From NYC visiting the in-laws for a week and needed a place to work out. Called ahead — although they don’t have an official policy for a week membership, the manager allowed me and my wife to have a week’s membership for $ 15. Open 24 – 7. Walked in at 6am. I told the attendant at the front desk what the manager said to me on the phone the night before and she said«if that’s what he said, that’s good with me». Quick form to fill out that took 2 minutes. No tour. No hassle. Ran for 30 minutes on a treadmill — plenty of unoccupied machines. And then did cross-fit exercises for another 30 minutes. Plenty of pull-up bars, dumbbells — all the equipment you’d need and there was no wait. It was a Wednesday morning and there were definitely some folks working out before going to their jobs, but it was by no means crowded — I can’t speak to the after work scene however. Gym and locker room were clean. But bring your own towel — they don’t provide any.

My objective: Put on some ugly comfortable clothes and stroll anonymously to a non-occupied treadmill. Then turn up my player and pound pavement hard enough to release some aggression and perhaps burn calories. My realistic experience: I skipped the sales ploy and just joined. Without the tour(embarrassing), I walked in later that evening to see if I could get a machine. No problems. I was able to maintain my objective without talking to anyone or feeling judged. I did forget my towel, so I walked out with the sweat I’d earned.

I go to the gym to workout. Im not sure why this place gets such terrible reviews. I’ve been going for a while now, and I am pleased with the amenities, cleanliness, and convenience. I have kids, and I don’t have a problem with the Kid care area at all. They love it. Most of the staff is friendly, some are not but that’s to be expected. After all… I’m just there to workout. It is expensive though.
