They need to sell to Golden Corral. Last time I ate will be the last, the food was old dried and not good at all. Waste of money unless you LIKE redneck food!

Maybe I’ve just gotten a little more food obsessed as I’ve gotten older, but these all you can eat chain places have just gotten flat out awful. The service is terrible, the options keep shrinking, and they keep feeling dirtier.

I had never been to Ryan’s until a couple of years ago. I went with my husband and his family one Sunday afternoon after church and it was pretty packed from what I remember. We’ve been there a few times since then and business seems to have declined. There have been less and less people. When we went tonight(7 pm on a Saturday night) they only had a small portion of the dining room open on one side of the restaurant. The conference rooms and the entire other half of the restaurant we were told not to sit in. There were maybe 10 other families in there tops. I think only 2 waitresses were working, so dirty dishes sat on our table a little longer than usual, but she was still attentive with refills and very nice. The food is hit or miss these days. For example the mashed potatoes are instant but still good, green beans are canned and tasted funny, the cheesecake at the dessert bar was awful and left a weird aftertaste, the croutons in the salad were mushy from sitting out for too long. The cornbread was hard as a rock and had obviously had been sitting out since long before we got there. I usually end up eating the same things every time I come here but they do seem to have a good selection and the food looks fairly fresh. Unfortunately their prices continue to go up and it’s just not worth it to make this one of our usual go to places. For 4 adults and a child it was almost $ 70. For $ 20 or so more we could have gone up the road to one of the steakhouses and had higher quality food cooked exactly to our liking. My daughter likes to come here because she can get salad, spaghetti, pizza, mashed potatoes, corn, and dessert all in one place so I’m sure we’ll continue to come every now and then, but I won’t be surprised if the place is gone soon.

Disappointed… low food choices and pricey… food tasted good but variety was extremely small and the prices were high for the food there was to choose from. The place was clean and the staff polite

It is OK. The wait staff are nice as a majority. I don’t know if they have switched out some managerial staff since a few years back but the staff used to be terrible. I came in a few weeks ago and there were changes. I like the fried chicken here. 9 out of 10, the special of the day is fried chicken. The rest of the food varies. Sometimes it is very good and appetizing and sometimes it just looks like something to walk past. You never know either until you show up. I recommend coming in and asking to scan the bar before paying. Sometimes it is worth your money worth. Others, you will walk out.

Poor service, poor selection, and the food left me and my wife in the bathroom all the next day. I will never eat here ever again.

Have been eating here about once a month for several years, and it is a shame to see this place continue to go down hill. A few years ago, the place was always packed, but that is not the case anymore. Last ate here Mother’s Day weekend. It was Friday, and the cashier informed us prices were jacked up $ 4 more per person for Mother’s Day. Wait a minute, this was Friday night? So she says, oh, the higher price started Thursday evening and goes all day Sunday. For what? The food was the same as it is every day? The salad bar is still decent, with fresh stuff and a large selection, but the food bar is nasty, with very bland tasting food and a very limited selection, not at all like a few years ago. Same for desserts, they offer only a few items, instead of dozens of items like they used to. Worse yet, they have started charging for coffee after dinner. Somebody should tell them that Golden Corral still gives free after dinner coffee. Their fried fish used to be delicious, but now it tastes like a soggy wet paper towel. The vegetables are not fresh, and it is easy to tell they are now using canned vegetables. I am not surprised that the entire Ryans chain of restaurants is going under, and they are closing down Ryans in many places where they were very popular at one time. What a shame to see this once popular chain going out of business. The group meeting rooms used to be full of people every night, but now they sit empty.

I love Buffets and this is just as good as any other. They have good greens and ribs

Buffet! Need I say more. I don’t like a whole group of people hovering over, touching or sneezing on or by my food. The kitchen staff is bad enough. Their food is average. Nothing special

I’m going to update my review of 1÷16÷2011, but this one will be very quick. Ryan’s is of course a chain buffet style restaurant, and earlier this year a good number of them were closed by their corporate offices due to lack of business. This particular location in Hiram has, over the last couple of years in my opinion, suffered more and more in terms of quality of food. You can only expect so much from this type of restaurant anyway, but they seem to always have new management there, many of whom could be seen walking around doing everything from talking on their cell phones to just having a «Why did I do this?» type of look on their face. Now, ATTHISTIME, things have seemed to have taken an upswing at this location. Some coworkers wanted to go over there for lunch recently, and I almost didn’t go based on past experiences, but someone had coupons, and well, «cheap talks to me» sometimes. This time the food quality was a bit better. It had in the past reached the point where just about everything was coming out of cans, and seemed reheated at that. Now, fresher items are making their way back onto the hot table, and the food«for the price on weekday lunchs», is ok. Green beans are still canned, and the white fish is still rubbery — but other items are hotter, and fresher. Service is as it’s always been — sometimes slightly sluggish, but the country-ish waitresses are for the most part very friendly and attentive. Seating is still iffy in the booths that were made with far too narrow seats when they redid the seat coverings. Chairs are more comfortable. I have eaten there twice again since I did with the coworkers, and again, so far, the food has stayed at it’s slightly higher than before quality level. I’ll update should things slip(or improve) later. So for a quick and cheap bite during a weekday lunch, I’d say this place is ok. Cheaper than most of the other places around the immediate area, and if you pick the bar items right, you can eat healthier than some of the other sit down places. Dinner pricing is still in my opinion, too high for what you get.
