Good service. Cold beer. Pizza decent. Tasted better the next day ;) Definitely will go back. Other things on the menu to try!

A group of friends and I had the utter pleasure of a Sunday brunch at the Boathouse Bistro! From its modern design with clean lines and oceanic theme to the warm greeting and conversation with owners Steven and Tinka this restaurant doesn’t disappoint. I think it used to be a pizza restaurant, but it’s so much more now! The menu is well appointed with something for everyone. There is still pizza and also an assortment of delicious options ranging from the diet conscious to the decadent! My group ordered lobster mac and cheese, buffalo mac and cheese, eggplant parm and the wings. Everything was top notch, the lobster mac and buffalo mac were generous portions with tons of real meat and excellent flavor. The eggplant parm was perfectly breaded and the sauce was out of this world good. The wings ordered were more of the«campfire» style and were will seasoned, large and cooked to perfection. We topped everything off with a champagne from their fine selection of beers and wine and were in heaven! Don’t miss the B&B should you have the chance; you won’t be disappointed. A great patio and easy access to the water make this a superb spot for summer days. The cozy interior and warm service make this a must stop on cooler days. Ideal spot for a date with or without a movie next door!

Last night while sitting at the bar we had a great fire oven pizza and some wine while getting to know the owner, Steven, who tends the bar. Wonderful atmosphere, fantastic menu, and reasonable prices. Steven has used his 15 years of experience working in the North End restaurants to create a bistro that is as good as or better than those in the North End. So, check out this restaurant if you want a great casual lunch or dining experience. They also have an outdoor patio.

Seems like people either love or hate this place. I find myself right in the middle. I have gone a few times over the course of the past few months. Service has always been great. However one downside is it is a very long wait to get your food. The food is decent, I would stay away from their pizzas, and stick to the pasta dishes. The seating is not very comfortable, metal chairs, kind of like a high school cafeteria. BUt they do have out door seating which is fun to people watch.

It was cold and raining. We decided to try The Boathouse for pizza. I will tell you… It was the best pepperoni and red onion pizza I’ve ever had. We also enjoyed the fried pickles wrapped in pastrami. The chef was wonderful and discussed«pizza making«with us. Definitely worth the trip!

Do not waste your time. Service is terrible and the set up is worse. We were so aggravated that two groups of 4 hopped over us as we waited. The food could be fantastic but I will never know because I will never be back. We went across the street to Zenda. Very Good…

It was a nice, sunny day today so we decided to go out for lunch and enjoy the Hingham Shipyard and check out this Italian restaurant. We visited last year when they first opened and we really liked it. Well… Sorry to say but if we weren’t with our girls and they were really enjoying the cheese pizza(the best part of lunch) we would’ve left this restaurant hours ago! Which was about how long it felt that we had to wait for our Lunch specials. Food: A Chicken Parm sandwich($ 10). It was pink in middle, lacked sauce, bread was too big, not toasted, small cutlet) The Turkey Gobbler sandwich($ 10). It had about 1 – 2 thin slices of turkey, not much seasoning, no cranberry sauce — and it came with some silky gravy with a few cranberries in it. No idea what it was! It barely had any stuffing and the bread again was too big. They were both very disappointing! It must be an acquired taste to eat here and whoever is giving more than 1 Star probably doesn’t do much cooking of there own at home or enjoy food with no flavor! Service: I had to keep quiet since I was with my family and not say anything to our server, who by the way made us feel that he seemed upset that we were even there. So to wrap it up it was a horrible lunch experience but at least our girls enjoyed the pizza & ice cream and yes, the Sun was shining! No plans on ever returning here. Thank you!

My sister offered to take my son and I to lunch after a long day of shopping at The Shipyard. We looked across from Talbots to see a very nice restaurant front. My 8 year old sniffed out Pizza. We went immediately into Boathouse Bistro. There’s a nice welcoming photo in the foyer of the owners. The architecture is stunning! Great place after shopping. Huge windows to people watch as well as feel airy and open. We ordered the stone cooked pizza that was out of this world!!! My son Loved it!!! I will definitely be back and have told everyone to come here. We noticed an outdoor seating area, when the weather gets warmer it will be awesome for sipping cocktails with Appetizers after shopping. The prices are great too!

