Hands down one of the best restaurants in the Northwest suburbs! Fit for Foodies, Romantic with a scenic view! Ambiance: Warm, cabin like feel with an incredible wood burning fireplace for those cold fall/winter evenings. Back dining room has an impressive wine wall that adds to the ambiance. I like low lighting unlike some places where the lights are turned up so high you need to have sunglasses just to read the menu ;) Bathrooms: Horse stalls, what great concept, love it! Outdoor Patio: Really enjoy their outdoor patio, it also has a wood burning fireplace to enjoy cocktails or snuggle by with your significant other. Food: Hats off to the Chef! They have an eclectic menu and some items do change regularly which I like. This is not your average menu so if you’re not adventuress or a foodie like myself you may opt out for a place like Weber Grill. If you’re a cheese lover then try their every changing selection of cheeses paired with marcona almonds, olives and artisan jams. Steak and Eggs Carpaccio is also one of my favorites. For dinner I like their Duck or fish of the week. Desert: If you’re a coffee lover the Cappuccino is a must try! They roast their own coffee beans and the taste and smell if wonderful. If you’re use to Starbucks bitter ass coffee then you’re in for a treat here. The desert menu changes often as well, some of my favorites were the; Avocado cake, Terrarium, and Manhattan square. The owners of Saddle Room just opened up a new Gastro pub concept called«Hardware» in North Aurora which is Amazzzinnn!!!

First time there, not really that impressed to be honest with you. I couldn’t find anything on the menu that really jumped out at me that I thought I’d like to eat. I did however notice that they had a Late Night Hamburger Menu available upon request, on that menu was food that I was more interested in. I ordered a Cheeseburger, which I must say was really tasty, no complaints there. The home made chips were also very good. My wife ordered The Filo with Pork & Chicken, see was not that impressed with it at all. I found the ambience not so much to my liking though, but that is a personal choice on my part, I am sure others would like it perhaps. It was very dark, cold & I thought that the volume of the music to be too loud. I did like the type of music that they played, but I would of enjoyed it at lower volume. I found it difficult for us at the table to carry on with our conversation. I found this restaurant to be too pricey for my taste. I do not mind paying a premium price for premium food, but I do not fully feel that the cost of the food matched the quality of the food. To be honest, I will not be going back there again.

The prime rib pizza was to die for. Such an interesting combination with the egg, but so delicious. Would HIGHLY recommend this pizza. Split that with 2 desserts and drinks, it was the perfect meal. Definitely recommend the peach sangria and cognac square(cheesecake) for dessert was to die for. I’m a huge chocolate person but so glad my boyfriend convinced us otherwise because it was amazing. Definitely sit outside and go around sunset, as it’s very peaceful and pretty.

Atmosphere was really nice and service was prompt but it seemed like they had the second string kitchen on staff. Ordered lobster corn dogs and they were slightly burnt. Ribeye ordered medium and it was extra rare with way way too much coffee spice. Could barely make out it was a steak it was so black. Salad was wilted was well. Bummer, as they have a very creative menu. Service was prompt though…

Was I lost? What was I doing way out here having dinner? Well, go where the locals go, I always say so when a friend of mine who lives out this way suggested the Saddle room for dinner, I gassed up the car and headed out. The Saddle Room is interesting, especially if you are a horse lover as this place is everything horses, including you can do some Off Track Betting if you so desire. Given it was a great night, we sat outside overlooking the marsh to enjoy the weather. I ordered a Moscow Mule to drink and was disappointed that it didn’t come in the more traditional copper cup. I don’t know why I think it tastes better in those but I do. For our appetizers, we ordered the tuna tartar and bruschetta. The server quickly came back to tell us that they had no «fresh fish» that night so no tuna or salmon requests could be accommodated. Really? Oh well. So the bruschetta was interesting, served with plenty of mustard seeds and a bit unlike any I had ever had. And since the menu wasn’t really calling out to me, I asked for the after hours menu which had a build your own kobe burger on it which seemed like a better choice. The food was really slow to come up which was surprising as it wasn’t that busy. And drinks were even slower as the server said she«had to get them all the way from inside». Odd given there was a bar out on the patio but it wasn’t manned. Our final disappointment came with dessert. Our server suggested the«cookie flight» which were 4 different kinds of cookies. They weren’t good. One was a burnt s’more. One was a jelly like thing with a weird mouth feel. One was a chocolate thing and the best was s peanut butter cookie. Not worth ordering. My favorite part of the place? The women’s bathrooms. They are like individual horse stalls each with a horse name on them and are really clever. All in all, it was okay. I was expecting more given the way my friends talk about the place.

