Terrible first experience. The dinner was ready in less than 8 minutes which tells me I got lunch leftovers which is what it tasted like. Plus I had some weird piece of burnt rubber that I know wasn’t on menu and am fairly certain not part of a normal authentic Japanese cuisine.

Huge portions, 5.99 chicken teriyaki lunch, and great food. Love this place!

I am giving them 3 stars based on past experience. If only they would stop over cooking the shrimp in my hibachi I would be happy.

This place is good for lunch especially. The extra $ 2.25 you pay at dinner is just definite left overs unless you split between 2. They should just offer a regular and a large all day. The food here is okay, but don’t expect ichiban level. Its a notch or two below it. One of the biggest downsides is that the fried rice is CRUNCHY and just not done properly at all. I noticed another reviewer mentioned this and he had it to go, where it has more time to kinda steam. It is down right crunchy when dining in. It also lacks enough vegetables. Their spring roll is like a piece of fried nothing. Would be nice if they had an egg roll. Also, points lost for no sweet and sour sawce, the reason the other reviewer didn’t get any is because they don’t have it. So, fix the fried rice, get a decent egg roll or spring roll and some sweet and sour for dipping and you would have a real destination. Right now, its just a compromise when ichibans price/inconvenience drives you away, but it has potential.

This is a really good hibachi restaurant. The prices are lower than those around in Hixson and the quality is better. The portions are huge, plenty of food for two meals. I had pad Thai and my wife had their $ 7.95 hibachi special with chicken. The interior is still new looking and the atmosphere is good. Definitely a must eat when craving hibachi!

Love this place — much cheaper for hibachi food but the portions are just as ginormous as typical hibachi restaurants. Nice clean atmosphere, and good food. Great overall

The portions are huge. We always have enough to take home for a second meal. The hibachi chicken is awesome. The kids ask for this consistently. If you want a simple Japanese dish that is good and gives you plenty of food for a good price Soho is the way to go. And the store is always clean.

I hate to do this, but this is my first negative review of a restaurant on Unilocal. But first, the positives: The place has a nice ambiance. It’s all very new. Drink refills are free. They have those cute little Japanese sauce holders(whatever they’re called). So it feels a touch upscale for what it is. BUT we had to wait on our food for 20 minutes. My fried rice was way undercooked(lots of hard pieces). The spring rolls tasted like dirt. And I asked if I could have sweet and sour sauce, was told very rudely that it was in my to-go bag, and when I got home, of course, it wasn’t. Plus the prices were jacked up for dinner. Paid nearly $ 30 for two entrées, one order of spring rolls, and one order of edamame. I think if we had gone to Ichiban, we would have paid the same money for MUCH better food. I was extremely disappointed in our dinner tonight.

Big portions, good prices, good food, very nice staff. I sure wish it was closer to our home in Ooltewah. All four of us were very happy with our meals. I know that 5 stars might be a bit high, but I felt like I was not being fair by only giving them four. The reason for that 5th star is because of them offering brown rice as an option. I prefer brown over white or fried but it’s rare to see that as offered around here, or if you do, you have to pay extra.
