Terrific food — hot and fresh! Best orange chicken we’ve ever had with actual orange! When we’re in Columbus from now on this will be our go to place. Wish they had a restaurant in Irvine California. :)

I have ordered here before, mostly when I’m lazy and want delivery, and it’s decently good. It’s typical Chinese food that’s delivered pretty quickly and is reasonably priced. Normally I would give it 3ish stars. It’s what you’d expect for the usual crab Rangoon, fried dumplings, egg drop soup, etc. Tonight however the service was bad enough to make me never order from here again. I called in an order of the usual appetizers, and when it arrived it was missing some things and had extra of others. I immediately called to tell them they mixed things up, and they argued with me that I ordered it wrong. After explaining what I wanted again, I was put on hold for awhile, and was then told if I wanted my «correct» order I’d have to pay for it on top of the incorrect order. All I wanted was for them to correct their mistake. I’d even pay for the difference of what was delivered vs. what I wanted, but they refused. Food is ok, service is terrible.

I tried this place while I was housesitting for my brother down the street, as it already had pretty high reviews. My food was amazing. I got a personal favorite, the Kung Pao Chicken — Holy Cow! I don’t know if it’s all that good, but the Kung Pao Chicken was great. The sauce specifically was so tasty, I kept trying to spoon it up off my plate with my fork after I was done. If all Kung Pao Chicken was this good it would be as popular as hamburgers are. I’d recommend it.

I have been ordering from this excellent establishment now for several months(6 months) and have been satisfied each time. I have not visited this restaurant yet, and have ordered delivery each time. Although we are pretty far away, we are very lucky to get our food delivered here in Dublin — 43016 Zip Code. So if you read this and live in this zip code call them and check them out. Why because we don’t have any other Chinese restaurant that delivers here — yeah you could do it with a Courier but this is the real thing. Especially at this quality and price! The quality that I am talking about is almost every aspect of their business. First off, their food preparation is unbelievable, why? Their food is not greasy ATALL — everything is fresh and delicious! It’s awesome. I normally order the #75. Scallops with Garlic Sauce — OMG. The scallops are nice size with a large portion of vegetables in a brown sauce — accompanied with your choice and style of rice. The taste is excellent — it is seasoned perfectly. If you want it hot spicey, just ask them. I normally get a an order of Spring Rolls(2 comes with the order) and split them with my wife. She orders #51. House Special Chow Mei Fun — also another excellent dish, she says it is «absolutely delicious». I think it is as well. When I have called in the past, the phone has been answered by a very nice people who have taken my order quickly and courteous — very nice people! I don’t think anyone eating any dish here will be anything but pleased, as I have been each time! Try them you won’t be displeased. I love the fact that we can order from this restaurant and they always delivery very quickly even though we are far away. They are the best and we feel very lucky to be able to get delivery from them!

Reliably good«fast» Chinese food. The steamed dumplings are hand rolled and come with a delicious sauce. If I call ahead, the food is always ready by the time I get there(8min drive max). My go to for tasty Chinese food.

Love this place. It’s been my go to in Hilliard for years now. The General Tso’s is spicy and the meat is white and fresh. They also make the best steamed dumplings your going to find in town. They’re quick and reasonably priced and they deliver too! Add them to your speed dial if you live in Hilliard and love Chinese food.

Pretty good Chinese food here. It’s definitely my favorite in town. I LOVE the house fried rice, and fried dumplings. Love that they provide a fast delivery service.

I don’t review many places, but I love GCE. They don’t deliver to my area, so I have to go pick up. It’s worth the drive and the best Chinese in the Hilliard area. I’ve not been disappointed once. I will say calling in the order can be difficult, but they are all very nice and personable when you come in.

I order regularly from here. Pros: The food is usually hot, fresh and the portions are good. The fact that they deliver to my house is why we order frequently. Cons: Customer service when talking to them on the phone has zero charisma. Maybe someone who doesn’t mind speaking in a more polite manner should answer… It might make more people want to call and order. Every time I call, it feels like a chore on both ends and I’m not even sure they care to have my business. Fried rice needs work. Almost looks and tastes like its out of the frozen food section. If that and the customer service were of a higher standard I would def being giving this place 5 star

It’s as standard as it gets at Golden China Express. And I mean that in a good way. As far as Americanized Chinese restaurants go, I really only look for the place to be clean, the staff to be friendly, and, of course, the hanging paper lanterns, lit-up pictures of a Chinese landscape, and an interesting color scheme. GCE does not disappoint. Of course, the biggest deal breaker is the food. It’s hot, fresh, and tasty. It’s amazing how many places don’t get the standard fare right: lo mein, soup, egg rolls, etc. It’s not gourmet. It’s nothing unique. It’s just done correctly. What more can you ask for?

This is one of our go-to spots. We love it even though we never go outside our choices, chicken with garlic sauce and hunan shrimp. It’s pretty awesome.

Somtimes I just want chicken chow mein and fried rice like I used to get at an old neighborhood restaurant in Anchorage where I grew up. Everyone called the chef Grandpa and the food was great… years later I’m still searching for another hole in the wall with good quick chinese. Have not found it yet but this place comes close. Egg rolls were huge and crisp, fried rice was full of pork, chow mein was just right. Will try more on the huge menu. It’s close and well priced so definitely now on my list.

