.

Delicious pastry, cookies, cannoli, and my personal favorite: «Lobster Tails». If you are craving it, EATHERE. If they had a short-order breakfast kitchen I would rate 5 stars.

I love this local bakery. They supply sub buns to many of the local mom & pop pizza shops. I come here primarily for those exact buns. They are delicious and dirt cheap(3, 12″ sub buns for $ 1.50). A side bonus is they have really great baked goods(donuts, cookies, etc).

I wasn’t sure what to expect walking into Auddinos for the first time. The unassuming outside and signage suggests some kind of daybreak café such as First Watch, or maybe a cafeteria style kind of place. What you get upon entering is more sweet treats than your mind can probably comprehend. Rows upon rows of pastries, cookies, cakes, and other treats including the legendary cronut/doughssant will assault your senses of sight and smell. The actual food menu is small, and way up in the ceiling so it is hard to see without straining your neck a little. It is all Italian subs and pizzas and stuff. Not what I was expecting nor what I was in the mood for. Still the pizza sub I had was pretty good. Not amazing, but serviceable. The real showstopper is the sweet treats. I’ve had a variety of things here and they have all been delicious. I’m not going to lie, once we went back for a second helping of donuts. It is a really big building, truly. More seats than I have ever seen close to being filled and they always seem a bit understaffed. I think it might be a family business, or close to it. Finally, check out the racks of marked down baked goods. You can usually find a good deal on some tasty rolls.

I rarely get over to this area of town, but while I was here I had to stop in and try Auddinos. My husband is a donut addict and for anything baked and covered in sugar or glazed topping, so as a small sign protruding towards the street that claimed«Fresh Donuts» naturally, we were inclined to stop and see what this bakery inside the old Fuddruckers had to offer. Auddinos has you covered when it comes to great pastries and donuts. They have multiple display cases showing off the goods where many can«Ooohh!!» and«Ahh!» over the sugary deserts. Much to my surprise they also offered a small menu catered to the lunch crowd. I say lunch crowd as I probably would not recommend this place strongly for dinner. It’s pretty light fare… I mean, unless you want a light dinner with heavy desserts later. I mean, this place says, «Café» in the title. I wouldn’t expect anything too hearty here, folks. The old Fuddruckers building adds a nice aspect to those who want to sit and ready the paper, or work on a project of some sorts as the lighting is pretty good with the larger windows. Another cool thing was that Auddinos offered some day old breads, which would be great for maybe a good Italian dinner, or even for someone grilling out. There was some variety for cheap-o. Ok, so for the goods. ***Cannolis– A-OK, but not the best in Columbus. ***Cro-nut or they call is «Dough-sant”– AMAZING. You must try this contraption. You get that savory, sugary, crack glaze, then the buttery innards of the croissant. ***Cake donuts– Another A-OK. They definitely would go well with a good cup-o-joe. This place is pretty good to satisfying any sugary crack receptors in the brain, but beware waistline.

I have not had any of the café items so my review is based solely on the bakery items. When I went in on a late Saturday morning there were a number of people purchasing items. People moved pretty quickly in and out except me as it was my first time there and I was rather undecided as to which goodies I was going to try. Service was very good. I asked a few questions regarding some of their pastry items and the girl at the counter answered questions and made some suggestions. I took in the information and waved another person ahead of me while I continued to decide what I wanted. Another customer was there getting a pastry called«lobster tails.» She recommended them highly to me. I bit and decided to try a lobster tail, a mini cannoli, an almond cookie and a peanut butter cookie. The lobster tail was deliciousl! The pastry was wonderfully flaky; crispy on the outside, slightly chewy on the inside. The cream was incredible! The other customer told me it was a mix of pastry cream and ricotta. Very rich and flavorful! The mini cannoli was probably the best I’ve ever had. I am generally not a big cannoli fan. I can take them or leave them. These cannolis looked so good, that I could not leave the place without trying a mini one. The mini cannolis are a good three or four bites. The shell had the right thickness and a very good bite to it. It was slightly crisp, but held together rather than crumble apart at the first bite. The ricotta cream was sweetened perfectly. At each end were thinly sliced almonds which were a nice addition. The cookies were very good. Both were soft on the inside, but crisp on the outside. The peanut butter had a really nice PB flavor. The almond cookie had a very strong, but very enjoyable taste of almond. Surprisingly, instead of almonds it was topped with pine nuts. I love pine nuts on cookies so to me it was better than having almonds sprinkled on top. Now that I am recalling the conversation with the server, it may have been called an amaretto cookie. The only thing that is keeping me from giving a full 5 stars is the lack of signage. There is a general price board that lists general prices, but I wish there were signs on the pastry and cookie trays listing the name of the item and a small description(if needed). Their prices are very reasonable and I have every intention of returning and trying other pastry items, cookies, and donuts. In fact, since they open at 7am most mornings, I plan on swinging by on my way to work this week to pick up some donuts soon.

