Beautiful gallery right in the heart of downtown HISTORIC Hillsborough! Lots of large windows give the gallery a wonderful, warm, sunny glow and artists specializing in all sorts of mediums. If you like LOCAL products, arts and materials, check this place out! While MOST galleries are closed on Mondays, Hillsborough Gallery of Arts was OPEN! The space itself is filled with art for sale: metal work including jewelry, sculpture, blown glass, mosaics, tapestries, letter-​pressed work (handmade cards), photography, wood work (including pieces with HISTORIC wood – taken straight from Ayr Mount!). BUT not only do they have local arts work throughout the gallery, they also have a separate, ROTATING gallery in the back! The lady working in the store on our visit was small town friendly. I would definitely make a point to visit this gallery again in the future. Prices are reasonable and you know you’re helping local artists.

Getting ready to Celebrate their sixth Year of Business!!! Original Works of Art! Many Paintings, some Metal Works, Great variety of Styles, All Great Quality from more than 20 Artists and GROWING!!! This is a nice sized Gallery with an approach similar to a Co-​Op yet better! These folks are Friendly, Down-​to-​Earth, Unpretentious and very easy to talk with! The Artists work here and are glad to talk about ALL of the Works in this Cool Gallery!

If you like to buy original art, check out this cool local gallery in downtown Hillsborough, with 15 different contributing artists working in paint, clay, wood, glass, and fibers. Two spacious rooms and a hallway are full of interesting and diverse pieces. The installations change constantly, and they have special featured artist exhibits every month. When you visit, you’ll probably encounter one of the gallery’s artists, as they all run the place co-​op style. They’ll be happy to talk with you about their work and the gallery operations.
