Excellent food and service. You won’t be disappointed. The cocktails were exceptional also.

When you go to Vine, you feel like you’ve been personally invited by the owner for a special dinner. From the first interaction with the host until the time you leave, the staff takes care of your every need, making sure your evening is perfect(seriously, your candle will never melt down too far, and i don’t think my glass was ever less than half full). The food is always top notch and the presentation is very well done. I ordered a duck dish that was served flambé and Steve the owner personally came to explain why it was done in that manner, what it added, and finally topped it with some well placed freshly shaved salt. What particularly struck me as being above and beyond, it was noted that i was drinking a wine that was not as good of a match with the dish i had as the staff would like(i like sweet whites), so they had brought me a small bit of a better matched wine to help me enjoy the meal more, and, i gotta tell you, they were right. if you want to wowed for food and service, this is the place to go. I know this level of service isn’t’ for everyone, but i cannot recommend Vine enough.

Service was excellent. Food was good, but I didn’t love it for the price. I would not personally go back, but I encourage you to try for yourself.

Disclaimer: Only celiacs should read on, no one else should take note. Our waiter was nice, the only reason for 2 stars. After questioning, he discovered the butterfish dinner noted in bold as «gluten free» on the menu was marinated in normal soy sauce(with wheat). When asked, we said we’d be willing to talk the chef or the owner to find a solution, but neither found it worthwhile to come to our table in the end. We don’t believe or expect that every restaurant should serve gluten free options. It’s why we ask questions up front. We were really excited to eat here. However, this place shouldn’t suggest compliance when they are so off base(and so defensive).

The food was amazing; atmosphere nice, server delightful. The chef is a little nuts but we let it go since the food was so flavorful.

What an unexpected adorable, cozy spot in a shopping center. The place is tiny, so make a reservation. We sat outside which was a nice romantic setting. The servers were all so happy and nice. We had the caprese tower to start. They sprinkle it with a crystalized basil that is amazing! My husband had the osso buco and I had the filet with foie gras special. Both of our meals were really delicious. My only complaints for the dinner would be they didn’t mention the prices of the specials. My special entrée turned out to be $ 52. I’d say that’s a little on the high side for what I got and where I was. Also, after seeing the bill I regret not saying, «this isn’t medium rare but rather medium well». Oh well. Lastly the bread they serve leaves a lot to be desired. I love bread and butter so for me, I don’t see the point in serving it unless its delicious, hot and fresh. This place is more of a special occasion spot and they heard us mention we were in SC to celebrate and picked up on that and brought us an amazing tiramisu on the house. Very nice!

Had a amazing dinner here a few days ago. Nice small cozy place with a great chef. The chef even entertained with a banjo. I had a three layer filet with fois gras and it was amazing. My brother has Chilean sea bass which was equally amazing. Also has a nice Ahi appetizer. Looking forward to next golf trip.

Fabulous dinner here last night. We stumbled on this place(been coming to HHI for 16 years) and had a drink the other night with the great ‘Libationist’ Paula and decided to make dinner plans with our friends-their first time to HHI. Dulce was literally one of the best servers we have had in a long time. We all thought so. She is so sweet and fun and really knew the menu. Great martini-strawberry basil and can’t wait to go back and try the blackberry lavender martini. Our food choices all wonderful: starters of the beet salad and caprese tower with crispy basil on top, veal chop with truffle fries(YUM), Sea bass, Butterfish and the Octopus. We didn’t have room for dessert, but I’m saving room next time for sure-all so unique and sound so worth it.

Very NYC ish small boutique– like place, so very crowded. Expect to spend at least $ 100 or more per person depending on cost of wine which can be very high but great selections. Limited but Very Unusual and delightful food preparations termed: «Asian Caribbean fusion». But imho Disappointing portions for the price. If you care about cost of specials, ask the price because they were $ 20 more than the menu items which averaged mid to high$ 30s. I had veal chop which was disappointing: Covered in great sauce but fatty and smallish for $ 57! Seemed more like rib eye. Beet appetizer served in martini glass with goat cheese and strawberrys was awesome, sweet and very filling… tasted almost like a dessert. Waiter writes everything down by hand including check(no computer!!!). Entrée Service was slow.

As a self proclaimed foodie I live for experiences like Vine. All aspects of our meal were top notch: Food, waiter, manager, and chef(playing classical guitar after finishing in the kitchen). I recommend anything on the menu, but the caprese salad is tops(split it as it is a meal in itself). Lowest point was dessert, but even that was over 4 stars!

