The baked goods and bread are decent. But the prices on everything are thru the roof. The employees are all nice people and friendly… with their other employee friends. They will be happy and joking among themselves and when they see customers they stare and give you a look like you are bothering them for making them work. And this store has extra special employees, disabled and mentally challenged, so they get extra credit for that. If they had some competition they would either lower their prices or be out of business. You can tell the employees are union workers.

Grew up with this Acme, it’s changed looks over the years, but still the same reliable groceries and friendly hometown staff.

I went to this Acme supermarket for two items and two items only: restrooms and peanut butter. I found both fairly quickly and used the self-checkout so I didn’t have to deal with anyone. That would be a pretty short review, so I’ll add this: I didn’t see anything else worth getting. Prices were generally higher than what you would find at other supermarkets, e.g. Pathmark. Not even all the specials were competitive. If you live in the neighborhood then this is the store for you. Otherwise, you may do better elsewhere.
