Disgusting at the least… I’m pretty sure both my boyfriend and I didnt feel good because of the food here. We both got the same thing, we got the rice plate with chicken gyro. The onions weren’t cooked, the chicken wasn’t fresh, and the tzatziki was flavorless. Sad to say but a wast of money and bad quality. Never again

Let me began by saying the teenage boy behind the counter is very nice, he tries his best to get any customer to like the restaurant. I ordered the falafel with whole wheat pita bread which was very cold and not tasty at all, it was only one eat-in customer sitting and they seem to be rushing to leave. Overall the food was awful at best and the clean up mop bucket was smelly with a mop Still in it near the grill. Eat there at your own risk, I won’t be anymore! A waste of 9 dollars.

The Falafel is not Real Falafel. The Pictures by some of the Reviewers are misleading. Maybe the Owners waited until they got some free Advertising, by selling pretty green on the Inside falafel, But when I got it home, All it was, Was A huge Gritty, Breaded Clump of Fried Breadcrumbs in the shape of a Ball. The dressing was non existent, & They didn’t include the Hummus with Both of my orders, which were each supposed to be included as a side. The soup was Alright, except for the fact, It was extremely & Had to have been Intentionally watered Down. That’s the only Explanation. The service was Great, But the fact the Falafel was not even Real, The Soup, watered Down & Oh. The Pita chips simultaneously Stale, Soggy & Flavorless at the same time. What’s worse is, I never would’ve even gotten the chips if I knew I wasn’t going to receive the 2 sides of Hummus that were supposed to be included with the 2 salads I paid for. Was SO Hopeful as a vegan. Oh well.

Yum! A Mediterranean chipotle? I’m in! The service is decent, the food is good, and it’s a decent price for what you get!

This place is great and the staff is really nice too. I eat gluten free and there were plenty of great options. I would highly recommend this place.

Wow, Unilocal has led me astray. 4.5 stars? Really. You people are smoking the wacky weed. The Gyro was tasteless. Period. Sorry but the best gyro hands down believe it or not is located at the smithhaven mall food court. Trust me.

There aren’t so many healthy«fast food» options in my neighborhood. Up until recently, Chipotle was pretty much it. Hummus seemed like a promising addition, and it didn’t disappoint. Lots of options, and everything we ordered was tasty. I had a whole wheat pita sandwich with chicken kebab, feta, babaganoush and pickled veggies. It was yummy. My only complaint about the food was that the whole wheat pita that my sandwich was made from started to fall apart pretty much as soon as I took a bite. It didn’t stop me from eating it, it was just inconvenient. Also, I thought it was weird that you get a side of hummus with your meal, but I had to order the pita chips to eat it with separately. Was I just supposed to eat the hummus with a spoon? That left me scratching my head. Whatever. It was tasty and fast, and it wasn’t totally unhealthy or expensive. I’ll definitely go back.

Quick and tasty Mediterranean food at great prices. Stopped in and built myself a wonderful creation with chicken gyro meat on whole wheat flatbread, with a side of rice and some extra pita bread. Thhey took the time to explain the different protein and ingredient options and in the end I was more than satisfied! The regular hummus is a bit lacking, however. I would go for maybe the roasted garlic or some other variety.

Second time I’ve eaten here and second time I’ve left here over satisfied. Proteins are always perfectly seasoned with toppings to satisfy any picky patrons palate. The red lentil soup is a must try. This place is a definite recommendation to anyone I talk to!

It seems like these fast casual restaurants are becoming ubiquitous in the last few years. And that’s a good thing, especially when you want fast and good selection without compromising on quality or quantity. Hummus is a bright, cheery place on a busy road. When we walked in after a busy day at work, the bright colors were an instant mood lifter. Similar to Chipotle, you pick your base(wrap/rice bowl/salad bowl). I would definitely recommend getting a bowl since it’s better bang for the buck. We got the mixed green salad and wheat bulgur. The mixed greens were fresh and the bulgur was perfectly cooked and seasoned. For the proteins, we picked steak gyro/grilled chicken and grilled shrimp. The shrimp was fantastic — freshly grilled, lightly seasoned, plump, and tender. The gyro was good but the grilled chicken needed a touch more salt/seasoning. The sides… Now the difficult part started because there were so many to choose from. The seasoned, pickled onions had a nice kick and the other sides we had were fresh but standard. Then each bowl came with a side of hummus. We had garlic and sundried tomato. I have to say for a place to be named hummus, they need to kick it up a notch! Some extra salt and olive fat and a touch of lemon juice perhaps! Despite a few faults, which are my opinion anyway, the food was fresh, pretty tasty, and healthy to boot! The service was friendly and oh yeah, our two bowls filled to the brim with food was under $ 20. Not bad, not bad at all.

Excellent! Fresh and def going back, better than any of the Greek restaurants around here… Recommend highly! Nice people too! The only thing they need to do is get some good flat bread and season and grill it for the hummus.

