First time here and was not impressed. Ordered the caprese sandwich with mozzarella but instead of a slab of fresh mozzarella there was shredded cheese. In addition, I waited 15 minutes for my sandwich, finished my sandwich and my husband hadn’t even received his yet. He had to ask about it and then they made it. The staff wanders around the restaurant with plates of food wondering who it belongs to. A simple numbering system would help and also making the full ticket order at once would be useful so people who go out to eat together can actually eat together. Overall, not impressed by process and quality of food.

Great place if you like live music! So happy to have it in the area. Menu is limited but the food is solid.

Moved to the area in August and have been a huge fan of the live music in the back and the staff. Great BBQ burger. Nice family business. I finally checked out the breakfast this morning and my only annoyance is why it took me so long. The front is a nice place to check out the passers by on Washington St. I will be back many times over now for both the breakfast sandwiches and the live music.

I haven’t really been here enough to write a terribly informative review but it’s right near my house and I’ve gone there a few times. The place itself is very nice, casual with pretty pieces of art from local artists. The seating is plentiful and the large windows are great. They have a full bar and live music shows pretty frequently. Also half-priced burgers one night a week. The menu has improved, salads, sandwiches, panini opinions and breakfast items. They also have coffee and espresso drinks. I’ve had their strawberry and goat cheese salad as well as their turkey club. It’s not terrible, not the best. Though they do make a nice chai tea latte. The people are super nice and friendly!

Sorry to say breakfast was a disappointment. I suspect they would be better for lunch. The vegetable omelet came with no homefies nor toast. The vegetables had been marinated in a italian vinaigrette.. fine for a sandwich… but not mixed with scambled eggs. Coffee was good.

We traveled with friends to Jasper Hill Café & Bistro from Rhode Island to see the Racky Thomas Band, a band that is always well worth going out of our way to see. The main entrance brings patrons into the coffee shop section of the place, I immediately noticed an odor that I couldn’t put my finger on at first, but it was not coffee. My wife, who is a professional chef, remarked that the odor was from a fry-o-lator that was not being properly exhausted. We moved towards the back room, to the bar area, and were charged an $ 8.00pp cover charge. When we got to the table that had been reserved for our party I was happy to be seated right in front of where the band was set up. Food and beverage menus were waiting for us on the table. Once seated we waited for a server to come to the table, and waited, and waited, and waited. It was apparent that the one bartender was also responsible for waiting on tables. I noticed that people were leaving their tables and going to the bar to order drinks, which was slowing table service down even more. I began to prepare myself for an evening of crappy service from a poorly staffed establishment. Just as I got up to head to the bar myself the bartender finally came over to take our orders. Not knowing when we’d see her again we ordered our meals and drinks at the same time, I ordered a double scotch, neat. A while later a younger woman that we hadn’t seen until then came out with our drinks. My scotch pour, served in a rocks glass rather than a snifter, was very skimpy, not even a single by the standards of most of the places that I patronize. I asked the server to ask the bartender if that was supposed to be a double, she came back and said that it was. Our meals were eventually delivered. The menu here is pretty basic, and so is the food, all easy stuff to prepare. I had a decent burger served with fries(previously frozen), it was OK, although I had to ask for ketchup which should automatically be brought to the table when someone orders burgers and fries. I was not driving that evening and ordered a second drink, which was just as skimpy as the first. Later, I went to the bar to order another drink myself and observed that the bartender was not measuring the drinks, just pouring to a spot on the glass. The Racky Thomas Band was very good as usual, after all, they were the only reason we came here. At the end of the band’s set the 3 other couples we were with each had to go to the bar to settle their tabs instead of the server bringing them to the table. When I was given mine I told the bartender that I was not happy with being charged $ 18.00 a piece for my three drinks, which were not doubles. She told me that I should have said something earlier, i reminded her that I had when my first drink was served. I told her that I was paying my full tab, but I also promised her that I would not be back, a promise I will keep. This could be a nice place, but they should not be charging exorbitant, big city, high end establishment cover charges and prices for what they offer in return. They should stick to selling coffee. Oh, and get some proper ventilation in the kitchen.

We wanted to try something new. We live in Framingham and we are always looking for a good breakfast place. We Unilocaled while sitting in the parking lot of another place and saw the reviews for this place. So, we left that place and drove out to Holliston. First of all, the place is adorable and evidently has live music some evenings. That is just cool. Love it. Also, the back has a cute bar and a cool music related vibe. It is also clean! For the food, I wanted a breakfast sandwich on a croissant. They were out of croissants, but planned to make more. Since they had no ETA on when the, let me emphasize«homemade», croissants would be ready, I had my sandwich on a bagel, which was served panini style and was delicious. I ordered home fries, which they also were out of. Replaced them with a side of crispy bacon. Perfect. My fiancé had an egg wrap with toast on the side. He had also wanted home fries, but since they were out, he ordered the toast. He was very happy with it. The toast looked to be homemade and I had some because it looked too delicious not to try. It did not disappoint! We shared a delicious blueberry muffin. The coffee is Red Barn and good. The ambiance was nice. The staff was nice and apologetic about the things they were out of. We will return, as I want to try the croissants and home fries! If they are anything like the rest of the food we had, they will be worth the trip! I almost gave 4 stars because I was disappointed about what they were out of, but realized I thoroughly enjoyed my breakfast, and for all we did experience, it was 5 starts for me!