Give this place a chance. The atmosphere leaves something to be desired, but it somehow works. Its a small, homey, casual place with an elevated level of food. I think their Italian competes with Alma Nove — for half of the price. Superb ceasar salad, fresh pizza, eggplant involtini and some of the best short rib ravioli’s(and short rib in general) that i’ve ever had. They only sell wine and beer but have a fantastic wine list(self-proclaimed wineo here!). I prefer to sit at the bar as the tables are fairly close together, but in the summer time, sitting outside is great! Beautiful atmosphere and people watching at the shipyard. If you go at off hours the owners/managers may be helping you but the gentleman is so sweet and they will modify the dishes to your liking. This is the perfect neighborhood place to pop in to after a workout, before a movie, with a friend at the bar, on a Sunday afternoon, you name it!

Fabulous dinner. Food and friendly atmosphere were perfect. The pastrami wrapped pickles for an appetizer was so delish. We shared the chicken parm and the special lamb ragu for dinner. Both meals were yumm! And the staff was exceptional. I would go back anytime.

Hit or miss. I’ve had one of the best pizzas of my life here. I’ve also had an extremely undercooked cheese and a lazy buffalo chicken. If you’re a gambler might be worth a shot.

Met some friends for Sunday night dinner. Four adults and 5 kids under 9 years old. They were accommodating to the kids and the kids menu was good. The food and menu for the adults was good too. Started with the calamari which was quite tasty. Moved onto salads which were fresh and not over loaded with dressing. Main course was the baked chicken which was flavorful with mashed potatoes and green beans which were delicious. Nice atmosphere and good service, definitely recommend it.

This place was awesome! Great pizza and ambiance — and the service was just as great. It’s a small place, but very cozy and warm with the wood stove for pizza. If you like sangria, the white sangria was fabulous! Would definitely go back.

Came here to get a beer while I was exciting for a massage(7:45 instead of 7:15, oops). I sat down at the bar and it took well over 5 minutes for the bartender to look my way let alone acknowledge me. When she finally came over, she practically set the menus down and ran. I stopped her and she took my order got a Shipyard. She asked if I wanted a rim and I said yes. Then she walked Away and disappeared! Two other bartenders showed up but still no beer; I saw the bartender on the other side of the restaurant. When the bartender came back, she again asked about the rim. To top it off, she gave me a verbal total instead of a check when I asked for it. I hope the pizza is better than the service!

OMG delicious, shake your head in the awesomeness of flavor. Mushroom pizza with truffle oil(10), salmon(10+), steak special(10), Caesar salad(9.9). Mom’s is the best. Out of all the places to eat at the shipyard, the boathouse is a hidden gem. New to the area, legendary in flavor. Staff super nice, service«10»! I encourage you to try, I promise you will not be disappointed.

The service was just about the only good thing about this place. Our waitress was fantastic and attentive, even on a busy night. Buuuuut… The food was horrible! The wings were greasy and not crispy at all, even though they were apparently made in the brick oven. The margarita pizza was dull and tasteless. I never thought I’d say that about any pizza, but really there were no redeeming qualities about it. The crust had no taste to it, and it flaked apart and wouldn’t even hold the cheese and sauce. The sauce tasted like a cheap store brand, sugary and with tons of oregano. The cheese usually saves the dish and unfortunately it didn’t here because it didn’t taste like anything and just slid off the slice. If the chef added some salt to the dish and used a real sauce, that may be an improvement. You couldn’t pay me to come back here again.

It says a lot when the owner of the place holds the door open for you. This place is unbelievable. Fantastic food, great prices, good drink menu, and the staff are the best part. Everything about it is great, will definitely be back and recommend it to everyone.

I went with my grandmother to the Hingham Shipyard, a regular shopping destination for us, and we decided to give the Bistro Boathouse a try. We sat outside on the well shaded terrace. Our waitress was friendly and informative and food came out in a timely manor. My grandmother had the salmon which came with a chickpea salad and roasted asparagus. The salmon was perfectly cooked, and the portion was generous. The salad and asparagus were a nice accompaniment. I was pleasantly surprised by the number of vegetarian options, and it seemed like they really tried to accommodate different dietary needs in unexpected dishes. I tried the fried eggplant sandwich with fontina and a fried egg. The eggplant was a little breading heavy, but I appreciated their different spin on vegetarian cuisine and their incorporation of protein from the egg. We would definitely return.
