Excellent service, knowledgable and kind. Good beer selection, wines aren’t their thing but the underwood Pinot in a can is surprisingly excellent ! Owner took time to chat about their philly cheese steak which turned out to be better than anything I expected :) Food solid, drink selection solid with weekly change In offerings. Happy to spend both my time and money at a place like this! *update Being coming here about 6 months now. Owner here almost daily. Remembers me by name and my wife. Remembers preferences and offers opinions options. Call me «Norm»!

Great place and I had a great time. The beer selection is on point. Lots of varieties to meet your drinking needs. I really like the electronic menu above the bar. I had a pretzel and brat for dinner. Both were really tasty. The service was friendly and didn’t keep me waiting. I had fun playing the trivia game and the crowd was lively and a good time. Thanks McNally’s for making my visit to the area memorable.

First time here … EXTREMELY disappointed with the charcuterie plate I ordered. They charged $ 10 for 4 quarter size pieces of meat … 4 small pieces of cheese &3 toasted pecans. I basically received a lunchable. Won’t be back.

I’ll be honest and say that I’m biased in this review: I live in walking distance for the first time in my life to a decent bar. It’s one of the few places I’ve ever been where the owner and people have honestly remembered who I was from the first time I came in there, and are happy to see me back every time. I’ve gotten to know Jim and the staff and they are all unfailiingly friendly. I’ve gotten to meet and know several people from around town that I’ve never met before. Other taphouses and bars I’ve frequented, I’ve never had the recognition of being a repeat customer. My only complaint is perhaps the prices, but prices are going up everywhere. More than a couple of pints kind of strains my budget, and this, I imagine, can work against it from a being a better local community pub, and not just a yuppie watering hole. But prices are up for alcohol in general. Even a decent 6-pack at the store is over $ 10 now. So even $ 5 pints are getting rare on the board. And from talking with Jim and the issues that he has to go through for taxes, assessments, etc with the city, this is not a cheap operation to run. The owner tends bar most nights. Rents are high down here now. And his food service is limited because they cannot do range hood cooking in the kitchen without expensive renovation to the whole building. It has improved though, from the early reviews that call out the hotdogs. Philly Steak Sandwich and Reubens are done well. Okay, maybe the stainless steel bar is probably my only sticking point with décor, but other than that there’s good music playing(at a conversational level). There’s good live music during the summer on the patio. So, come here for what it is: a taphouse. Hundreds of bottled beer selections, and taps that are constantly changing, and staff that know beer. Almost always a good German import on tap. Excellent Belgian selection. I’ve admitted this review is biased, but McNally’s in no way ever asked me to do a review, and I do not plan on telling them about the review, I don’t need extra consideration. I would like this place to succeed as downtown Hillsboro needs it. I don’t know how it’s done but I think if we had more local community pubs that people can walk or ride bikes to it would make this country a better place.

Great place for a Beer and watch the Timbers win the MLS Cup! Beer selection is very good and we liked the choices. Weak in the food selection and delivery. Our friends waited 90 minutes for their food. Very strange since it was a hot dog and a Rueben. When it finally came it was wrong… the place was busy but not packed. If a Pub is hosting a Timbers viewing party it must be prepared, this place was clearly not. I won’t go back for the food just for the beer. Need to improve the menu choices too.

Definitely a place for apartment yuppies. Cold and uncomfortable. The beer is very expensive(think pearl district) and the food is uninspired(think hot dogs). The owner is some rich guy from Lake Oswego and it’s definitely not a good spot for Hillsboro locals. It’s definitely the right place for some folks though. They don’t allow outside food in but they don’t offer any vegan food so it won’t be likely I come here again.

I didn’t have any food here, just drinks. They have an electronic drink list which is pretty cool. Their space is very open and they have nice outside seating, for our weirdly warm winters now… The downside is there are no prices listed. I ordered a drink and received my drink and still had no idea how much it was. So I handed the bartender a $ 5 bill asking him how much and it took him awhile before he finally said $ 7 for a pint, so in my opinion that is unorganized… and also pretty much the price of a Moda Center drink… Not sure if I would go back, the space echos which makes it very loud inside.

Great beer selection. Only problem I had was that there wasn’t any darts or pool.

Probably the best experience ive had at any bar by far. I was meeting up with old friends from college whom i have not seen in awhile, first they suggested buffalo in which i refused to go which led to us consider mcnallys. I showed up and saw my friends sitting at the bar and was greeted by jim mcnally(the owner) with a sincerity. He first started by asking what i would like to drink and i said hefeweisen. He then suggested a bulgarian hefe called kapuziner. Very very cool and refreshing and has a crisp aftertaste. This is THE hefe to get on a chill summer night. Jim said if i didnt like it he would buy it for me. I took him on his deal and i must say… i was blown away by the quality of the beer. It was on $ 5! Poured into a fine glass with the brand. I also ordered a sour beer that i couldnt afford and jim kept insisting and even helped me pay for the beer… i felt awful for not being able to tip but its just another reason to come back. TL:DR one of a kind service with a great selection of beer