This is our favorite Chinese place in Columbus! We order dinner here usually once a week and the food is always great. It’s not the cheapest but the amount of food you get is incredible. Even when I’m starving I always have food left over for tomorrow. I would definitely recommend this place to try!

Holy deliciousness! My roommate and I just moved to Hilliard this year and are still discovering new restaurants at least once a month. A few weeks ago, we got the immense craving for Chinese food and decided to browse Unilocal to see what we could find. You see, we’ve already tried a few other Chinese restaurants in Hilliard, and let me just say… we were not impressed. The other places tasted like pure grease and always made me feel sick. That’s why I like this restaurant. Their food isn’t too greasy, their delivery is fast, and their customer service is decent. I highly recommend trying their steamed dumplings. YUM!

Food is always great. They do Chinese takeout/delivery better than anyone in Hilliard. Always fast, friendly service. Highly recommended!

The food is decent… very typical Chinese restaurant. Based on what I’ve eaten so far I have not been overly impressed. The General Tso’s was decent but a little grisly. The chicken lo mein is pretty good but also a little grisly. The hot and sour soup was awful. It was thick, almost like it had gelatin in it and pretty tasteless for hot and sour soup. The egg rolls taste frozen but every time I’ve had one they are cooked almost perfectly. Definitely decent for a quick grab and go.

By far, the best dumplings in Columbus and some of the best ive had. I dont order anything besides the dumplings. I get them Steamed, and I would be very surprised if these were frozen and not hand made. If they come frozen then I need to find the store they get them from.

I’ve been eating at GCE for years, and I will always go back if I’m craving Chinese. As I previously stated in my tip, I consider this to be the best Chinese in the Columbus area. Hands down. Everything I’ve had here is amazing. My personal favorite is the general tso’s. Their chicken is always perfectly cooked and just the right amount of crispiness. I also love their crab rangoons. Their delivery is fast as well, although I usually get mine to go or dine in. I highly recommend checking this place out if you’re looking for a great Chinese take out in Hilliard!

Hilliard is a weird place. The Chinese restaurant in town that has a modern, attractive building, updated interior and looks like it would be a high-quality establishment(Golden Chopsticks) is actually just a notch above your average mall food-court Chinese fast-food joint. Golden China, on the other hand, looks like a complete dive. Based solely on appearance, you would expect greasy mass-produced mall food from Golden China, but in reality, it’s the best I’ve had in Hilliard so far.(note: will update if I find something better) They didn’t drown the food in a sea of oil. The rice was perfectly cooked. The broccoli was al-dente and not the over-cooked mush you get most other places. The egg rolls were fried to crispy perfection and not soggy. The won-ton soup tasted like chicken broth and not salt water. The shrimps were huge! It was a very pleasant meal. Please note that the portion sizes seem small in their take-out containers. They don’t use the traditional white buckets but instead use covered plastic trays. However, don’t let the presentation fool you– there’s two days worth of dinner in one tray. Though the food is fantastic, I would not dine-in. The interior is kinda depressing. Florescent lights illuminate a sterile white-and-green themed interior with lanolium floors. They also have the usual rear-lit panoramas of a river valley and the Great Wall where the middle of the picture sags backwards because it’s become unglued over time. Take all that, add flimsy tables and chairs and the female owner screaming at her chefs in Mandarin and you’ll want to order take-out. They hired two gringo’s to run the counter, but they kept talking about their go-carts and lawn mowers. Dirty and rough, they looked like they had just finished repairing a small engine. So in a nutshell:. This place serves awesome food cooked by real Asians in a family run establishment. This is the best Chinese restaurant for takeout in Hilliard I’ve reviewed so far. I will update this review if I find better. They even have a «diet» menu where the meals are steamed instead of stir-fried. I can’t wait to try that.

I am editing this review but not updating from before. My view stayed the same as I gave it another try and walked away feeling ehh. This place could be lower depending on what you grade them on. Food seems to be of quality and cooked properly(chicken pieces were nice sized and not stringy) but everything I ate tasted just average. Not spicy, sweet, salty, or savory. Curry Chicken: basically chicken with onions, carrots, water chestnuts, and a few snow peas. I tasted very little curry spice except in my first bite. maybe they make chicken with veggies and then just sprinkle a little on it to make it Curry chicken. General Tso’s: average taste with little to no spice. Nice pieces of chicken. $ 7.25 for combo. Crab Rangoon: Not the overly sweet taste that some do and it seemed to be more real crab than other places. Only 5 for $ 4.25 seems pricey. Prior trip below: My wife and I ordered two dishes that we thought be different from each other. When we got home, we couldn’t tell if we got the same dish or something different. My wife ordered Black Pepper Chicken while I ordered Hunan Chicken. I thought they were the same thing from taste and look. We called them to see if they made a mistake. They said that they made the two different dishes but i still have doubts. They offered to make another dish for free but I didn’t feel like driving back up. The Hunan Chicken was decent. The Black pepper was not like some places Black pepper where it is a dry rub. This was a sauce very similar to Hunan. My wife didn’t like it so I received leftovers for lunch since she preferred to eat something else. The egg rolls were ok but not as great as I have read on other reviews. I would try this place again because they were very friendly and the food wasn’t bad. I know of better Chinese places on the west side.
