This is a small, bustling artisanal cheese and meat shop with an extremely friendly staff who will welcome you, orient you to all of the choices, and make suggestions on items to sample. We arrived at what seemed like a busy time, and our freshly prepared gourmet sandwiches were ready in about 5 minutes! Food was amazing. Worth a stop even if it’s a bit out of the way on your travels.

Stopped here with a group of friends after hiking around World’s End and needed a bite for lunch. Service was friendly if not a little chaotic since we arrived at peak lunch hour on a weekend. Food was definitely 5 stars; we started with a sampler from the deli case which were all delicious. I had the Cubano with cheddar(not a huge Gouda fan) and was pleasantly surprised by the portion size. Would have given this a five star rating except for when my friend went to pay, he nearly got in a fight with another customer because he inadvertently cut a couple customers(there was no line) who were also waiting to pay and was elbowed in the side to point out his error. Aside from that slightly stressful situation, all good though. Would probably do sandwiches to go next time.

Is it Maddy? Or… something like that? We’ve read how the owners are great and friendly and while all true. the employees are the best as well. They’re well trained, caring and genuinely enjoying themselves and it shows. Ahhh… to start. two sandwiches, a cuban and a bacon letttuce and tomato? I think. I ate the cuban and loved my sandwich. So you walk in… you’re treated with a hello and we’ll be right with you. I love a place that acknowledges you. We had Maddy.(god I hope that’s her name) and she made took our order and made our sandwiches. They put on sandwich boards and my son reached the wrong way for his… Ugh. I think everyone in the place gasped as the sandwich board pitched to the left… like the slow motion spitting scene in Seinfeld where Keith Hernandez is accused by Kramer and Newman for spitting on them. I replayed it over and over in my head. watching my son drop half the sandwich as he pressed his body against the counter to keep the other from hitting the ground. Ugh… Maddy was the best. she remade the ½ that went flat lined and was dead… She was so great, did it and didn’t miss a smiling beat. So we ate. and then settled up the tab. and when they rang me up. I told them they could charge me for the ½ my son fumbled on the 1 yard line. but they didn’t. They’re so nice. I don’t make it back in the area that often. I KNOW I will find myself going out of my way to come back here with my wife as soon as time allows. Not only was it THAT good. the people are THAT nice.

There are those special moments that occur in a person’s life that leave a long-lasting impression. Typically your wedding day, the birth of your child, the first time you did it, hopefully not in that specific order. I had encountered my first gastric orgasm while eating at Bloomy Rind. And I am not kidding! My college roommate(who is a regular at BR) took us out to lunch here. He raved about this shop on the drive over from his house. First, I must say that this«cheese shop/a lot more than that» is located on a quaint, New England street in Hingham MA. Exactly the scene you’d expect to see on a movie calling for a sleepy New England town. The brand name big box stores and restaurants were not anywhere within eyeshot… yes!!! I knew already that this was going to be good. Expect to be amazed with the unique lunch selection. Every single(and I do mean«every single») dish we had was absolutely perfect. I started with grandma’s-goodness baked chicken seasoned perfectly, tasty green beans, a farmhouse style pasta that just«broke my mouth» it was sooooo good, a brie/prosciutto flatbread with fig jam that I thought I wasn’t going to be able to finish since I over-ordered and because of my over-indulging in BR’s home-made bread with a carrot-based hummus. But I ate every last crumb of that flatbread it was soooo yummy. I may have botched the food descriptions a bit, I admit, but that is exactly how I remember it. Did I mention that owners, Robert and Mary, are so nice and cool to talk to. They definitely have 5-star talent to create a warm social environment coupled with simply awesome, tasty to the last bite food offerings that will leave you dreaming about your return visit. Bloomy’s is the perfect place to enjoy fine food in a very relaxed«hang loose» atmosphere. It was my very first experience here, but certainly this will not be my last. See you soon, Bloomy Rind! To everyone reading this far into my boring post… GOCHECKTHISPLACEOUTNOW!!!

This place is amazing, the sandwiches are consistently delicious and well portioned. Mary(the energetic and wonderful woman behind the counter) makes you feel like family every time you come and takes the time to talk with you and give you samples of the fantastic food behind the counter. Do not hesitate to try the cheese. Pro-tip: come before or after the lunch rush to sample the cheese and don’t be afraid to ask lots of questions.

Great homemade sandwiches, I have to stop in whenever I am in the area. A small shop, but everything is good. The owner and employees are very friendly and talented.

I’ve been here only once but will very likely return. There was a rather confusing array of very delicious looking foods there when I visited on a busy Friday. It was a bit chaotic, but staff there were very nice. I ordered the Butcher sandwich, which was very good and worth waiting for, although the baguette was almost too crusty. I think I’ll try the Cuban next time.

this cheese shop reminds me of the kind of place you would find walking down hwy 29 between yountville and st. helena in napa. a cheese shop full of what my friend would call«yum yums.» all the paninis are delicious, all of them, really. I don’t have a favorite. there is a nice selection of lunchtime appropriate beverages, but really this is a place to put together a nice pairs with a special bottle of wine. she has several flavors of cypress grove cheese and beecher’s flagship cheese. there are other interesting, non-mainstream cheeses as well, like the half sheep/goat semi hard cheese the owner let us sample while we waited for our sandwiches. this place gets busy at lunch time and wait times can be long, so don’t be in a rush it’s worth the wait.