Hillsboro SO needs places to go. It has been a while since this place opened and we are just now getting around to give it a try. It was later on a Saturday evening, and we were hungry and wanted a drink with food so alas, here we are. This is NOT the place to come for food, unless you want pickles, because those pickles were the bomb. This is also not the place to go if you want staff to pay attention to you! I have gluten issues, so I asked the bar-keep what was on tap that was Gluten Free. He looked at me like I was crazy and let me know that he didn’t know. AREYOUKIDDINGME? Finally I went around the corner to the fridge doors and found a nice Atlas Cider. Bonus points for having the Cherry-Pom! While we are looking forward to coming back, in warmer weather, to hang out at the outside tables, we probably won’t make this a regular place. We did meet some nice people sitting next to us though. Bonus for great conversations with strangers!

Finally I’ve gotten around to rate McNally’s Taproom. We’ve lived in Hillsboro(near downtown) now for 3 years, and have been waiting for someone to put a decent brewpub, tap house, or bar downtown that has a host of local beer, and isn’t a total dive, or worse. The facts: they have around 20 taps available, always changing. They have a limited, but good, menu(this is a tap house, not a restaurant) The décor is modern industrial-ish. This is a great place to grab a few pints of micro-brew, play some cars, bones, trivia, watch a game, or just BS with your friends. It’s nice and clean(a bit of a change from other downtown Hillsboro bars) — your could probably even bring your Mom here. There are a few drawbacks. Since it’s a tap house you order from the bar, which can get busy. They could use a few more wine and sparkling wine options to satisfy the non-beer/cider drinkers. Some of the bartenders can be a little too cheeky with the customers. We’ve tried almost everything on the menu. I recommend the Salami and Smoked Gouda Sammich, the Powder Hound dog, the Pretzel, and the German Potato Salad. Look, this is Hillsboro after all, and I can’t tell you how happy we are to have another place close by other than Mc“Minimum“s to go for a decent beer and chow.

I have to knock down McNally’s for the food. I’ve only had 1 item from the food menu. It was one of the foot long hot dogs. The dogs they use are way to small for the size of bun they’ve selected. The bread to meat ration just wasn’t right. Another note on the food is that they may not always have it. This is a big problem. A restaurant has to be consistent. One day we visited was the cook’s day off. I’m not sure if they’ve taken care of that yet. They have a nice beer selection and a respectable bottle selection as well. Price is on par with other taphouses in the area. The service has ranged from adequate to excellent. Mostly right in the middle though. The owner is very nice and seemed eager to hear input from customers. They don’t turn the heat up very high either. It has felt cold each time we’ve visited. Overall, this will be a great place eventually. I’ll definitely try some different food next time and hopefully bump this review up a bit.

Great place for great beer and a bite to eat. Very warm and welcoming and the ambiance is great… can’t wait for summer, large overhead doors open to a large courtyard patio, right off light rail!

Stellar food & taps. Even before the grand opening, the food here is excellent, and a good sign of things to come. In particular, give the house-pickled items a try, and the ale cheese spread.(we tried everything except the bratwurst) The tap selection is also good, with digital boards and plenty of Oregon beers to choose from. The bottle selection is nicely balanced, with enough to cover all the bases while leaving enough room for the main attraction.

Hillsboro went from zero taphouses to three in less than a year. Movin’ on up in the burbs! The location of this place is great, I hope it brings a much needed injection of life to Main Street. The space itself is lofty and industrial, with a fair amount of seating either at the bar, hightop tables or lower ones. They, like the other taphouses in the area, display the brews on tap with details on screens above the bar. They’ve set themselves apart from Orenco in that they have several refrigerators along the back wall full of beers for takeaway or on-the-spot consumption. The beer I ordered was decent, they had some quality choices on tap. I’ll be back to try a tasting board to get a better sense of what’s on offer. They’re definitely still finding their legs, and don’t offer food from their kitchen just yet. They’ve teamed up with Earth Oven so if you want a pizza they will bring it on over with plates and silverware. A nice touch.

What a great addition to downtown Hillsboro! After a summer of waiting, we were excited to step up to the bar and enjoy a pint. This past Saturday, we were able to do just that. McNally’s Taproom is a labor of love and it shows. Every detail has been carefully planned — from the clean lines is the décor to the selection of great craft beers. My husband and I were each able to find just the right pint, with the thoughtful help of the bartender. The kitchen is not yet open, so we were offered a selection of gourmet nuts to snack on. It’s no small thing that on the first night of a soft open, we were both greeted by name as we came in and as we left. We are delighted to have such a great neighbor, and can’t wait to see what else is in store.

Great beer selection. I went for their«soft grand opening and I didn’t know what to expect. I was very impressed by their beer selection, a lot of local, really good beers. And no kitchen services yet, but I think earth oven pizza across the street will deliver. I will definitely be back soon!
