They recently remodeled, and changed the name to Seafire, and I must say it’s nice. Last time I went the place seemed dated, and a little pricey for the food I got. This time the food seemed a bit more fresh, and the service was topnotch. Our waiter, Niko, gave us our own table, because it was our anniversary. We ordered a couple of cocktails, since we were celebrating. My wife thought her cocktail was just okay, it was some kind of pineapple thing, and it was a little heavy on the booze. I had the bloody Mary and it was amazing, it’s practically an appetizer, there’s shrimp, bacon, olives, and okra. It was just the right amount of spicy, and salty. The hibachi was outstanding, the rice and vegetables were cooked just right, by a nice young lady, who said she was the only female cook, I wish I could remember her name. She was amazing, and fun. I got the shrimp and steak, and it was just perfect, the shrimp was all deveined, and the steak was cooked just right.

Chef Yoshi was awesome. Sushi was delicious. Great experience until the bill came. Don’t use a gift card. They will add a large gratuity regardless of party size and base it on the meal cost plus tax. Very shady.

Outstandingly friendly service, amazing preparation of food on the hibachi grill and very tasty food. Watch out for those tricks the chef pull while cooking! Highly entertaining! Hot Saki was delicious. Atmosphere is comfortable and encourages people to get to know one another. We ended up going out for dessert with a couple we met at our table. Highly recommend.

Just flat out gross. The chef put an egg shell on my plate and then put the rice on top of it and expected me to eat it. Don’t go here.

We went for the early-bird special and it was a good value at $ 18.95 for steak, chicken and shrimp. It was the standard Japanese steakhouse hibachi grill. The service was good, but our chef seemed new and was just okay for entertainment. The rice was a little bland, but not sure why more seasonings weren’t added. Some of the other chefs were very good.

We had reservations for 4 for 7 pm and still waited 15 minutes. When they finally seated us at hibachi table, we waited another 15 minutes – no one even approached our table to take a drink order. We eventfully got up and left. Never tasted the food but the service was terrible!

Décor: Blah… Dirty… Service: Horrible This has to be one of the most poorly run restaurants I have ever been to. Do not waste your time. Reserved a table for four and waited 15 minutes to be seated. Once we were seated at a totally over booked table, we never were approached for drinks or water or anything. After waiting for 15 minutes and not getting any service what so ever we decided to walk out. The people around us were very unhappy. I sat and watched a pathetic display of hibachi at the surrounding tables as I waited in disgust. This has to be the worst hibachi restaurant I have sat in. Chef Ramsey would have a field day with this dump.

Probably the most mediocre hibachi ive ever had in my life. Lacks flavor. No fried egg in the fried rice?! The mutany! The sushi is ok. Everything is just ok. Get it together, hilton head.

This place has all of the basics you would expect from a Japanese hibachi place. Lots of food, decent entertainment and high prices. Our experience was good even though we sat down right at 6 and therefor missed the early bird pricing by minutes. The chef that cooked for us was attentive and made it fun for the kids. Food was cooked well and tasted as you would expect. Our chef didn’t try throwing food to have us catch it in our mouths but that’s okay per they use the shrimp versus eggs like I am used to and if it hits anywhere other than your mouth you have stained clothing. Anyways. The other thing we didn’t know is that kids eat free on a lot of menu items on Thursdays, so plan to go then and even better before 6p to get free kids meals and early bird pricing.

I asked for extra vegetables, and because of that everyone else got shorted. On the bright side, I got a million extra onions.

Great food and prices during happy hour. Typical Japanese Steakhouse menu but what is better than other Japanese Steakhouses is sitting with others and making new friends. You will even run into some locals that come here for dinner. The show is typically a good show and the wait staff is usually on it with drink refills. The kids will love it.