I’m sure I will be unpopular with my review seeing how beloved this restaurant is. First, since I could not find a website for Vine I contacted our concierge at the Westin in hopes that they could make a reservation on our behalf. I don’t usually fuss about my birthday, but heck we were going to be in Hilton Head so we decided to have a special dinner. I was confused when the concierge told me that Vine did not accept reservation requests from hotels. I was told I had to personally call the restaurant. OK. So I called the number and left a message. It may have been ten days later that I got a call saying that they could accommodate us. I started thinking that this might be some exclusive dining experience as some sites quoted the management as saying«our menu is eclectic and not for every palate». Huh? The ambiance and décor was lovely and cozy. The service was friendly and prompt. The menu selection was good but pretty standard for pricier dining. Nothing was exotic or unique to warrant the staff saying that their food was not for every palate. In fact, when I opened the menu, I envisioned an ever changing selection with some favored entrees making a repeat appearance. Much to my surprise, almost everything offered that evening I had seen in other diners’ photos some a year or two old. Considering it was early March, I couldn’t understand why their Caprese salad tower was even on the menu. Having lived in Boston, where we often dined in the North End, no Italian restaurant would ever offer a tomato salad when tomatoes were not in season. My husband ordered the split pea soup as a starter and I ordered the pear and gorgonzola salad. My greens were spot on, lightly dressed and a good balance of sweet and pungent. The strikingly green soup was nicely presented, but was overwhelmed by the smoky bacon. The delicate pea flavor never had a chance against such a formidable opponent. My entrée, the ½ duck was flambeed table side which made a nice presentation. The dish was good and quite a large portion but nothing special. I was dismayed to see the same old side that I saw in every photo on Unilocal and tripadvisor, pureed sweet potato and peas. My husband who ordered the fish had the same exact side. If I was a local, I would be hard pressed to frequent this restaurant when the menu remains stagnant and doesn’t change with the seasons. In my fine dining play book, this is what distinguishes a great restaurant from just a mediocre one.

Still the best overall dining experience on the island. Lawson, our server this evening, did a fantastic job for us leading us down all courses of our dinner from a great bottle of Pinot Noir to the Caprese Tower to the U8 New Bedford Scallops to our chocolaty finish. It can be a little tricky getting a reservation over the phone, but don’t give up. Steve, the Vine’s omnipresent owner and chef, always delivers a most memorable experience. Five big ones.

This is easily some of the best wait staff I have had at a restaurant. Very knowledgeable and attentive. The wine selection was on point. Wait staff recommending wines that were amazing for each dish. The food itself is decadent. Artful playing and interesting dishes.

Absolutely amazing food!!! We first started with the truffle fries and Irish soup. Yummmmm! Then shared 3 entrées…scallops, osso buco, and the Chilean sea bass!!! All perfection… I think I like the Chilean sea bass the best. And don’t forget the bacon sundae!!! That’s right BACON! Eric the server was great, very knowledgable about the food and wine. Only negative… it is a very small restaurant with little elbow room. Not that it mattered with the amazing food. Bravo!

What a great dining experience! Steve the owner greeted us and he «set the table»(pun intended) for what would be a great night and a memorable evening. Lots of nice touches including a complimentary Chardonnay to accompany a fabulous Sea Bass, evening was topped off with Tiramisu with another complimentary taste of a dessert wine. Great ambience, great service and phenomenal food. Steve makes this a very personal and memorable experience, one of the nicest dinners in a long time. Nicely done! Thanks

This is some of the best service I have had in a restaurant. They are extremely attentive to detail and the ambiance is incredible. This is not your standard vacation spot. On to the food I had the beet salad with strawberries. The display was excellent the food was also very good. The specials however outshine the menu options and you should strongly consider them. Overall this was a great experience and their no kids policy makes it a much more relaxing place.

From beginning to end, our experience at Vine was very pleasant! My husband and I had a night out without kids, and we truly liked the fact that Vine does not allow kids under 14! Our food was amazing!(I was seriously contemplating running off with the bowl of crystallized basil!) Our server, Jeremy, was awesome. He made excellent wine recommendations! We definitely enjoyed our experience and will have to return!

Wow… this place is amazing. Jeremy waited on us over Memorial Day weekend and truly went out of his way to make things special for all his tables. He should be cloned and delivered to other less fortunate restaurants that haven’t achieved the service standards this place has. This fun energetic restaurant is just unbelievable and an absolute delight to food lovers, like us. There were 3 of us and we all ordered from the specials. The pace at this restaurant is fairly slow, but this is what you want at a place like this. For my appetizer, I had the special caprese salad, reconstructed w sugar basil(they called it crysitilized basil) and WOW! :) For my dinner, I have the flaming duck… omg! Sublime and a beautiful presentation, by Steve, one of the talented owners. My friend had the grilled octopus, and a steak Wellington, prepared Vine style, very unique and delicious. My only suggestion would be to offer more affordable familiar wines, or bring your own. The food is fabulous but a $ 400+ dinner bill is a lot of money to go down the shoot and 2⁄3 of that bill is wine/cocktails. If you don’t drink, this place is very reasonable and still fabulous.
