PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE take my advice and DONOT bother booking at this resort. The pictures shown on the RCI website are NOT for the properties managed by THERESALECOMPANY, who apparently manages the Sea Pines Resort vacation villas available through RCI booking. The grounds pictures are accurate, for the entire plantation, but NOT for the apartment/condo style villas that are booked. They are not homes, there are no 4-poster mahogany beds or picturesque views of the golf course from the bedroom window. Our unit(883 Ketch Ct) was VERY dated(like 1988 dated), which would have been OKAY if it was properly cleaned and maintained. However, it was NOT. Every piece of furniture(including lamp shades) had unrecognizable stains. In anticipation of staying for the week, we brought groceries to prepare meals. However, the kitchen lacked any cooking essentials and had some dishes that appeared to have been collected haphazardly from the Goodwill. My niece, starving by the time we arrived, attempted to make some noodles but when she went to rinse the ONE pot out there were about 3 layers of dirt. So much so that once she finished the sponge looked like she did a whole load of Thanksgiving dishes. The carpet and floors made us feel like we needed socks AND shoes at all times. The bathrooms needed to be hosed with bleach because there were stains EVERYWHERE, including(the worst of all) in the toilet. It appears that at best the«cleaning company» might have used a few Lysol wipes but it was definitely NOT appropriately cleaned. There was not an area in the place that was comfortable to relax. Luckily, we brought some linens and towels(although the unit had them available we could not trust they were cleaned appropriately) so we put sheets on the living room furniture to huddle around the TV to make it through the night. Since the unit was FARBELOW my family’s standards, we only stayed one night(instead of 7)…albeit VERY uncomfortably sleeping in our clothes. We were excited about this vacation for months before the trip so it was very disappointing to have cut our trip so short. We did move into a hotel for the next night to at least be able to make the 9-hour drive worth it.(NOTE: The drive is normally 5 hours from my home but traffic was horrific on our travel day.) When I called the RESALECOMPANY to complain about the poor condition of our unit the sales representative confirmed that all of their units are dated, even though this is NOT consistent with what is advertised on the RCI website. The manager suggested that because we booked the last week of the year the unit had not yet been«refreshed» and was scheduled for the following week. When I asked what exactly«refreshed» meant, she confirmed it didn’t mean updated or renovated, it only meant a «deep cleaning». This is absurd to me because I would expect that units are thoroughly cleaned after each family visit. She did offer my family another week, free of charge; however, my family has vowed that we would NEVER return there and stay with the same company knowing what they consider acceptable. (NOTE: I tried to add pictures but they did not come out very clear. Hopefully, my review is descriptive enough for you to get the idea and heed my advice.)

These ladies never respond to calls, questions or anything. Sending out fees is usually 2 – 3YEARS late, so you get a bill for thousands. There is always a reason and an excuse from them. I am surprised they have any business at all. Very unprofessional folks. Would not ever use them again for anything. Not sure what the fees we do pay are for as the property is usually run down. They have to be the laughing stock of the timeshare community!

Due to a HORRIBLEBUGINFESTATION at the Twin Oaks Resort on Sea Pines Plantation, we had to vacate the premises and pay out of pocket for a more sanitary place to stay. When a live roach ran across my 1-year-old’s breakfast tray the first morning of our stay, after I had to kill 7 palmetto bugs and other cockroaches the night before, that was enough for me to put in a call to management voicing my concerns. My mother hasn’t been able to visit any of her units in over 10yrs, so when she lent us her week, she was appalled at how badly her property has been mistreated. For more details, please look at the pictures and read the letter I sent to management(All are attached). It’s been almost three weeks and I have yet to hear anything back from the management company. They don’t pick up when I call, and they haven’t returned my call. Our family has known Theresa and Judy since 1997 and we purchased multiple timeshare weeks. For them to ignore any correspondence or come back to us without any plan of action is really disheartening and frustrating to say the least. The attitude we received when we brought this to the management’s attention in person was inexcusable and — at best — disrespectful in tone. This was the initial response: «Well I have bugs in MYHOUSE, so what’s the problem?» The combative tone and the lackadaisical retort was enough for me make up my mind that they clearly did not care about making us happy or taking care of the problem. No one should have to deal with bugs in their house or on vacation.(Please see the pictures). It’s painfully obvious that Theresa and Judy — have been collecting money from our annual dues and pocketing it, without performing the necessary updates and maintenance on the unit, disregarding their responsibilities.(Please see the pictures) We will be looking into finding out what our options are and will report them to the Better Business Bureau if we do not get any resolution or plan of action in place. How many other people are they ripping off?
