Let me tell you a secret, this particular Fred Meyers allows you to purchase your groceries online, much like Safeway, however, they are: 1. Cheaper, 2. They take coupons, 3. You pull up and they bring your groceries to your car and place your groceries in your trunk for you. It is awesome!
You get your first three for free, and it is $ 4.99 after that. Super convenient, and the selection is amazing. Additionally the folks who bring out your items are some of the happiest folks I have ever met.
I have done it three times now and it is so damn convenient, I could cry. Look up Fred Meyers and you are looking for Clicklist. Set up an account and you are good to go, you also can earn gas points (which I don’t use as I am a Chevron girl). They pick the best produce and fruit for you, I have never been disappointed.
They are not able to advertise this fact because all of them don’t do it, only select Fred Meyers.

Overall, this is a good FM. Have had a couple of issues when trying to get deli service. They have made eye contact with me and walked away. Two women in particular are very rude. I have stopped buying deli there.
Produce is good when it is stocked. Many times (8 – 10) we have looked for standard produce and the bin was empty. We tend to run to FM for just a few things here and there rather than shop there. We stock up at Winco for staples, Costco for meat and dairy and TJ’s for organics.
Prices are all over the place. Some cereal is $ 2 more per box not to mention just regular canned products. Too expensive to do a weekly shopping there.

Purchased a item and there was a flaw with it. The return department is the greatest!!! Thank you guys so much especially the people in the warehouse. Thank you again.

I got pissed off with fred meyer customer service. I bought some window curtains and came for check out by shoe section because there was long wait by customer service row. The lady who didn’t have name batch behaved very rudely. she was not taking at all with customers. when she was checking out my things she was throwing my stuffs. very very rude.

As far as Fred Meyers go, this is a pretty standard one, except their produce department. I am constantly amazed by the quality. Everything always looks so fresh and the majority of the stuff isn’t bruised.
Their meat department is pretty stellar as well, although I can usually get the same quality or better for less per pound at Costco.
Very rarely do I get asked if I need help, and usually have to hunt someone down to ask (I’m short and the other day I had to ask for someone to get a soda off the top shelf for me, when they were clearly seeing that I was struggling).
Overall, this Fred Meyer and the Beaverton one are my favorite grocery stores in the area, I like this one better for produce though.

There’s gas, a Starbucks, a cinnabon, a play land to do some kid free shopping and of course the regulars like fresh groceries, electronics, clothing, shoes, gardening, toys… everything! Great customer service and it’s a clean location.

Employees aren’t always the nicest here at this Fred Meyers. I’ve gone to plenty of Fred Meyers but this one it seems like a hit and miss with nice employees. But its an okay location. I don’t always think they keep things stocked because I always have to ask for something and they have it in the back just like energy drinks. Weird but its an okay location.

This is my neighborhood Fred Meyers. I do like it. I love the fresh produce and the variety. I like to check out the seasonals and browse the wine selection. I like Fred Meyers. All of them. Well… not all of them. There are some true gems in certain neighborhoods that I avoid altogether if at all possible. You know which ones I’m talking about.
I like the prices and the store is neat. This place is great for last minute gifts. Thank goodness for Fred Meyers.
The staff is really nice. I am the self-​checker kind of person but when I do go through a cashier line, all of the cashiers are friendly.

I live less than five minutes away from this Freddies, which means it’s my primary store of grocery. Sure, I adore New Seasons, but it’s like 12 minutes away.
Pros:
Large organic produce selection
Decent selection of «other organic-​y products»
My favorite Amy’s meals are almost always well stocked
They also have the crap food my husband eats
The store is laid out nicely
Beer galore– including local stuff
Cons:
Staff can be iffy, but you can find good ones if you’re there often
Weekends are a nightmare– no produce left after a Saturday
Meat department is questionable at best (That’s where my baby girl NS comes in)
Cinnabon is going to eventually kill my husband
The garden center at the Corn Pass locale is way better
I’ll be back again and again, because lazy always wins.

I stopped by this Fred Meyer on the TV highway after work about 9:00 PM for a couple of minor items. Proceeded to the self-​checkout and swipe my credit card, and… no receipt. Now I’m unsure if the transaction went through or not, so I approach one of the checkers and explain what happened, and she leaves to find the manager. After about 10 minutes she returns and says she cant find the manager, and I should come back in the morning. At this point I just want to go home so I leave all my items at he store and go home. I forgot about the entire matter until a $ 9.84 charge from Fred Meyer on that date shows up on my credit card statement weeks later. I went back to the store with my Visa statement to see the manager. After a long wait the manager shows up and I tell my story and present my credit card statement. The obviously irritated manager essentially blows me off telling me to call the corporate office, to which I responded by saying «you have to be kidding… for nine bucks?» Now he gets all huffy and decides to refund my money, but he is going to make a HUGE production out of it, and he is going to make sure I KNOW he is angry with me for wasting his precious time, stomping around making a paper record of each item rung up, presenting me with a stack of documents when he was finished.
I have a term for businesses like this: «last resort». I will still occasionally shop at this Fred Meyer, but very infrequently, as in nothing else is available.

