Great Wall Buffet

I had lunch here and like the food… It certainly wasn’t outstanding, but your typical Chinese buffet style food… lots of choices, good staff keeping the buffet full and clean and reasonably priced. Yes, I have had better, but certainly a lot worse too…
If I am the area, I certainly will be back.

Okay, I’m going to lay out some truth… The people that come here looking for awesome Chinese food are the same people that go to Taco Bell expecting top notch Mexican food and go to McDonalds expecting an earth shattering burger. It’s just not the place. The food here is about as good as one should ever expect when visiting a strip mall Chinese buffet. It’s food, and if you’re looking to stuff your gullet for $ 6.99, you can.

Had two parties visiting this «restaurant» today. One party left but the party that was going to pay stayed to cover the bill. This is when the owners decided to threaten to call the cops on the ones that were left — 2 kids under the age of 12 (one of them being 5), a 15 year old, and their mother. They mistreated them and the 5 year old left scared that she was going to be arrested for «doing something bad». If you value your safety along with your money, do not visit this establishment. The only reason they are getting a 1 star is because it’s the only number reasonable to fit this horrid establishment.

We came with reasonable expectations for the food, and those were met to a 3-​star level (note that we did not have sushi though). However, the price charged took our rating down to 1 star.
Price Issues: We are a family of 2 adults and 3 kids (11, 10, and 6). The total cost was just over 45.00 without tax or tip. Reason: a «child» must be under 10 (e.g. 9 or under). We were charged the adult price of 7.00 a piece for four including two of the kids, and the drinks are not included even for kids. Kids are 4.50 each. Upon my asking they did refund one drink for the kid’s meal.
I cannot justify spending what would be the equivalent cost of food at a full-​service restaurant for our family.

This place is awful! Me and my wife used to come here fairly often and really enjoyed it. Then they started getting some really low health report numbers. Finally after several years we decided to come back and give it another try despite the low Unilocal scores. That was a mistake. There wasn’t a lot of food on the bar and what was there was mostly chicken and had not very little flavor! All in all avoid this place,

Don’t waste your time here. Food was awful. I’ve been to a great many mediocre Chinese buffets, but this is even below my already pretty low standards. That’s all that really needs to be said.

Reason I gave 1 star was due to Unilocal not having anything lower! This restaurant was soooo bad. We arrived after 5pm for Dinner on a Saturday thinking the food would be fresh due to the weekend crowd. Upon walking in we were greeted at the door and asked what we would like to drink. We ordered our typical Ice waters and hot tea because their usually free and we hate the change in soda fountain taste from restaurant to restaurant. We proceeded to the buffet stations where the variety we thought was lacking. I looked for my favorite Crab Rangoons. Instead I found something they called a Crab Rangoon. It wasnt in the delicate filo dough but it was in a cheap thick hard to bite wonton fried. I then went to spoon some shrimp, not only was tail on but they couldnt take the time to even devain… eww. Almost every product from the «HOT» Buffet was luke warm at best. The taste of the food was bland constantly. I went up to try the Sushi, every piece was so warm that I was affraid to eat it. That was probably due to them sitting on a plate on the counter, there was nothing keeping them cold. My husband and I were very dissapointed. We both tried the hot tea… but couldnt understand why it was like luke warm water. I asked for another pot and again it came out full of luke warm water with 2 tea bags that would not desolve. It was like they were taking the water out of the tap or something. My husband went up for dessert and came back with some «Scoop your own ice cream» I looked at it and asked why it looked funny. The ice cream had crystalized as well some where along the line and I guess they felt it was good enough for the customers to eat. Now unhappy and ready to leave, our waitress placed our check on the table and walked away. As I looked at the check we were charged $ 3.19 for 2 tea bags in luke warm water that we couldnt drink but they considered it to be «2 Drinks»? At this point our plan to find good Chinese in GA had become laughable. Upon checking out I told the cashier that we were not paying for tea we couldnt drink. I also found that this Chinese Buffet was opened under another name «China Garden» at exactly the same address. I found them on Unilocal after. They had a horrible review then as well. This buisness then closed their doors and figured opening under a new name would probably help? Im here to say that it didnt. Save your $$. Walking to our car I said «We should have gone to Mc Donalds!»
