I’d say «eh», just ok. Soft tacos were delicious (if you want to try something unusual, go for the tongue tacos). The combo plate was not as good… Meat was dry and a little burnt. I’ll give these guy another chance… may-​be just I caught them on an off night. As an alternative El Azteka in Park Ridge is pretty good.

I came in here because of other reviews I read from my fellow Unilocaler’s. I am very happy I did. This place is legit. It’s very authentic. I ordered a taco sampler. I asked the young lady to make me the most popular ones. I had one steak, one Chirizo, one carnitas and one chicken. They were all so fresh and tasty. My favorite was the Chirizo. It had the perfect blend of spice. The taco itself is hand made fresh to order. Very soft.

Solid food! Small joint, but we enjoyed our meal and was satisfied by the quality. If I was in Hillsdale again and wanted tacos or a torta, this would be the move.

Small little railroad car churning out awesome food. Slightly hole in the wall in terms of appearance but don’t let that fool you. Eat in if you are a small group and want to sit at the counter/​few tables or do takeout. Guacomole is always spot on and their salsa has really great fresh flavor. Among our fav’s are the chalupas, enchiladas, camarones mexican style and chile rellanos (not always available). Staff is always very friendly. Since everything is made to order it can take some time as cooking area is limited but it’s well worth it. Give them a try and don’t judge the book by the cover!

Great, authentic Mexican food made to order. Mostly takeout but has a bar for casual eat-​in dining. Really enjoyed the quesasdillas and the tacos. Salsa is spicy and delicious, guacamole is very fresh and tasty – really tastes homemade. Friendly service and reasonable prices!

LOVE this place!!! It is so amazing!!! The food is fresh, delicious, prepared & cooked right in front of you! It’s a small diner that the food is made with love! The owners are so hard working and so nice. They do a great job of keeping the restaurant clean and making the customers happy.

Hole in the wall? Check. Slow service? Check. But super delicious Mexican food? Double check. When my husband and I arrived on a Sunday an hour before closing, there were only 2 people there. However 10 minutes later, the place was absolutely packed. It was all mostly to-​go orders, since there is only a ten seat counter, and a small 2 person table. Yes, the women that work there speak Spanish, but English is completely understood. We ordered tacos and a burrito dish that was more like an enchilada dish. Everything was super yummy. If you are eating in, you get a small portion of chips and salsa. The salsa is really really good. I don’t want anyone else to go there, because I want to continue to go there and have it not be mobbed. But I really loved this place, and they deserve every good review.

I can’t say enough good things about their amazing food. Don’t judge by the unassuming appearance, their food is consistently fresh and delicious. Food arrival does take a bit of time due to the single cook but it is always made to order right in front of you. No matter, it’s still a favorite lunch spot and we just grab a seat at the counter. Don’t expect fancy, just a solid joint for ridiculously tasty and authentic mexican food.

This is how Mexican food is supposed to be, cheap, full of flavor, and awesome. This small hole in the wall seems to do more take out but there is counter seating and the lady behind the counter is very nice. The tacos are authentic and delicious, but simple at the same time. The tongue, and head tacos were my favorite, but the chicken and pork were good too. The quesadilla was awesome too, cheesy, gooey goodness, and they put re-​fried beans in them… what! I will be back for more!

So there’s an authentic Mexican taco joint hiding in the middle of Hillsdale, go figure. Heard about this place from a good friend. If you weren’t looking for it, you’d definitely miss it. It’s a lunch counter, where most of the seating is on a bar facing the cooking area.
The prices are cheap, and the food is great. I had the tongue, head, pork, and chicken tacos. Very authentic, just onions, cilantro, and lime on two flour tortillas. We also tried the chicken quesadillas and a bit of the beef burritos. They were also excellent. This place is open til 10pm too, so you can get your taco fix even late.

Love their food! We recently moved to the area and were told Blue Moon was a must… well that was a HUGE disappointment. Then, while exploring I saw Cinco De Maya and it was the best find so far! Great food, great prices and generous portions. And they deliver! Home run!

I went to this place for the first time with my family as we got a Groupon but since then we stated loving this place. Food seemed fresh and not too spicy. Also interior was good. Staff friendly and ambient. We ordered anchiladas, fajita and more other stuff. We loved the food. It’s like not tooooo good but not bad as well. I can give 3.5÷5. Took little more time to serve actual food. Wait was more but over all not bad.

This is not authentic Mexican food. Food is all pre –cooked and prepared in Subway like containers. A tin of kidney beans (no black) ready to put in all meals with some rice. They only have the small round corn tortillas that they dip in the deep fryer to warm up. No peppers or onions or other veggies to add to taco or burritos. They don’t make large burritos. Food quality is just poor and something you could make on your own at home in a microwave with some fast food style Mexican American ingredients. Amount of serving is large. I love the dive bar atmosphere but the food matches the décor.