Wish I could review the food but after waiting 30 minutes for our drinks, we left. Waitress was unapologetic. Place was not very busy so there’s no excuse. Stay away.

I had dinner here last night with my husband and mother in law, for my husband’s bday. It was our first time here I loved every thing about it. From the food, service, atmosphere, drinks. It was awesome. Food does take a bit but for us we don’t mind. I feel when you go out or on a date night that’s what conversation is for. To take advantage of your time together. Can’t wait to return when the weather is nicer to enjoy the patio.

First Time, Last Time Food was OK but served lukewarm. Very pricey for what we got. Service was terrible. Waitress came around every 15 – 20 minutes. Had to actually grab a water pitcher at the waitress station to refill our glasses. Ordered a drink but was told they couldn’t make it because the blender was broken. Was then charged for it. The managers response was they were short-handed. No offer to make it right. Wife liked the outdoor dining. Could have got better meal(x2) at Outback.

Been here a few times now, mostly for drinks after work. The beers are good, service is a little slow. Today came with my wife and sat outside. Ordered apps of flatbread and tuna tartare. Flatbread was a little salty and the tuna was ok. Beers were good and my wife enjoyed her blueberry mojito.

This was my first time at the Saddle Room, and it most assuredly will NOT be the last. My companion wanted to go there and it was going to be her treat. That was icing on the cake. We went there for dinner on Easter. The place was rather empty, of course, most folks do brunch as the meal of the day on Easter. The menu was quite eclectic. We decided to split an appetizer and a dinner salad. For an entrée, I had duck breast served medium rare with an excellent blueberry sauce on a bed of sauteed brussels sprout leaves. When the wait-person described how it was prepared, I was a bit skeptical, but went ahead with it any way. It was nicely presented, and after the first bite of the medium-rare duck, I was awed! Needless to say, I had never had sauteed brussels sprout leaves before either, but they too were delicious. My companion had a seafood dish, which she said was excellent, too. We ordered a bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon(Louis Martini) for $ 49, which I thought was pricey even in an upscale restaurant. The wine list was one of the longest I’ve seen, and the high-end prices were out in the upper atmosphere. We shared a very good mouse-based dessert. During coffee and dessert. the manager came to our table to inquire as to our satisfaction with every thing. We asked about the Chef, and the manager told us her name,(which I can’t remenber at this time), but told us that she had worked with the well-known Chef Rick Bayles. . I’m anxious to go there again s oon, and while I would love to have the duck breast again, I probably owe it to myself to try other entrees. The service was very good, and the restaurant layout and décor was very nice. Our booth was close to a large fireplace, which was quite welcome on a rainy Easter evening.

One of the few restaurants around that matches perfect atmosphere partnered with a simple delectable menu. From the minute you walk into this place it feels warm. The bar scene is great, next to a cozy open four sided fireplace. After a few drinks for certain you will find yourself traveling to there OTB Pony racing area. I for one have bought dinner twice with my winnings. Also the outside patio is amazing, which is a huge plus.

Came here for my birthday a few weeks ago. I have been here before and I have been pleased every time. The food is always quality and top notch and the service is never lacking. The interior has quality décor, the indoor fireplace is awesome and the betting area is really cool as well. I never bet here, just come for the food and drinks but I really like this place. The only negative is that the food always seems like it takes a while to come out, but it always comes out great and I always enjoy it.

I’ve come here a few times because it’s close to my office. They have VERY strict rules about their happy hour. I’ve come with a large group of my coworkers many times, and if we’re ever outside of the small box area that allows happy hour, they absolutely make no exceptions to honor it. I understand them not wanting to give everyone special treatment, but because of their strict rules, we opt not to order food/minimal drinks/go somewhere else altogether. I think it’s a bit ridiculous for them to turn away business from a large party of 10+. On top of that, service is always slow. Either that or the waiters constantly seemed burdened by our requests. The drinks are good, but they’re overpriced and I’ve tried several food items here, nothing is bad but nothing is memorable either. I will admit that the kobe burger is quite good here, and is probably the only redeeming quality about this establishment. If I’m in a mood for a burger, or my coworkers don’t want to venture too far, I’ll suck it up and make my way here.

