Very friendly and welcoming staff, despite the fact that we arrived close to closing time. Reasonably priced food, especially for Hilton Head. And the tacos — chorizo, chicken, pastor, and carnitas between us — were great, especially the carnitas and chorizo. Delicious chips and fantastic salsa bar as well. Nice clean restaurant, too, which is always pleasant.

Went here our first night in Hilton Head. Took a chance and was very glad we did. Chips and salsa were grear. I ordered Fajitas and they were some of the best I’ve ever had. My wife got enchiladas and loved them also. Kids got Fajitas and likes them so all and all a grear experience. Waitstaff were very pleasant and accommodating.

My husband and I are vegans. Even though they do not offer an vegetarian or vegan items on the menu, they were super accommodating and the vegetables were absolutely delish and fresh. We both got black bean burritos with rice and veggies. Super nice staff too. Best authentic Mexican I’ve had.

Excellent Mexican food in a strip mall. Tacos were tasty and fresh. Service was swift and thoughtful. Prices were very compelling. Kids and adults all left happy.

The guacamole was good. The rice and beans were also good. They were out of cheese dip and the pork in the carnitas tacos was very fatty.

The food was alright. The salsa and rice were good, but the flauntas were not. They were frozen before cooking and ended up being over fried. The food also needed some seasoning. We went because of the Unilocal reviews, but when we arrived the place was virtually empty. No ambiance and we were the only non-Hispanics there. Won’t be eating at this establishment again.

Do not know what real mexican food is supposed to taste like but I do know what excellent mexican food tastes like thanks to Juan at this location. Some proficiency in Spanish would be good since our waitress did not speak english very well. Juan came out of the kitchen to take our orders. We were there during a slow pm. Had a great visit with Juan about his always fresh foods and how they are prepared. We have zero knowledge of spanish and were treated very well(and patiently) by the staff. Don’t miss this location when you need a great meal(or two), I took half the burrito home.

We were starving and circling around the area for a place for lunch. We wandered in, the only non– locals. The food was delicious. The service, lovely. Good taqueria fare: warm, yummy corn tortillas, hot salsas, fresh fish, great beans

We found this place by accident on a Friday at lunchtime. The clientelle are mostly hispanic working class people and families — exactly whom we hoped to find there. We ordered tacos, a beef quesadilla and a shrimp dish. Everything was delicious and beautifully presented and served by an attentive waitress. She brought chips and salsa to start and gave us more when we blew through the original basket. We love this place.

First of all, the service isn’t that great. We sat there for 5 – 10 minutes, without a menu. Finally the waitress came and we took our orders. I ordered cheese quesadilla with pork and it was pretty good. The cheese was very cheesy though. The pork was really good, but a little chewy. It’s was a good size meal for any age. They added beans, rice, and some veggies.

Authentic mexican food for cheap! Service was fast and pleasant. Right away my mom and I noticed we were the only non-spanish speaking customers, which we took as a sign that the food was authentic and tasty– it was! The food exceeded expectation based on price.

Oh dear. We so wanted to like this place. After a few nights of «fancy» dinners at upscale spots, we just wanted some inexpensive Mexican comfort food, but maybe with a seafood spin to it. To be fair, we did not eat here. We were already skeptical looking at the menu and when the chips arrived that looked like they were out of the bag from a grocery deli and there was no Mexican beer available out of the 5 listed on the menu, we decided to pass. After looking at other reviews in the area, we decided to skip Mexican in Hilton Head. Went for pizza instead.

We happened upon this place just by chance. Usually when there’s a mexican restaurant right next to a mexican supermarket it can be seen as a good omen. The food was pretty good. It came with some very flavorful salsas to add some heat. We ordered the steak taco salad, fajitas, and some tacos. The taco salad had an abundance of meat and fresh vegetables. There was also celery in the salad. Good but definitely different. The fajitas were good and came with a lot of steak and chicken. The flavor was very well seasoned the veggies were nice and carmelized. The two tacos we ordered were the al pastor and tripa(tripe). The pastor taco had great flavor from the chilis and mexican cinnamon. The tripe taco was definitely the standout. The tripe was cut in big chunks and deep fried. The flavor was soo porky and delicious. Overall a very good meal. The service was ok but the server didn’t speak english. There was a bit of difficulty communicating. But that was to be expected.

I love me a taqueria, so clearly I sought out this little eatery a bit off the beaten path while visiting Hilton Head Island. Sadly I was a tad disappointed when I walked out the front door as I did not have the overwhelmingly positive experience that some fellow Unilocalers have noted. The service was extremely slow and not totally efficient(ie, I was initially not given any tortillas for the fajitas that I ordered) and the food simply was not all that amazing. Yes, it was definitely authentic Mexican fare and very reasonably priced, but I did not find it all that flavorful. That being said, I would definitely give this place another try if I were in Hilton Head for a more extended period of time if only for the fact that I love Mexican food and don’t have the financial assets to afford a lot of the food on this island!
