Puopolo Candies

I’m spoiled. I just can’t get Easter Bunnies/​stocking chocolates anywhere else. And if I want to bring special chocolates somewhere, it has to be from here. It is a little pricey, but you get what you pay for. They always have a lovely selection of different candies, and they are always great. Highly, highly recommend.

I picked up some pre-​wrapped boxes as Christmas gifts. As expected, it was very busy but the service was very friendly and fast. It’s a small shop, but they have a great display of all the different kinds of candy they have. I’ll be going back to Puopolo’s any time an occasion calls for some quality chocolate.
The Hingham Harbor Bark was out of this world.

I don’t write reviews too often, but this chocolate is beyond amazing. I highly suggest the salted Carmel chocolate– it is one of the best chocolates that I have ever had– and I eat a whole lot of candy! I have only received this company’s product as a gift but I do look forward to stopping by the store at some point. Until then, I’ll just keep hoping more people will give them to me as gifts., the product is pretty much as perfect as it gets.

Best chocolates ever. far superior to Hillary’s, Gowell’s and any other boxed candy. Half pound box is $ 15, pound is $ 25…worth it. Love their peppermint, dark caramels and just about everything they make. My friends love to get this candy as gifts. Highly recommend.

Great chocolate store. I think they still make their own custom candy bars (with fillings).

My husband and I recently got our wedding favors from here. We got 2 truffles per box. The truffles were delicious and were wrapped beautifully… in silver boxes with white and blue bows to match our wedding colors. Rachel was very helpful the moment we walked in the door and tied several different bows for us on multiple occasions until we got the perfect one! She even emailed me at home since I live in a different state
If you are getting favors from here, I would ask for them to either leave off their Puopolo Candies label (they stick it on the side so guests can see where the candies are from) or put it on the bottom of the truffle box. That was the only thing I was unhappy about, because I thought it looked tacky

I use this store for my business. They imprint out business logo on a chocolate bar in the middle of a box of chocolates. It makes for a great thank you gift or holiday gift. Highly reccomended.

I never expected to have the opportunity to review these chocolates. I read Alexandra’s review w/​vicarious pleasure and imagined their taste, but don’t anticipate going to Massachusetts anytime soon. Alexandra surprised me. She and I were discussing books and she offered to send me the Tracy Kidder book she was reading when she finished it, an offer I happily accepted. A few weeks later the package arrived and inside was not only the book, but a beautifully wrapped box of assorted chocolates, chosen, I know, by Alexandra herself. This was no standard assortment. There were turtles in milk and dark chocolate, there was dark chocolate bark w/​cranberries and pistachios and an occasional note of salt. There was something like peanut butter enrobed in milk chocolate and something w/​a liquid center I couldn’t identify. There was a milk chocolate covered piece that reminded me of the slender, chocolate covered honeycombs that came in threes in the See’s box and a dark chocolate covered piece, sprinkled w/​crushed almonds, that reminded me of the See’s English toffee my dad used to buy for my mom for special occasions, except that was milk chocolate. This was in the days when See’s was a small local concern rather than a conglomerate. And there were dark chocolate covered dried apricots. What an assortment! I couldn’t write a review until I had tasted everything and I dole good chocolates out sparingly, so it took a while.
I loved everything. Dark chocolate is my favorite, but I like milk chocolate too. There was no white chocolate, which I don’t recognize as chocolate anyway and won’t eat. If I had to choose a favorite it would be the chocolate bark, which was so complex and interesting. It was like a celebration in my mouth. There is a second piece of the bark I’m saving for last, another quirky habit of mine. This was a wonderful gift and I have taken great pleasure in it, almost as much pleasure as I have taken in our blossoming friendship.

This candy shop is an encouraging reminder that there are still small, local, family-​run companies that take enormous pride in their work, have a great product and give superb customer service.
Puopolo Candies is one such shop where the delicious assortment of chocolates and candies are almost all made on site and are made by hand. To shop here means you are dealing directly with the owners and candy makers.
This is not at all like purchasing a box of chocolates from a corporation such as the one that owns Godiva… ugh.
These are made from all natural flavorings and ingredients and no preservatives.
You can get all the choices in either milk or dark chocolate. If you’re in a rush you can pick up a pre-​made up box but I think it’s infinitely more fun to make up your own assortment.
It’s the grown-​up version of going to the corner candy store and picking out your bag of penny candy choices.
I’m not sure I can pick just one favorite here because I love just about everything but the chocolate bark with cranberries and pistachios comes to mind as does the buttercrunch.
When I’m here, I’m pleasantly reminded of the service in local village shops in Italy where even the smallest purchase is often given great care by being wrapped nicely in pretty paper.
Similarly, at Puopolo the staff will box and wrap and ribbon whatever it is you’re buying.
The result is that you feel great walking out of here with your delicious and pretty chocolate treasures whether it’s for you or for a gift.
You can have special orders made up too so just tell them what you’re thinking about doing with chocolate and they’ll help you execute your desire.
I love this shop and the people who work here. Making chocolates by hand is an art and Puopolo does it beautifully and tastefully.

If chocolate were, for your health, like fruits and vegetables, I’d be buying Puopolo’s chocolates all the time! I have been eating their chocolates since I was a little girl growing up in Hingham, and I always looked forward to a box for big holidays… birthdays, Christmas, Valentine’s, Easter. Now I can’t help going in there to build my own boxes of their delicious dark chocolates. The staff is always very friendly and the chocolates never disappoint. I love the wintergreen, coffee, orange, maple, caramel, and peanut butter to name a few. My boyfriend swears that their peanut brittle is the best he’s ever had. This is the kind of store that makes you want to support local!

Any time you need chocolate, sweets, or a host or hostess gift, head to Puopolo’s. Park right in front. Get there early for Easter, Valentine’s, Mother’s Day. The best chocolate you’ll ever have. And, they’ll make specially shaped chocolates for any special occasion. My family loves the peanut butter and the coconut filled chocolates. delicious!

Puopolo’s candies is the best candy store around. All the chocolates and caramels are made fresh and from scratch daily. The staff is courteous and friendly and are always helpful when purchasing gifts or candies for loved ones. They make arrangements and bouquets for special occasions and also make pieces for graduations, weddings, and other events. The store is adorable with very warm décor. Try the peanut butter parfait, the turtles, and definitely their butter crunch. You’ll never want to leave!