I have visited the Saddle Room several times now and I love everything about this place. I am an equestrian and adore the horse décor right down to the horse stalls for the restrooms. They did a great job of setting up the restaurant with keeping the off track betting in the back and separate from the regular bar and dining areas. My favorite part about this place are the fire pit areas. It’s so nice to relax with friends around the fire on the couches and have a few drinks. You can even have dinner at a table and then move down to the fire pit for some after dinner drinks or dessert. I have not been there in the summer time yet, but will definitely go to enjoy their great outdoor patio with outdoor fire places. The food is fantastic. I tried the meat board which is delicious especially the duck bacon and the sun dried tomato spread with the toasts. I had never tried duck before and can’t believe what I was missing. The short rib, skirt steak(probably my favorite dish there, can’t believe it’s skirt steak), duck and the coffee rubbed prime ribeye are all phenomenal dishes. The drinks have fun names and are a refreshing change from the usual bar drinks. They have a great wine list too. The espresso is fantastic as well. Pour some over their vanilla ice cream for a delicious dessert! Although its a little pricey I feel I get my money’s worth there between the fabulous service and the great ambiance. I definitely look forward to many future visits and highly recommend this place.

A very confusing establishment. Is it an OTB sports bar? An ultra lounge restaurant? A country western themed bar and grill? An over-priced experience? Pros: nice selection of local craft beers, very delicious food options, good presentation for both cocktails and food. Cons: service can be hit or miss, very pricey menu options.

So apparently reservations don’t mean anything is reserved here. I dropped off my girlfriend to check in so I could go park in the Cabela’s parking lot and walk to the restaurant… and once I got there we informed the host that our entire party was here. He toddled off to check on our table only to come back and say that they had seated someone else there, so would we mind waiting 30 minutes while they got us a table… umm no tiddlywink, why wouldn’t you move the people that you just sat at the RESERVED table and have them wait 30 minutes. Piss poor customer service and I will not be back.

I attended a bridal shower at The Saddle Room and I have to say it’s a great place for a small gathering. They have an adorable back room that has an outdoorsy type of feel and it’s own private bar. They call it the Wine Bar but it really could be used for a variety of functions — great small space. Staff was very attentive throughout the gathering but there was definitely some friction among the servers. No idea what was going on behind the scenes but I heard them snipping at each other in front of us. Their fried chicken lunch entrée was a hit with our group. It was a large portion and I gobbled it all up! Cocktails were tasty but both the mixed drinks and the beers were pricey! The Saddle Room is a off the beaten path and a little expensive but it is a great venue for a small gathering!

I had my birthday dinner with 8 friends here and it was wonderful. The drinks are perfectly crafted, food is delicious– though some portions are small(mainly their steaks). But the outdoor area is great minus the pesky mosquitos. I was one of two people celebrating birthdays in our group and they provided us both with complimentary dessert. Not a lot of places do that so it was much appreciated. They also split the check between 5 different couples.

My wife and I stopped in after visiting Cabela’s. We were drawn inside by the smell of smoke coming from the cookers. I loved the rustic look, the fireplaces both inside and outside, and the general décor of this place. We were seated promptly, and the staff appeared to be very attentive. We asked for suggestions from our server, and he was very helpful. When we asked about the asparagus side dish, he told us that it was a cold dish, and that it was excellent, but most people are wanting a warm side dish. His other suggestions were also very helpful. We ate lots of their fresh bread with their signature herbed sweet butter. I ate too much. I decided to order the Lasagna, and was not disappointed. It is not your normal lasagna. It was filled with wonderful flavors and things you don’t normally get in a lasagna, like mushrooms! Love it! And the sauce was not your normal marinara. It was green! And so scrumptious. The only complaint I had was the service. I mentioned that our server was very attentive, but that was only before we placed our order. After that we hardly saw him. We had to flag him down to get water refills, and to get our check. All-in-all it was a good meal. We would not drive the 25 miles from our home to visit again, but if we are at Cabela’s again we might stop in.

I love the smell of a fireplace with real wood burning especially on a cold November night. The calamari was really fresh and we tried the Poblano Picasso salad and I have to say it was really good. What a different taste for a salad. We had the Thanksgiving special and they were really nice and split the plate between the two of us, since our eyes were bigger than out stomachs. The split portion was very adequate. Our server was great – she offered suggestions and was always checking our drinks and satisfaction. This place is easy to miss. If you are not familiar with the area, you wouldn’t even notice it. Cabala’s is at the other end of the parking lot so look for their sign!