If we could give zero stars we would. We waited an hour for 2 people to be seated when we were told it would be 30 minutes. Then we got seated the waiter Wad extremely frazzled and very chaotic. It took us an hour from the time we sat down to get the cook. After that everything was ok because our cook was great. Cons: temperature in the resteraunt hot as hades Wait time sucked Hostess did not know how to do their job right Server was all over the place Food was not worth the money we paid. Pros: Sushi was good Cook was great

While there are many reviews on here that are frankly all over the place in sentiment, I’m going to comment more on the one-on-one experience my wife and I had. We took the hour long making class and we’re thrilled to learn we were being taught by the owner. We were welcomed with a beverage and a private table with all of the necessary sushi making provisions in front of us. The owner was quick to explain each and every step and of course answer our many questions. When asked his favorite maki roll, without hesitation he started into a oba and cucumber roll which was amazing in its simplicity. Overall we were shown the proper way to assemble, roll, cut and serve maki rolls. While we realize this is just scratching the surface it was a uniquely fun experience anyhow. We’ll certainly be back next time we are in HH to try more of what Kurama has to offer.

After debating what to have for dinner, we decided on Kurama. We had excellent service from our server and the chef. The chef was very entertaining and made us laugh! We were able to sample the ribeye steak, teriyaki chicken, filet and shrimp. The shrimp was perfect and the teriyaki chicken was flavorful oo! As a fan of dumplings, the dumplings were a welcome surprise! I went with my boyfriend and parents which was a great double date location!

Not the best Hibachi but not the worst either. they don’t have noodles where most restaurants typically do. Good chicken and filet mignon though. The fried rice was good as well. Overall, not a bad place.

This place was good. Service great, good tasty. We had a female chef Jessica, she was great! Maybe lacking confidence a bit but did a fine job, very friendly could tell she was still learning but kinda cool neven had a female as a teppan chef before. The food was very good only issue I had was no egg in rice? Great early bird specials! Was a fun time !

Food was good and acceptable for the price that was paid. The chefs were very entertaining and kept the kids distracted, even though we had 6 kids under 6. I had the filet and scallops and everything was cooked perfectly. Décor is a little dated and could use a cleaning, but I’ve seen dirtier. We only waited for 20 mins for a party of 12 at about 7:30.

Lame. Great service, but food was tasteless and chef did no tricks and skipped eggs for fried rice. 2 stars is a pity gift, deserved 1.

Kurama kills it with their flavors. Sure the place could use a cleaning, but so could ever other hibachi restaurant I have ever been to. Kurama has been able to succeed on Hilton Head Island for years. This is a feat many restaurants have been unable to accomplish. They have the support of both the tourist and locals. The Early Bird should not be missed. Call and make a reservation for Early Bird. Great options and affordable prices. Kids love the show. Adults love the flavors of the food. They have two fantastic dipping sauces, Yum Yum Sauce and Ginger Sauce. Even leftovers taste great. Go for a fun, laid-back, casual experience and you will not be disappointed.

This tepponyaki restaurant is so much better than it has any right to be on the island. I’ve been coming to Hilton Head for a decade, and I would agree with some of the negative reviews — until my visit yesterday. The whole restaurant looked much cleaner and brighter than it has in the past. The food has always been good, and FYI, since no one seemed to mention, they have an early bird menu from 4:30 to 6 pm, it includes a 3 combo with steak, chicken and shrimp for $ 16 or $ 17, you really can’t beat that. It also has two rolls for $ 10 and edamame, and this is one of my two complaints, my sushi(california for my cousin and spicy tuna for me) were rolled really poorly. They were loose and uneven, rice falling apart. Kind of a disgrace to be honest, I might have been more annoyed if the flavors weren’t good, but it tasted fine so I guess I was more disappointed visually. My other complaint is that they really skimped on the veggies, I was a little annoyed because I would have ordered double portions of them if I had known they changed that. I have mixed feelings about the service, our chef was excellent, but our server was extremely slow and I was waiting and waiting for water, my cousin actually had another waitress bring him more beer. Service is probably the reason I dropped them a star.
