Their crispy bamboo shrimp is what makes the rest of my work day survivable. Skip the standards and go for the Thai! The Tom Kah Gai is even better with extra hot chili paste.

We love Joey Chang’s! Great deal on Sundays with the lunch buffet if you are feeling variety but at a nicer establishment than regular Chinese buffets. The sizzling rice soup is definitely one of our favorite dishes. Beautiful and clean restaurant that doesn’t leave you questioning what’s going on in the kitchen. Amazing staff as well! Joey can be seen making the rounds and talking to the regular customers. My top recommendations would be the Grand Marnier Shrimp(to die for), the Pad Thai, and Joey’s Combination.

My personal experience has been great every time I go there. I usually sit at the bar and enjoy conversation with the bartender or the regulars. Food has always been good and hot… according to other reviews, some of their take out food was cold or warm… well, maybe because they order to go. Service and food can be slow, just like many dining restaurants, not fast food chain restaurants. I cook Asian food so I know it doesn’t take just 5 mins to cook a dish… just saying. Food can be a bit pricy but I’m sure for the size of the restaurant and the atmosphere, they also have to take care of their bills too. It’s different from some Asian restaurants that you can’t even see any meat in your food lol Anyway, happy with food, service, and drinks here.

Can’t recommend this place enough. I photographed a wedding here, and the staff went above and beyond all expectations. The food is amazing, the décor is tasteful and elegant, the interior is clean, and of course, Joey is so friendly and hard working.

Usually go here once a month and food is good quality and ALWAYS extremely hot temperature. Ordered take out Sunday and nothing about it was good! ! Husband had garlic pork and I ordered sesame chicken. Both meals were basically Luke warm. Did they spoon it up from Sunday buffet? I even had to wait to pickup so they were cooking something.? Also chicken was so chewy it was like cold chicken jerky. Dumplings were chewy and cold. Half decent was the spring rolls. Nothing was worth the $ 30 plus this was worth.

Nothing to brag about. A hefty price tag for a moderate meal, with small deserts. We spent about $ 65 for lunch and the food was«ok…» I wouldn’t recommend them and our cheesecake looked like the sliced it in half at least twice before bringing it to us.

Please see review from Christmas Eve. That was strike one. Strikes 2 and 3 came tonight. Ordered takeout. Got there, food still not ready. Waited and then found out our order had been given to someone else. But we were also told we were the only takeout. So, according to the story, someone came in and randomly decided to take our food home. Doubtful. Got home and wings were literally the size of 2 knuckles on my little finger. Tiny. Were they chicken? Strike 3 — you’re outta here.

Slow service, it took a long time to seat 4 adults and one child the restaurant was only half full while we stood waiting on a table for 10 min. Once we were seated our waiter filled the water then disappeared for at least another 10+ min. I ordered the general tsos and it was over breaded and pretty average. The rest of the party I was with all had something they were disappointed with about their meals. For the cost of this place it’s basically carry out sketchy Chinese.

They blew it on Christmas Day! You would have thought this was their first time serving on Christmas. They were short of staff and if you ordered from the menu you were told it would be a ‘longer wait’. If ‘Joey’ is the host, he could not have been less personable and seemed stressed. There probably wasn’t more than 30 people sitting. We arrived at approximately 1:30 p.m. They opened at 11 a.m. They JUST put the bunson burners under the buffet after we arrived. #Food not warm enough, as another customer said. #Building is cold, as another customer said.

Stopped in here for take-out last night. The restaurant is one of the nicest looking of any sort of restaurant in Columbus. It’s definitely a date-night kind of place. Joey Chang’s is located in the same little strip mall as the Movie Tavern, so there’s plenty of parking and it’s easy to get to. We opted for take-out. My husband had fried dumplings and sweet and sour pork. He said the sweet and sour pork was unlike any other he’d ever tasted before and loved it. The dumplings however were bland and the dumpling sauce was kind of watery. I ordered steamed dumplings and Kung Pao scallops. The scallops were about the size of a silver dollar and were pan fried first before being mixed with the sauce. So they had a nice grilled crispy outer layer to them. The Kung Pao sauce was incredible and had tons of peanuts! The flavor was very similar to that of PF Chang’s Kung Pao sauce, which is my favorite sauce. My dumplings however were also very bland and felt like they had been sitting in a pot of boiling water all day. Overall, we really loved our meals. 2 orders of dumplings, and 2 entrees was a little over $ 40, which isn’t *terrible* for a more upscale version of Chinese food. Everything was very fresh tasting and still very hot by the time we got home. However I was mildly disappointed to realize the meals didn’t come with egg rolls, silverware or napkins. I highly suggest Joey Chang’s if you are looking to take your sugar bean out to a nice sit down dinner. Or if you’re just feelin’ a little saucy yourself! It’s a nice place, check it out! ;)

I took my first trip this week to Joey Chang’s in probably 10 years. Honestly, I forgot it was still there. The service was good, and the food was good, but not as good as I remembered. Nostalgia, maybe? I don’t know.

