Metro West Ambulance

I’ve used them twice now to transport my wheelchair bound mother to and from doctor appointments. The best thing I can say about this company is that they didn’t lose my mother… I do not intend on giving them a 3^rd shot at it.
The first time they were an hour late to the scheduled pickup (following the appointment). The second time they were 45 minutes late. I was able to pass the time in the hospital lobby by calling dispatch and getting a myriad of excuses as to why they were late. If you’re into long waits and lots of excuses give Metro West a call.

This service is used often to transport patients to and from our office for appointments. I’ve never encountered such a disorganized and disrespectful company. They are constantly late both in dropping people off and then picking them up. We’ve even had return rides show up to pick up patients and take them home before their pickup ride had even shown up to drop them off yet.
We are a dental business we try to accommodate all our patients. But when Metro West consistently gets our patients here 30 – 60 minutes late we can’t help them. We have to send them home as we have other patients to see whose time is just as important. It’s sad because it’s not the patients fault but the driver for Metro West, but there is only so much we can do.
Don’t even get me started on pickup times. If they actually get the patient here it can be HOURS before they can return to get them. 3 – 4 hours or more a patient will have to wait in our lobby. Some of these are medically fragile patients that are now missing meals and medication schedules. It’s often not unusual for our office staff to wait around long after the office is closed so our patients don’t have to be alone on the street corner waiting for a ride. Our office closes at 4:30pm and I think the latest I’ve had to wait here is 8am. It’s to the point that we no longer allow our transportation patients that use Metro West to schedule appointments passed 2:00pm otherwise we’ll more than likely be waiting here until closing or after hours for their ride to show up.
If you are a medical facility and are looking for a company to transport your clients, do NOT use Metro West. I can’t stress this enough.

Not my first choice of transportation, really, but goddamnit when you need one, they are there for you with speed, courtesy, and skill. I’ve had the pleasure/​misfortune of two rides with this company in the last month (not my choice either time) an I have to say that not only are paramedics doing amazing and oft thankless work, but they really helped me through a terrifying time to get safely from one hospital to another, comforting and administering mobile care along the way.
I regret that I got neither staff member’s name to contact them personally to thank them, but my guess is there is a not a staff member in the whole company who is not as equally dedicated to the job.
5 stars for a smooth ride, safe and quick transportation, and excellent care.
