I have been a loyal shopper at Ulta at both the Apex and Cary locations for years and have even used their hair salon numerous times and was always pleased. After today’s experience at Holly Springs, I will never go back. Of all days, their manager, Matt, was extremely rude and condescending to me in front of a large number of customers on my birthday when all I did was come to pick up my birthday loyalty rewards gift from them as their email stated. Unwarranted and unforgivable — they just lost a loyal customer…

Not a professional salon. 45 minutes late with my appointment. the stylist was ok and most of my review was not her fault. The stylists are expected to do everything which means you may be interrupted many times. During my 3 ½ hour visit(way too long), the stylist stopped working at least 4 times — answering customer questions, redoing a previous client, answering the phone and helping another stylist. Since my appt was at 5p and I was on a tight schedule — I specifically told the stylist I had to be out by 7:30 — which I thought was sufficient time for cut and color. The cut was basically matainance and she copied existing color. I had to leave with my hair only 75% dry — no style no product. The color was not applied with the precision I am used to: some spotty coverage and my grays were still visible in several areas. Again, I don’t place the blame on the stylist — she was not as experienced as I would have liked and she was required to do much more than hair. If you are just looking for a cut — this may be an ok place but I would NOT go back for color Two customers came back during my appt b/c they were not happy with color.

I regularly use Ulta for my makeup needs. I switched from sephora several years ago for convenience. Today I went with my mother to this Ulta in holly springs towne. Both of us were looking for some cosmetics and some hair accessories about an hour after they opened. The selection was good. Most all things we needed in Stock aside from some hair accessories which were sold out or unreplenished? The issues started in cosmetics. We needed some advice on some products. The hairstylist from the salon was in the section looking for something for a client. We asked if anyone was working, she said there was supposed to be but would get someone for us. She was so nice. Moments later a younger girl showed up in the center Benefit section and began applying a full face of makeup. Noticing she was in a Ask me about Benefit shirt we asked her about product suggestions. A direct quote from her — while not taking her face from the mirror she was applying makeup in — «I clock in in about 10 minutes, then I can help you.» After 10 minutes we return to her location and ask the question she doesn’t point us to anything benefit and names off two brands — no location of where they are or which of the several types of the product each brand has. She also gave some other milling women similarly lackluster and zero detail comments upon their questions. Nothing proactive. No warm tones unlike other Ulta’s. We didn’t end up buying any type of that product, not feeling secure. The cashier was also a little moody for the regular cosmetics and hair items we bought. Bad customer experience. Maybe sephora is worth the drive.

RUDE Employees I want to support my local retailers so instead of stopping at the Ulta Store at Crossroads Shopping Center in Cary, NC I drove further to shop at the relatively new store in Holly Springs, NC. Usually I get great service and help at an Ulta store but today I had an awful experience. There were NO salespeople on the floor… only 2 people cutting hair and 2 people manning the check out. After searching for a particular item in the Professional Hair Products Section for at least 10 minutes(I knew it just had to be there! Maybe the product had new packaging or they moved it from where I normally find it in most Ulta Stores… I wandered up and down those silly aisles several times!) I asked one of the hair dressers«excuse me, do you still carry this product … I am having trouble finding it». I was told by one of the hairdressers that«I am in the middle of an appointment and can’t help you» while the other one didn’t even look at me. I was amazed. There wasn’t another salesperson anywhere that I could ask or I obviously would not have asked for help! I would have purchased a lot more product in this store had they only been friendly but I went right to the front and purchased what I had been able to find … which wasn’t a lot and left as fast as I could. A smile goes a long way. This particular store will never get any support from me ever again. I think I might start looking other places to purchase the products I get from Ulta. All it takes is one rude experience to have you rethink who you are supporting and today there are just too many options where businesses appreciate your patronage.

Out of stock. All triangle Ulta stores are always out of stock. So annoying. Call before you waste your time.

If I could give this store 0 stars I would. I went in with the intent to purchase multiple products as Christmas gifts. While waiting in the cosmetic section for assistance the one person working did not ask if I needed any help. I stood in the same spot for twenty minutes and nothing. When I was fed up I went to look around for some help with no one in sight but the person working in the register. This store needs some serious training when it comes to customer service as well as additional staff. After all, this is prime time holiday shopping. I left empty handed and they lost over what would have been more than two hundred dollars in sales.

Very helpful and kind sales associates! Helped me stay in my budget and assisted me with finding products that paired with my fair-skinned face.

First time in an Ulta — came to get Bare Essentials. Sales associate was very helpful; took her time with me to explain a few differences, didn’t push things on me I didn’t want. Everyone there that day was friendly — will definitely be back.

While laughter may be the best cosmetic, sometimes you want a little shimmer and polish to go along with it. Ulta Beauty probably has whatever kind of shine you’re looking for: dozens of nail polish colors, hair products, and just about anything to make your skin shimmer and glow. There is a hair salon at the back of the store and an entire section dedicated to eyebrows near the front of the store, complete with salon chairs. Ulta carries more brow products than I had ever imagined existed(I’ve never really imagined anything about brow products, but they seem to have a lot). There were so many brow products that I almost expected to see a unibrow transformation in the brow chair, on the spot. Browse the rows in the hair styling section and you’ll find a variety of straighteners, curling irons, and dryers ready to transform your ponytail into a shining halo of oo-la-la. Not only can you find some shimmer and shine you can also find a super selection of scents. Fragrances for both men and women. You can find high end products as well as low end products and everything in between. Sometimes it feels like a drugstore cosmetic aisle on steroids, other times its salon-like. Anyway, you are already gorgeous and this store might make you think you need all sorts of things to become beautiful. Don’t believe it. Ulta just makes it easy to find things that will enhance your natural beauty so you can put your best foot forward and be the best version of you.
