Bagels 4 U

The last time I ate here, I got a bacon egg and cheese on a blueberry bagel. Got into the car, bit into my bagel and had this «fuzzy» feeling on my tongue, just didn’t feel right. I instinctively spit it out then examined my bagel. There was OBVIOUS greenish blue mold around the blueberries and inside the bagel. How anyone served me this with a clear conscience, I will never understand. When I went back in, had to argue with a lady who told me tha t it was normal, and how they are supposed to be. I almost yelled at her because I felt like she was insulting my intelligence. After going back and forth she refunded my cash. NEVER went back.

This place has great bagels, but their service is pretty bad. Half the time they ask you 3 – 4 times what your order is again, or they just mess it up. For example, today I ordered a bagel with butter and jelly and received a bagel with the smallest trace of jelly, you could barely even see it. Definitely couldn’t taste it.
They also need to separate the line into two lines: people who want breakfast sandwiches and people who only want loose bagels/​bagels with cream cheese, butter, jelly, whatever. With the way things are now… Don’t even attempt to go there on a Saturday or Sunday morning, unless you have a half an hour to kill.

The only bagels in the area that are like the bagels I grew up with in Brooklyn. The other places have only imitation bagels. Service is very slow, however. Took 15 minutes just to get 8 bagels to go.

Literally in line right now. The bagels are good and the coffee is good but every time you go; you have to account for 30 mins of your time waiting for service. There is always a huge line and super slow service.

if you want an amazing jersey style bagel look no further! great breakfast, big cream cheese selection and fresh coffee always! every location is very consistent with their product so if you see another store you know you will get the same quality product and service. love this place! highly recommended!!!

If you like your order being correct, don’t come here. I keep giving them second chances, but not anymore.

I have been coming here for a while now every time I leave I question why I come back. The service is terrible the workers are rude. I called to place an order they told me to call back in 5 minutes I just never called back. Sometimes they don’t have the air conditioning in so you sweat standing in like forever. If the bagels weren’t so good I would never come back. They need help in the customer service department.

Prices seem fair. My large Hazelnut coffee and an everything bagel with Nova spread was under $ 8.00. I would have ordered another bagel but may opt for a frozen 6 pack for $ 2.00… and come back tomorrow

Extremely overpriced. Asked for a Taylor ham and cheese and got a tiny bagel with lunch meat and sliced cheese. Didn’t even toast it or melt the cheese. All that was 7 $??? 2 bagels and 2 drinks was 17.75. Never coming back.

Big turnaround story. The bagels have always been good and the coffee is best in town for sure. Service has improved 100% and the Spanish girls are getting the orders correct and customers are much happier. The girls are working hard to serve the customers and the results speak for themselves. Be sure to tip these girls, we need to keep them at Bagels 4 U!

TERRIBLE! They are incredibly rude. Meat was bad on my sandwich and when I tried to return it I was laughed at, and they refused to refund me all my money and cursed at me from behind the counter. The chef was also picking her nose. I’m not sure if this place is more rude or disgusting. Get you bagels elsewhere!

If you compare the ratings of this location to the ratings of the raritan location you can see that the bagels aren’t the problem. The bagels are excellent. They’re made fresh onsite and the place is usually packed so they don’t last. I don’t believe I’ve ever gotten a stale bagel here or at the Raritan location and if I were to take a blind taste I don’t think I could discern between a bagel from Hillsborough versus one from Raritan and so I think the difference is due mostly to staff and possibly layout and management.
Basically everyone reviewing this location says to watch the staff because they’re Spanish speakers and they’ll most likely get your order wrong and this is, to some extent true, yet the staff at the Raritan location is also mostly South American and they almost never get your order wrong, so either their English is better or they’re trained a bit differently or their setup works better for them. I don’t know what the problem is, but while I agree that the staff here can fuck up your order pretty spectacularly, the bagels (and everything else) are really very good. And you know, if you speak slowly, point at what you want and watch them as they work, you should be ok. I know patience is not a virtue most people posses early in the morning, or when they’re hungry, but if you try your best and help them out the staff will work with you. They’re not jerks and do it on purpose; English just happens to be their second language.

The bagels are the best you will find. The fixings are equally delicious (my favorite is chicken salad).
Yes, the order-​taking/​order-​making system isn’t the best. A toasted bagel says those who had bad experiences were probably assholes, because the staff have never been anything but kind to me. Of course, I also don’t get in a huff about how long I’ve waited.
It is always worth the wait. Always.

As other reviewers have said, the bagels here are the best around but the service and attitude are the worst I’ve ever seen. I eat here fairly often (3 days a week) and usually don’t mind the terrible service. Today was the straw that broke my back… the normally absent manager was her and actually add my food today. She made the worst sandwich I’ve had here. She didn’t cut it through and It completely fell apart. In addition the eggs were running all over the wrapper and ultimately me. If the boss sucks then it seems unlikely the new staff is going to be trained correctly. Finally when I said something to the counter person, within ear shot of the manager…, the supposed boss walked away. No apology… no how can we do it better… just silence. I will not be back again

These bagels were dry and small. Could for sure get a better bagel somewhere else. For example Java Joes is better.

Bagels 4 U is just okay. It’s not the best around, but not the worst either. The bagels are sometimes quite good, but other times they are just okay. Sometimes the onion bagels are burnt. They sometimes get the order wrong too. The people who work here are also not terribly friendly or quick. It’s not a bad bagel place, it’s just not the first one I chose to go to in the area.

Bagels 4 U definitley fits into that category of I’ve experienced better. Not bad, but definitely nothing special. Prices are a bit high. Service is not very good. Sandwiches and bagels are just ok. Much better in the area. I would check out Bagel Bistro.