This spot has been transported out of France and into Hingham Square. I’ve never had a bad meal here. The menu is staple foods with a twist which is a lovely change from the monotony of other lunch spots. Everything is made fresh, which does mean it can take longer, so plan accordingly. The owners are friendly, talented and their passion for their art is evident. Just amazing!

Seriously amazing. Owner/proprietor is so friendly and welcoming. The food is FANTASTIC. Got a caprese sandwich, the best Caesar salad I’ve maybe ever eaten and the beet & stilton salad. Oh and the chocolate chip cookie I got afterwards was still warm out of the oven. Amazing.

This place is a dream come true. There is not ONE thing I haven’t completely lost my mind over. Everything is better than the next… Just when I think it’s not possible… I don’t understand what Erica H. is talking to about. Every time I’ve been in there the employees have bent over backwards to provide superior customer service. Every single one of them. And Mary? Get outta here… No one has ever been more welcoming and bright and cheery as she is EVERY time I walk in. You feel like you’ve known her your whole life. This place is heaven on earth and for a little, amazing hole in the wall they have something for everyone!

So, I really went for it and got the brie and bacon panini with fig jam… Guys, it was really, really good. Maybe a little TOO much of a good thing, as I was feeling the heaviness in my gut for the next two days! The Bloomy Rind is adorable — very quaint, cozy and friendly. The staff was about as busy as they could be, busting out sandwiches and cheese orders rapid-fire all remaining totally sweet and chill. The owner even came out from behind the counter to meet my baby! Sweet. There are a few tables — one communal farm table and a few smaller bistro tables, but you are kind of better off getting your sandwiches to go as this place does get crowded and hot. I can see popping in to get some delicious cheese and scrumptious nibblies to have at home, too — they have lots of cute snacking items that you’d usually not find in the US, so it’s a treasure trove of sorts, too!

Got some fab cheese here, loved the aged goudas! It took a loooooooong time to get our cheeses because it was so darn busy but great little shop where you can taste and buy cheese. Not to mention they have lots of accompaniments and you can get lunches and sandwiches too that looked awesome.

I am pretty serious about cheese. One day while browsing in Hingham center for Christmas gifts it was as if it was meant to be that I stumbled upon a specialty cheese store and café. I have found my people!!! Okay, perhaps this is a bit enthusiastic, but these people are just as enthusiastic about cheese as I am. They are very knowledgeable and managed to curate a unique and massive selection of just about any cheese you could imagine(please read: cheese with ground espresso beans). Not to mention, they also have a variety of other items to pair the cheeses with. If you are having a party, they are happy to put together a cheese platter for you! Then, there are the sandwiches. After discovering this gem, my husband and I ventured back to try their lunch. He opted for the«truffle pressed fromage» which was basically a grown ups version of grilled cheese with truffle butter, gouda, brie, fontina and ham. It is easily the best grilled cheese either of us have ever tried! We also split the«Cubano» that was piled high with pork, ham, gouda, sliced pickles, aioli, and mustard and I was pleasantly surprised by the combination of flavors. As if this all isn’t enough, their soda selection is nothing to snub your nose at either. All in all, I will continue to travel back here whenever I need a unique gift for a fellow cheese lover. It’s a shame that the space isn’t larger to eat in, but the staff is so friendly and their food is so good that it won’t prevent me coming back for more!

Busy midday on Saturday but the service was quick as all the staff had a hop in their step. There was an amazing cheese selection and a choice of other gourmet prepared foods. We had carrot hummus and a cheese plate to go. Everything was delicious and fresh. We will be back to sample more next time we’re in Hingham.

If you come to Hingham to eat at Walhburger, you’ve missed the mark. I’d come back to eat at the Bloomy Rind any day. They combine a fantastic selection of cheeses, sandwiches(Put the Mediterranean on your shortlist), flatbreads and salads.

I came in on a lunch break from work after reading the Unilocal reviews. A cheese shop that also sells sandwiches??? SOLD! I was not sure if I was going to buy any cheese, but I couldn’t help gravitating over to the cheese case as soon as I walked in. An employee ran over to help me, gave me a sample of some goat gouda and soon I had a(rather expensive) chunk of it in a bag to go! I also decided to order a sandwich. While waiting, the owner(I think) came out, saw that I was holding cheese and said«Cheese. Is there anything better in life?» These are my people! Pretty sure I could stop the review there and still give it 5 stars, but I will continue. The Mediterranean sandwich was crazy good. Eggplant, zucchini, tomatoes, harissa aioli, hummus and the BEST feta I’ve ever had on a Syrian wrap. It was also toasted to perfection so the superb feta got a little melty. I can’t get over how good it was. Needless to say, I will definitely be back when working in the area.
