Hands down the best local dark chocolate! Love the dipped fruit and yummy sundaes! Definitely makes a great gift to take home.

Got there ice coffee with coffee cubes in it which is a bonus and the peanut butter smoothie. Both were really good and refreshing on a hot day.

This is the best chocolate I’ve ever had. 100% grown and produced on Hawaii. They also have fresh brewed coffee that you can get mixed with chocolate. Tom, the owner, opened up for us on a Monday when they are closed and let us taste everything before making our selections. Highly recommended if you’re near Hilo!

Very good customer service. I love that they use Organic ingredients that’s a deal breaker for me. Chocolates taste so good. They also sell shakes and taro burgers which I will try on my next visit!

It’s pretty expensive for chocolate, but almost everything sold is home grown and home made, so there is a lot of work which goes into making it all. I’d consider this high end Chocolate for sure. Overall, the staff was friendly, the shop was cramped but had a cool vibe.

We stopped here for an iced coffee on our way to volcano national park & I’m so happy we chose this place! Besides having a good, strong iced coffee(with coffee ice cubes so it won’t get watered down– love it!!), I also got one of their home-made chocolate products(chocolate covered bananas)… It was delicious. The owner explained how he grows & picks his own cocoa beans & makes everything himself in the store. Truly a unique place!

I love how their prime focus is to try and offer organic, natural, & healthy alternatives for their customers! No matter how the weather is in Hilo; rainy or blazing hot… just remember, Hawaiian Crown will your frown upside-down! Most especially, their kope kakao does just the trick!

Came to this place because of the good reviews on Unilocal — I was looking for Hawai’ian chocolate and coffee. Approaching the door, what a beautiful chocolate fragrance– and as you open the door to go in, it is so intense! delightful. No disappointment here. My favorite bar is the dark chocolate with nibs. Love the outdoor tables – shady, intimate, and little cacao trees so you can see where it all comes from. The coffee/hot chocolate will make your day! Meeting the proprietors, Tom and Oona, was a pleasure.

( Unilocal is wrong this place is in Hilo NOT Honolulu). This is the Best most adorable little chocolate place. Right next-door to D & S bed-and-breakfast, they make that whole section of the street smell like chocolate. All of the chocolate was delicious but the european-style drinking Coco was amazing and the DARKMILK variety was outstanding. The best of both milk and dark chocolates all rolled into one. So good. Don’t miss this Hilo gem. For preservation reasons they do not keep the chocolate out. So you have to ask for what you want to buy. They do give samples though of all the different flavors. They make the cutest little chocolate turtles, and the obligatory chocolate covered macadamia nuts. And they carry a kava chocolate bar, for the experimental. Highly recommended.

We went to this amazing Store in Hilo today for probably the best cup of hot chocolate I have ever had! The owner grows the trees, roasts the cacao, creates the delicious delicacies right there in the store. We also got some gorgeous chocolate candies to take home. There is a nice outdoor seating area. I recommend visiting this place.

Amazing! Delicious! Fantastic! These are a few words that I would use to describe Hawaiian Crown Plantation and Chocolate Factory. We found this place on accident… we were walking around the farmers market and came upon it as we continued our walk. It’s a cute place, about medium size… down the street from Two Ladies Kitchen. We met Tom and his daughter Oona and they were able to educate us on the chocolate that they make. They turn their beans into chocolate candy and they make hot chocolate as well. Their local chocolate is grown by them and they also produce fruit from their farm as well… like pineapples. The chocolate samples that we tasted were amazing and helped us make our decision on what to buy. I wasn’t able to try the hot chocolate this time, but I did buy the Dark Milk chocolate turtles, 70% Dark chocolate turtles, and the Dark Milk Salted Macadamia nut chocolates. Everything was so yummy I regretted not buying more. We also took home some cacao nibs as well… so excited to bake with them. I will be back for that hot chocolate!