So my husband and I were looking for a new Greek take-out, but this is more Mediterranean food. Not sure if the difference, but not your usual Greek take-out at all. I ordered Chicken gyro. Think I got the wrong item. Looked like chopped up dark meat chicken which was just ok. Cucumber /tomato salad in pita was good, olives just ok and feta, just feta. I got the tahini sauce on side. Not that good. Pita very very dry. I chose the garlic hummus for my side. Garlic chunks way too big, I couldn’t eat it. My husband ordered roasted lamb which didn’t taste like lamb or look like it. More like shredded beef. Toppings he said were ok. Yogurt sauce was watery and not thick like a true yogurt sauce. Falafel appetizer were small & cold, just OK. I called in the order & went to pick up. One person helping the one customer who had no idea what anything was, so that took some time… Finally someone else came out from the back to help me pay. Cute place, $ 24– bill not worth going back. Too bad! It was just OK…

So, the last time I was in here it was a burger joint that was lacking from every angle. Now, Hummus Mediterranean has taken over and its light years ahead of the last spot. The place is laid out like a Chipotle. Having never been here, I asked for some recommendations. Staff was very friendly. Went with Bulgar rice bowl, Chicken Gyro, regular Gyro meat, feta, onions and 2 sauces. Overall we spent about $ 16 for 2 dinners. The food was better then expected. And I wasn’t left hungry as the price would suggest. I will definitely be back.

9pm on a night late in August is not an optimal time to keep open all the doors to the restaurant — including the two rear doors(photo) that are portals to your kitchen and food storage area. No screens on the doors. The lights from inside, as well as the smell of raw and cooking food attract insects. You have meat standing out(cooked) as well as raw ingredients behind a sneeze shield, but nothing else. Don’t feel like getting food poisoning because the owner/manager is too cheap to turn on the air conditioning. After waiting 2 minutes while watching flies invading inside, I decided that this isn’t my cup of tea and boogied away still hungry. Can’t you make your own flat bread too? I saw bags of wraps like I would buy at the supermarket. Change your habits. «Healthy» isn’t that great if it’s covered in fly feces.

I want to give this place 5 stars but can’t. I came for the second time in a week which says a lot, but the slow service is what knocks it down. Plus they forgot a pita in our to-go bag. I did the salad bowl with chicken kabob, hot sauce, tomatoes, cabbage and spicy ezme. The spicy ezme is like a hot sauce paste. Really spicy but so good, especially combined with soothing hummus. I tried the olive hummus this time but the garlic still remains my favorite. The chicken was very flavorful and marinated really well. The service is slow though but maybe because this place is new so I won’t complain too much. Took us from the moment we walked in, only 3 people ahead of me, took at least 20 minutes to order and get our stuff to-go. Please either move quicker or figure out some way for customers to come in and out fast. Still, I want to go back soon.

I passed by this place twice before stopping in today after work. I was promptly greeted by a young girl behind the counter who asked if I had been here before. I said no, so she explained how the process worked. Like a Chipotle, if I remember correctly since I’ve only been to a Chipotle once. Any who, I got the salad bowl with lettuce, tomato, cucumbers, onion, roasted lamb & steak gyro meat. I added stuffed grape leaves, Kalmata Olives, & roasted peppers. Some hot sauce & yogurt sauce, topped with the Lebanese Lemon Dressing. The star was the fresh crisp salad everything was served on. I loved the chopped tomatoes & cucumbers. Just the right size cubes for a good forkful of this great salad combo of my choice. Knock my boots off goodness permeated the roast lamb! I’m going in for a lamb sandwich next time. GETTHELAMB! The Gyro meat was pretty awesome too. But the Lamb was the superstar! The Hummus was flavorful and you could choose your mix ins. Things like roasted garlicky, roasted red peppers, spinach, etc. My only complaints is I didn’t get any pita or crackers with my side of Hummus and there are no prices posted. Not that I cared at the time but I’m sure most people would like to know the prices beforehand. Oh yeah, try the lamb for goodness sakes!

Recently opened Hummus Mediterranean, caters to its patrons mediterrenean cuisine in the most genius way. The restaurants concept is very unique and first of its kind(on Long Island). Customers have the choice of customizing their own plates, salad bowls or wraps. The must haves at Hummus are the grilled steak, chicken and their crunchy felafels. There are also many appetizer toppings that are made all fresh that you can add. The roasted pepper hummus, bean dip and the babagabush are few of the toppings that are perfectly seasoned that pairs up great with any combination you create. Another thing that strikes me the most was the price we paid for the amount of food we got. The portions are very generous and considering check avarages from other mediterrenean spots Hummus Mediterranean is the most reasonable bang for your buck you can get.

I stopped here with my family today for the grand opening. My dad is a huge fan of hummus, olives, and I guess everything Mediterranean. When you first walk in, you’re greeted by bright colors and friendly faces. There are so many options, but you basically have 3 main«bases”– a flatbread sandwich, a rice plate, or a salad bowl. Then you get to choose your choice of fresh toppings and homemade hummus. Definitely reminiscent of Chipotle style service. The bulgur rice, chicken kebab, and baklava were definitely my favorite things on the menu. If you love falafel, hummus, baklava, chicken kebabs, and any other Mediterranean food, you have to check this out. Think«Chipotle» style service with super fresh Mediterranean food. It’s located right by Mama Lombardi’s!
