Banfield Pet Hospital

We have had both our dogs on the Banfield Wellness Plans at this location for the past two years. Over that time we have seen Dr. Black 95% of the time. Both my husband and I have been very happy with the thoroughness of Dr. Black, and the staff, and are comfortable with trusting Banfield Hoffman Estates with the care of our two dogs. Our dogs are like our children, and their care is very important to us.

My boyfriend and I have been taking our puppy, Jack, to Banfield for about a month now, and we are impressed. The vet is always listens and answers any question or concerns we have. The staff is very friendly, and Jack always gets lots of attention whenever he is there. We currently have the wellness plan, so our visits are very affordable, if we have to pay anything at all. I would recommend.

I just took my dog here for the first time because we had moved and i was taking him to the one in algonquin and that one closed. he was dropped off for a comp exam and he was done by noon. i went and picked him up and everything was fine. the only thing i noticed was that he had dewormer all over his face. he just had a bath so now i have to clean him up again. the ladies at the front were nice. the vet did not come out to talk to me. when i was taking him to bloomingdale, they would always come out to tell me how his visit went.

I have a 19 year old cat and get her prescriptions filled at Banfield in Petsmart as well as pick up Sub Q fluids which she needs to survive. My regular vet (who is an hour away but does home visits) calls it in there since they’re my closest vet in between house calls from vet.
I had my vet call in some calcium supplement (made especially for cats with slow kidney failure (CRF) but the vet refused to fill it even though it’s not a drug and is simply calcium. They said it had to be an emergency. If we could have called it in at a pharmacy we would have (as my better half is a doctor with a clinic right down the street from them) We explained I’d spilled a little and was getting low and with the 4^th of July holiday my vet and I were worried how long it would take for the calcium to get here (it’s a phosphorus binder and crucial she have it twice a day with her CRF) They refused to do this even though the vet called in and I was happy to come pay and pick it up– said it wasn’t an emergency. Crazy thing is they’d filled OTHER prescriptions. AND my 19 yr old could have died without it. They were also rude, could care less, didn’t even say sorry and are never very nice when I go in. They also do outdated xrays (they still use film instead of digital– lot more radiation on your pet) So I’d definitely go elsewhere and avoid them at all costs for you and your pets.

We have two beautiful babies… um, dogs and we trust them to Banfield in Hoffman Estates. Katie has been with us for just over three years, while Tanner joined our family about two years ago. Katie and Tanner went for their Annual Wellness Visit yesterday. Banfield has a plan that you can pay for over the course of the year that gives you major discounts and takes care of many of the fees in full. We have the plan for both of our dog «babies».
Overall, the experience was fine. It turns out that Katie has an ear infection and Tanner is still a few pounds overweight (even though he’s down seven pounds). The nurse took her time explaining the concerns to me and thoroughly answered my questions. I wasn’t thrilled at the fee associated with determining the «type» of ear infection that Katie had. She has an ear infection… give her an antibiotic, right? Apparently, you have to determine the type of infection before treating it. There was an extra charge for this. Her medicine was only $ 30 so I really can’t complain. The staff is pretty nice here and I don’t ever feel rushed. The facility is clean and the hours are okay. I’m sure we’ll be back.
