Pretty Papers

My husband and I come to Hilton Head every year — it’s something we look forward to in an effort to get away from the hustle and bustle of living in the Northern Virginia/​DC area. While here I decided to look for wedding invitations for our daughter. I had been told about Pretty Papers and went there on yesterday, September 1, 2015. When I arrived, I was greeted by a pleasant salesperson who told me that the person who knows best about wedding invitations had just left to go walk the dog and would be back in 5 min. I told her that I would just look around the store instead of going through the many books on hand there. The other sales associate who had been walking the dog returned and upon her return the sales associate who greeted me when I arrived shared with her what I was looking for. Right at that time, the phone rang and the person who was supposed to have been helping me devoted what was supposed to have been my time, to the person on the phone. She never even acknowledged that I was there after having waiting for her to walk the dog. She never even stopped to ask what it was I was looking for. While she was on the phone, I waited and thought surely she will end the telephone conversation soon. I decided that whatever wedding invitations they sold were simply not worth the poor customer service that I was receiving. So I left the store. Never to return again. Perhaps it might have appeared that my money wasn’t long enough for what they sold – or maybe this is how all African Americans are treated? I really don’t know and won’t find out. I was totally outdone. Before getting to the store, I had just gotten a text from my daughter listing all the final specifics she wanted in her invitations as I was prepared and hoping to work with Pretty Papers. But that won’t happen. I won’t recommend this store and I won’t be back.
The ONE star is only for the person that greeted me when I got to the store.

This unique shop is much more than cards and stationary. They carry high quality gift items from whimsical to downright gorgeous. Attention to customer service is 1^st rate. Love, love, love to browse whenever I visit Hilton Head.
