I wanted a hot horseradish. I bought inglehoffer extra hot. The most nonehot ever.
I was so disappointed but what could I do… no phone number.
For those who like cool radish. Go for it

The short version:
I’d stick with their canned products. They don’t seem to take refrigeration seriously.
The long version:
I was looking forward to trying real wasabi for the first time. Everything I’ve read says that it’s a delicate product with unique floral notes that are easily lost to heat. Refrigeration is of the utmost importance. Their own packaging says to keep it frozen or refrigerated at all times.
So, of course, I was a little disappointed when the product arrived wrapped in a single, very thin layer of completely thawed ice packs. I estimate it was about 60 to 70 degrees. Had I arrived home late rather than early, the product would have been warm. Had the delivery taken three days rather than two, it would have been downright hot.
I e-​mailed Beaverton. They were indifferent. They stated, «The product will arrive at ambient temperature which is what we expect.» I guess they expect the product to reach 90 degrees if it happens to get stuck in a UPS warehouse or truck on a hot day. I’m no wasabi expert, but I’m fairly sure that’s unacceptable.
Yes, yes… I know. I have lots of first world problems. ;^)

I love the deli stone ground with horseradish! Nice kick and thirsty lion serves it with scotch eggs! Super good on sandwiches!