We went for dinner here last week and had a great meal. As it was our first visit, we were a little shocked to see how large this place is and how nice it is set up vs. the amount of customers actually having dinner there. We did see a few tables fill up while we were eating, but over-all, I estimated there was only 18 people dining that evening. We did see a lot of to go orders fly out the door though! We started with the Thai Crispy Mini Rolls, which were 6 small egg rolls, served with a sweet and spicy red chile sauce. We had the waiter bring over some of that great spicy Chinese mustard and it all went down well. Next, my wife ordered the Sesame Beef and I enquired about one of the Thai offerings… but the waiter talked me into the Black Pepper Beef, which isn’t even on the menu! I had told him I liked really spicy and he assured me that this was the perfect dish to order. Well, the food came and even though my Black Pepper Beef didn’t look particularly spicy, it was great! We were both extremely pleased with our choices, although it did seem like my wife was eating a little too much of mine… We really liked this place as both the food and the wait staff were great. We were especially impressed with our waiter and hope he will be around the next time we visit, which should be soon. Only 4 stars as we were still wondering why this place wasn’t busier… we’ve tried all of the local Hilliard Chinese restaurants and this one was by far the best… as mentioned, we will go back soon and we’re not only hoping the food is just as good(or better) but that the place is also full of customers!

Are you looking for a little nicer Asian dining experience? Well, if you like a China Dynasty, Hunan Lion or Hunan House type of restaurant, then you will probably like this restaurant too. Don’t be fooled by the slightly tacky signage out front. There’s a warm and inviting ambiance inside here. It’s a classy-ish, modern Asian restaurant with a comfortable feel to it. It’s the type of place to go to enjoy a nice relaxing dinner and maybe dress up a little bit if you want. I can see this being the place to take someone out to a nice Asian dinner without breaking the bank. I’ve had three dishes here, so far: Lo Mein, Kung Pao Scallops, and Pad Thai, and they were all solid choices. The Kung Pao Scallops in particular were very flavorful with a thick rich sauce. The Pad Thai was as good as any other I’ve had in the city with those great subtle flavors Pad Thai should have. Someone in the kitchen knows what they are doing. The fact that they can do Hunan, Cantonese, Szechuan and Thai cuisine styles well, is impressive. Another thing that I like about this restaurant is that they offer brown rice in addition to their steamed or fried white rice. Their portions are decent and their prices are fair for what you get. Service has always been prompt and attentive without being over bearing. It looks like I’ve found another really good Asian restaurant to enjoy. 4 ½ stars for these folks.

Just moved Dublin and our son who lives here ordered Chinese from Joey Changs. Wow! We had Pad Thai, Sesame Chicken, and Broccoli Beef. Even our two year old grandson are every bite. Glad this is close enough to our new home to become a new favorite. Want to try more!

I am very happy for Joey Chang’s that there is a market for this kind of «chinese food,» but I will not be coming back. The service was good. The gentleman who doubled as a bus boy always kept our water glasses full with ice water. That is a big plus in my book because my roommate is one thirsty human being. The staff seemed to have a good rapport with their customers… giving hugs and smiles and asking how so-and-so was doing and why they didn’t join them for this meal. Our waitress was friendly, but disappeared towards the end of our meal. We waited longer than we expected to for the check. This was our first trip to Joey Chang’s. Based on the good reviews, we figured we couldn’t go wrong with the Sunday buffet [$ 12.95/person]. I’m not sure if a food inspector would have deemed the food to be warm enough, but it all seemed a little cool to me. The rice was dry and hard, the soup was also cold and the main dishes were just a little off. The veggie lo mein was oily, the general tso’s chicken was fatty and everything else was salty and mushy [a nursing home delight!]. One tell of a good chinese restaurant is how many chinese people you find dining in the restaurant. Aside from the staff, I was the only chinese person to be seen. One star for okay service, bad food and high prices.

Second time going to Joey Changs and this experience was better than the first time. Ordered Kung Pao Chicken for dinner and it was a large portion that was really good… very flavorful. The accompanying fried rice was very good however it had peas and carrots. The restaurant is a very nice environment that could be great for fancy events or just casual dining.

Very good, very authentic Chinese and Thai food at reasonable prices. Very nice and interesting dining room. Good servers. Fun bar. Honestly(and I don’t say this lightly) I felt like I was at a restaurant in Chinatown in San Francisco!!! Since I absolutely love Chinatown, this is a HUGE compliment coming from me. Definitely one of my 4 favorite Chinese restaurants in Columbus, and one of my 2 favorite Thai restaurants. Far and away the best Asian restaurant in the Hilliard and Mill Run area. ‘Going back this Sunday after church for the buffet :-)