This Fred Meyer location is poorly managed. They have many employees who should not be in customer service jobs. The electronics manager is a real b***, she argues with customers and gets really snotty with them. There is another guy who works in electronics that just stands there and glares at people if he is not ignoring your questions. Their grocery department is constantly out of products. However there are a few good people there still, like Ron in electronics, he is very friendly and helpful.

This is one of three grocery stores very close to were I live and the best of all. I regularly shop here and it has pretty much everything that I need for any kind of situation.
Produce, always have a good selection of fresha dn local produce.
Meats, have plenty of choices in cuts for reasonable prices
Beer, it’s a beer aisle from end to end with plenty of local and national choices. They have a huge selection of 22oz bottles to choose from at good prices.
Electronics, have a good electronics department with plenty of games.

What’s cool about this Fred Meyer — Hillsboro location
They’ve also have a gas station!
I usually come here to get fresh produce
And sometimes for milk and juice
It’s very convenient since it’s next door to 24 hour
I just wish they had more flowers
Sometimes I feel they need help at the checkout stands
As the lines get longer, so does the customers demands!
Nonetheless, I’m here once in a while

PDX 30 Day Unilocal Challenge #1 of 30

The store itself is great, wide aisles, good selection etc. it has a gas station with great prices, however the service is mediocre as the attendants will talk amongst themselves before coming to help. Overall, 3.5

It’s the store that has everything, clothing, gardening, electronics, paint and yes groceries. It’s fairly close to the house and I’ll go there mostly for household items. Grocery prices aren’t the best around. Clothing seems to be fairly limited at this location (at least men’s). I do wish at times that they would have more checkers.

All I needed were balloons blown up, however the courtesy clerk says it will be an extreme wait as she is running 3 departments. Amazing two different Fred Meyers and two ridiculous experiences.

While not my absolute favorite version of FM in the world, it’s so conveniently located that I find myself stopping here multiple times a week. Hence the 4 stars.
Fred Meyer has just about the best selection of «basic» supplies under one roof that is available, well, anywhere locally. It’s the Swiss Army Knife of grocery/​megamarkets. I would prefer that they were still locally owned and operated, but Kroger’s influence hasn’t (seemingly) changed FM into something that it was never intended to be, and I like that.
FM is the first place I think of when I want to purchase stuff like this: Basic groceries (cheese, bread, cereal, milk…). Socks. Windshield washer fluid. Puzzles. Beer. Garden hoses. Paint brushes. Greeting cards.
Stuff that I would consider shopping for elsewhere first: All varieties of home theater equipment. Furniture. Tobacco (if I was a user). Picture frames.
I assume you get the idea. One thing that you don’t see in every FM is a Cinnabon inside, but this has one. I can’t exactly say that I’ve ever had a single item from Cinnabon, but walking past and catching a whiff of some cinnamon rolls right out of the oven certainly gets the salivary glands working overtime.

First off, Cinabon inside! Evil yet amazing.
Less busy that the one closest to my house (that makes me want to yank my hair out just trying to drive through the parking lot).
Clean, bright after that annoying remodel they had going on.
AND good olé Fred Meyer gas station.

As much as I’d like to see my excessive reviews of various FM locations cease, I just can’t bring myself to do it.
The good: There’s a Cinnabon inside, which is pretty cool, since it isn’t the usual run-​of-​the-​mill Starbucks.
The bad: Filling station on north side of parking lot that is usually VERY busy (until the late evening), therefore requiring either a wait, or a departure to go to 76 or Shell down the street.
The ugly: I was disappointed to find no cold cans of Monster Energy Drink in the chilled beverage section tonight. (This is a reoccuring problem at most Fred Meyer locations around Portland.)
If there was a popularity contest between this location and the Cornelius store, I’d vote for the crew in C-​town — all the same amenities with less congestion of customers.

Freddy, you were a true pal on this fateful day last week. I visited you three times — each time in a vastly different city in Oregon. And each time, you tempted me, satisfied me, and watched me walk out the door.
This location proved to be like many others. I couldn’t get the type of cereal that I wanted (are Fiber One Honey Clusters really that obscure?) — nor the brand of hot dogs that I prefer (Hebrew National 97% Reduced Fat Beef Franks… a tasty camping delight) BUT on the flip side, if I wanted a porch swing, tiki torch, or you know, an engagement ring, I would have been in luck.
It is your vast array of tricks that is mind boggling — you satisfy me in the sense that you can do a LOT of things relatively well. But when I go in knowing that someone else could hit all the right places, all the right ways… you’re just… well, three stars. I’m all about the specifics.