Auddino’s might struggle a bit in some areas, but it’s definitely worth a try. I was trying to find a fast dinner with my dad after moving some furniture, and it was the perfect time to try Auddino’s. We used to love the Fuddrucker’s– the building was vacant for a very long time before this café showed up. Anyway. The café menu was more limited than I was expecting, but if a few things are done well, I can’t complain. I got a cobb salad and some wedding soup. The wedding soup was fantastic– much more depth in the broth than I usually experience, though I think there were kinda doughy dumplings also added, which was strange. My cobb was huge and more than fairly priced. The salads here might be simple, but they have fresh ingredients and are certainly a deal. Minus points for packaged dressing pouches, though. Also, my hard boiled egg was slightly oxidized which doesn’t bother me, but could put off some people. Still though, no regrets on my order. Pops had the pizza sub which was a little disappointing and pedestrian(too much sauce, bland), but his side salad(again with the salads!) made his order worth the price of coming in. Large, cheap, fresh. Donuts in the case were ½ price, since it was evening and presumably they’d been sitting there all day. I ordered a blueberry fritter and a fried croissant(!) for breakfast the next morning. I popped those suckers in a ziplock bag overnight and they weren’t stale at all. So good! On a Friday evening, the place was dead, dead, dead when we arrived, but humming with counter customers trying to get in on the donut deals by the time we left. There seems to be a pantry/grocery area for Italian staples like quality canned crushed tomatoes, olive oil, and pasta. However, the stock was very low– not in a picked-over sense, but rather it was clear this part of the business isn’t very vibrant so they don’t keep much inventory. I mean, that’s smart, but perhaps the problem is with the inventory itself. Most of the items I recognized as brands that are available at the grocery store. Grocery stores have amazing items available now, so my advice to Auddino’s is to stock something a little more unique. Perhaps an exclusive import contract? I don’t know, but this aspect is clearly not working so it’s time to either change it or get rid of it. Service was slightly gruff but efficient. I wouldn’t say it was unpleasant. I just feel like Auddino’s needs to hone their menu, service, and general offerings a little more. Oh, and then try to advertize. Pretty much anyone I’ve talked to about it has no idea it’s even here, including my parents, who live less than a mile away and pass by it frequently.

If I was writing this review on the food alone, this would be a solid 5 star review. If I was writing this on the service, well that would put it at closer to a 2 or 3. Let me explain… We went in on a slower Saturday morning. One or two customers ahead of us, no one behind us immediately and plenty of staff around. Yet it took nearly 10 minutes for anyone to help us because they were so disorganized and no one knew who was helping whom. It was a bit like a comedy of errors watching the people behind the counter. John C. and I each got a breakfast sandwich and were both seriously pleased. Big and yummy! Cooked to perfection. We also got a chocolate cannoli to enjoy as dessert. Oh my word. That thing was like a little crunchy and creamy piece of heaven! I kid you not. After we ate we decided to grab some pastries to go as a «bribe» for my younger brother(we wanted him to help us clean our old house for sale, hehehe). We got a nice variety and ever last thing we got was great. The cherry donut was pure delight! If you like cakey donuts, it’s a must. We got more cannolis and they were just as good as the first. We got a few other things, whose names escape me, and none of them disappointed. A lesson I take away from this: Go for the pastries to go but don’t expect great service if you stop in for a meal.

If you’re familiar with Auddino’s bakery near 11th avenue, you know they make some of the best donuts, cannoli, and bread in Columbus. For fans on the West Side, things just got a bit better. The café serves up all of their greatest hits(particularly the decadent«Cro-nut»), but also includes staple groceries, sandwiches, and gelato. I’ve gone in on breakfast runs and each time I was able to snag what I wanted from the pasty case quickly and easily with the help of a staff member. I will warn you that the prices are higher than Tim Horton’s down the street, but the quality is much better in return, and that when I ordered a breakfast sandwich to go, the good news is it was done to order, but the bad news is it took longer than I was expecting for it to be served up, leaving me walking around with a bag of donuts to go while others were getting served. The space is a converted Fuddruckers, but they left a decent amount of the seating area intact, so there’s certainly room to bring friends along for breakfast or lunch, but I wouldn’t try seating more than 5 – 6 to a table.
