Small things lead to big discoveries. I have been driving past this place completely unaware to the fact that it was a thrift shop, that was until the owner craftily put up a very large new sign. There are some great goodies here at rock bottom prices! Everyone is super friendly and what I appreciated most was how clean, organized, and odor free the place was. I will definitely return.

The store is well organized and you can’t beat the prices. However the selection is lacking, not much in the way of womens buisness casual attire. Quality of the clothing can be questionable, so make sure to check the garment for holes or stains.

Pretty much as good as it gets for thrift stores. As other reviewers have said, they have a nice selection, great furniture, good, prices, delivery, and friendly staff. I got a nice couch, table, chairs, and delivery for just under $ 100 last year. My only critique is that there are a few too many staff people. So I guess I’m giving them 4.5 stars, but I prefer to round up.

While I didn’t find anything I was personally interested in or needed I was still impressed with this thrift shop. This place has a TON of stuff, including lots of furniture. Best of all it is way cleaner and more organized then any Goodwill or Salvation Army I’ve ever been in. I was highly impressed with this as so many thrift shops look like they just throw the stuff anywhere. The things here were also in much better shape then most thrift shops and better prices then Goodwill to boot. I’ll most certainly be back to look around in the future. I wish they better advertised where the money goes and how much, etc though.

Best thrift store around! I love going to Goodwil and The Salvation Army but Hometown Thrift has that hometown feel. I’ve always had the employes ask if I need help finding anything. The times I bought bigger heavy items they have even helped me carry the stuff to my car. Great selection, staff, and place all around.

I am from NWI and often go to the antique mall in Chesterton to find great furniture deals to refinish. I found this thrift store while surfing the furniture section on craigslist. On my first trip I found a couple pieces that made it worth the trip. I got an all wood sewing cabinet that I will paint and use as a side table and a vintage enamel ironing table or craft table?! I loved the shape and will be refinishing it and turning in to a desk for my 9 year old. They were very nice here, I had more than one person ask if I needed help finding anything(can’t get that kind of service at big box stores). my tables were carried to the register for me and then loaded into my van… all for $ 15. I will definitely be back.