Stopped in for late lunch and cocktail with a friend. What a cool place! Everything you would want from a local flavorful café/bar. Owners were SO friendly. Food was fast and flavorful and a good value. Drinks were generous. Atmisphere is fun and clean. Will come back to experience music scene sometime…

Lunch at Jasper Hill was great! The Turkey Club and Chicken & Brie sandwiches were so good, homemade onion rings and sweet potato fries too! Nice selection of pastries for dessert!

I did a take out because I had a gift certificate. working nearby I treated my co workers to lunch. I had a friend pick up the food. The sandwiches came in a Styrofoam container with chips on the side. The chips were stale and the food for the price was not anything spectacular. The salad that was ordered came without utensils and there were no napkins added to the bag. Not really very good for take out. Perhaps they are more of a sit in building restaurant and not good at take out ?

You should go here sometime. The place is small, and the atmosphere is very nice and friendly. The owners are out and interacting with the guests, like, this is your honest sweet neighborhood spot. A lovely hole in the wall. This food was fantastic. The truffle fries I got were unbelievable; the parmesean was freshly shaved onto the piping hot fries and they were easily the best truffle fries I’ve ever had. Perfect amount of crunch and kick. The waitress was super nice, Denise. She was extremely acomodating for the food allergy at my table, and very attentive even when the resturant became overflowing busy. They’ve got a tiny little stage for live music, a nice full bar, very comfortable seating… I’m not trying to write a puff piece, I just really enjoyed my evening spent here. I can’t speak for the coffe/pastries side, but I highly recommend coming here for a meal or an evening. I went with family, so I’ve crowd sourced some other opinions on other specific menu items… The turkey club panini: «there is a genie between this sandwich and my mouth.» The cheader and bacon burger: «that was awesome.»

My wife and I had a business appointment in Holliston and tried to go to the Holliston Grill for lunch. Unfortunately, they had just closed. We wandered down the street and decided to try this café which looked pleasant. Woman at counter/cashier acted disinterested, as if she could not be bothered with us. Pretty rude, actually. We both ordered the Caprese sandwich and you would have thought the basil was like gold. We found about 10 little miniscule specs of basil. I actually went back and asked for more(which the man prepping the sandwiches did), but… seriously, it’s a Caprese sandwich dude — use the effing basil! Wife took back her fountain soda which was flat and was told by the Disinterested Counter Girl that it’s because the soda needed to chill with ice. HUH!!! She offered to replace it, but needed to add ice to something(??) and it would take a while. HUH!!! Is it too much to be pleasant to your customers? Too much to make a sandwich the right way? Maybe just a bad day?

Just a quick review for this place — the bar/music area specifically. Went on a Friday night to see the Bruce Marshall band there. It actually looked like it was closed from the outside because the coffee shop part was empty — but they have a small room at the back where the bands play. So, they have a nice little bar there for about 6 people, plus tables and seats for maybe 50? $ 5 cover although it seems like it’s very often free. I have to say it was just fantastic. The band was unbelievable — like if they were playing a 10,000 seat venue I’d think myself lucky to be watching them, but you’re right there watching them perform, close enough to throw ice cubes at them(don’t do that, btw, it’s just to give you an idea of how small the room is!!). The crowd was older, not sure if it’s always like that, but appreciative of the band. People were friendly, met a lady, Kathy Lindsey who apparently sings there also — she did one song and was very good. Really, if this is the quality of the music they have here we will be back again and again. Can’t believe they have a place like this in sleepy Holliston. Well worth the trip from anywhere in Metro West. Great ambiance, great music, oh, and drinks? — they even have Pickle Backs! Yum!

This is a cute little, local place. They have limited menu because it’s not a full kitchen. Breakfast sandwiches, pastries, salads, sandwiches, burgers, and soup. The servers are mostly young high school kids. I wish they would clean their tables instead of standing around talking when they are idle. Besides that small complaint, it’s an okay place for a quick breakfast or lunch.

Very nice Mediterrean salmon and really chicken coconut soup. However, we went on a Sat night when there was a great band, Fat City and it was mobbed! Even when we had a reservation, it took a long time to get a table, and then there was just one waitress to serve the whole place. People were dancing by the bathrooms. If you are going to have a band, be prepared and move the tables around so people can sit, and then maybe have one of the young men standing around in the deli area at least get water and take orders, or staff accordingly. Totally disorganized, I hope they get their act together as it would be nice to have a local place to go to hear music.

Great breakfast spot for family. We had the country breakfast which was a huge portion of eggs, bacon, home fries and what looked like homemade toast. We ordered our 2 year old the pancakes that he absolutely loved! Serving of pancakes was 2 monster pancakes! Very good coffee — my wife had the light roast and I had a very good cappuccino, we will be back again!

Whenever a new business opens in Holliston, I really want it to succeed. We are off to a great start with Jasper Hill! I stopped in for breakfast and a coffee this past Sunday. I liked their menu, the pricing, the coffee, and service, but I was blown away by my egg and cheese on a croissant breakfast sandwich. It was the best ever! The egg was fried with just the right amount of cheese, the cheese kind of melted and got grilled a bit which added to the flavor, and the croissant itself was grilled and slightly crisp. Yum! As I was savoring my meal, I could hear the couple at the table behind me raving about their meal. Next I’ll try lunch and update my review. Stay tuned!
