I only came for a mimosa but I really enjoyed the eggs florentine. Very friendly staff which is why I will be coming back very soon.

Best breakfast in northwest Indiana. My husband and I are regulars, we look forward to eating at Café 339 every weekend, the staff is efficient and friendly and the food is exceptionally good compared to other restaurants in our area. I recommend trying them if you haven’t yet and you will be back.

This place is really great and a breath of fresh air in Hobart. An independent small business where you can get quality food and service. The Kona coffee is very good and the eggs benedict are served with REAL hollandaise sauce which totally makes the dish for me. I went on mothers day and they gave my wife a rose which is a nice touch and made her smile. My son had pancakes and bacon loved them. My wife enjoyed her omelette as well. I’ve been here a few times and have enjoyed it each time.

I LOVETHISDINER! The décor is great, everything is clean, the staff is so friendly, and the food is DELISH! The gyro wrap was to die for — excellent tzatziki(which is usually a fail anyplace other than a Greek restaurant). Yummy — I’ll be back every time I come to town, for sure!

Definitely a great place! Small space & you can seat yourselves. Everyone who works there seems to help each other out(refilling coffee, etc). However we did have to wait awhile for our food. We weren’t in a rush & are very understanding customers, so we didn’t worry too much. They were very busy so it’s understandable! They also have a full bar so you can have a mimosa or Bloody Mary with your brunch! Yum!

I’ve been coming to this place for a couple years. Family is awesome, service is fantastic. Specials change daily. Hash browns at breakfast are diced and perfectly done I get their chicken vegetable medley. Big portion of chicken and plenty of FRESH vegetables. The place is spotless, you can tell the pride they have in ownership. Always busy because it’s great.

Great breakfast spot worth the visit. I had eggs Florentine and biscuits and gravy. Coffee was good also. I wanted to check this place out because of the reviews but considering all factors of time cost and distance and quality Portage House of Pancakes is a better spot for me based on proximity. Cost and quality are comparable. So much has to depend on the cooks. I am pretty good at cooking varied breakfast at home so these journeys are just for pleasure.

Hands down this is the best place in the entire region to get breakfast. The owner and his wife are lovely people. The restaurant is always full, but you’d never know it based on how well the kitchen and wait staff adapt to the fast paced environment. I’ve never had a bad meal here.

Restaurant is always wonderful. Food is fresh and well-seasoned. The owner and his staff is attentive to needs, and the fact that we can have a mimosa or Bloody Mary at breakfast is wonderful. I recommend trying the specials, though my favorite are the Benedicts. Country with fresh gravy and biscuits when I am feeling like a country girl, or regular Benedict with their excellent Hollandaise.

The owner was extremely nice! They are just waaaaaaaay understaffed though. We had a table of two and ordered biscuits and gravy to start. After waiting OVER an hour, two tables who came in at least 20 mins after us got served. One of which had biscuits and gravy. LOL! Come on! They apologized and said it was because we ordered steak and eggs… but where was our biscuits and gravy we asked to be brought to us before breakfast? After an hour and a half we couldn’t wait any longer and walked out. What a waste of my morning. Only thing that made it to our table in an hour and a half was coffee. Cute place, nice owner and your coffee cup never goes empty(we had 3 cups while waiting) but be ready to wait!

We came here two times in one week because it was so good(once for breakfast, the other for lunch)! The service is quick, and the quality of food is awesome. The space is a little cramped, but that’s all anyone could complain about. Breakfast was fresh, and lunch came out steaming. The fresh fruit pancakes/French toast is to die for! They always have a solid lunch special, and everyone is super friendly. The coffee was also fresh, despite it being near close. If you are new to the area, definitely try this spot!

Greatest breakfast food in the 219 without a single doubt. And they sell booze in the AM, what’s better than that. The owner and his family are fantastic people that work hard and they always make sure you’re completely satisfied with every visit. Don’t hesitate, go now. Ps. Try the hash browns deep fried, they’re to die for.

Nice location with beautiful lake park and renovated downtown with a nice walking around the shops and ample off-street and lot parking. Café 339 is a certainly a local favorite with only restaurant on Sunday morning with people waiting outside in cold. We were greeted with a very friendly smile and served and well taken cared for during our brunch. The prices are reasonable and quantity is good. I ordered their Eggs Florentine(Eggs Benedict with spinach), which comes with a side of potatoes. I would say that it was nothing special. The yolk was cooked almost all the way and their homemade hollandaise sauce was nothing to crave about. I had to spice things up a little by adding extra table top condiments. The owner was very friendly and almost everyone around me seemed to enjoy their food. I will give it another try before completely remove it from my list of places to visit again if I am in neighborhood. But my first visit was certainly a disappointment. It is worth a try to see if you can find that factor that had made so many locals regular customers here!

The interior features nice furniture, tasteful décor, punched tin on the walls, excellent use of color and light. The design is very post modern hipster wine bar. The staff are very attentive, The food is tasty. And yet breakfast(tax included) is six dollars. In Hobart. So, they’ve taken a classy hipster café that belongs somewhere in Boystown, made it about 4 times cheaper, and deposited it in small town Indiana. What the hell is a place this nice doing in this tiny little town far away from anywhere? It’s possible that Café 339 represents a toehold for the footsoldiers of gentrification. If Hobart can attract a few more businesses like this to it’s «downtown», it’s possible this place will at long last grow and develop into the sort of place tourists would like to visit. For the moment, this is the nicest place in town.

Stopped here today for breakfast after reading some of the reviews on Unilocal.Parking was on the street which sometimes can be a pain. The place is very clean and cozy staff is friendly and started filling up fast after I sat down. Today I ordered the Country Eggs Benedict which was Eggs Benedict served with sausage patties instead of the traditional ham and sausage gravy instead of hollandaise sauce. Gotta say I did enjoy this version the biscuits were good with the sausage gravy and they gave you a good portion. The gravy was pretty thick which I like. The coffee was good and they kept you refilled. The potatoes where also very good seasoned good and cooked great! Overall I enjoyed my breakfast will be back. I think you get a good breakfast and great portions for the price. I’ll be back to try other breakfast items and hopefully to try some of there lunch items. It did look like they serve dinner some nights and even had a little bar. The only thing I didn’t like about this place it only had street parking which is out of there control and small unisex bathroom other than that this place is a hidden gem!
