I miss this place, had one of the best nights here! went on a Solmatic night here, this place was featured in the begining of Oceans Eleven, what you saw was exactly what it was except with dance music and drunken people having a blast in a tight space. The dance floor was the place to be!

Here is the REAL scoop. I went to basque this past saturday night, after 10:30 guestlist is close, most will have to pay $ 20, the bouncers are cool and not a** holes, the club it self has a nice décor, the ladies behind the glass are sexy, but more décor adding to the lets dance mood of the club. the drink prices $ 18 two madori sours, little pricey, but they are strong. NOW for the CROWD, on staurday its a straight hip-hop crowd, not ghetto just a hip-hop crowd mostly african-americans, the music in the main room is mostly old school hiphop, and a few newer songs mixed in later in the night, the front room is very small about the size of someone living room, and the music is all newer hip hop. Everybody is here to just dance and have a good time, so I had fun

I don’t know why the last two people gave this place such a low rating, because I had an amazing time at this club. We were on a guest list but were pulled out of line by the security crew to cut and gain entry early so I feel if you show up dressed well and as always with enough girl to guy ratio you will get in without a wait and without a cover. The interior is very nice and club like complete with sultry ladies dancing in cage like boxes which creates a certain mood in the club. I being a girl felt kinda insecure by how hot they looked dancing in those glass boxes, but once I got over it they really help create a club environment. The drinks are almost pure hard alcohol so watch out for that, but at least you get alcohol for the somewhat high price of drinks there. You just may need to take your rum and coke in shot form instead ha. Overall a fun night out, great DJ and dancing.

Absolute worst club I have ever been to, and I’ve been to literally hundreds.(God that sounds pretentious, but it’s true!) I tried to give it no stars but you at least have to put one. The bouncers are jerks and have severe attitude. The cover was $ 20 on a weeknight. The cheapest simplest drink was a minimum of $ 11. Thats what all their mixed drinks START at. They don’t allow ins and outs, they have smoking section that doesn’t seem like its ventilated if it is at all. The crowd is a of mix agro frat boys and west side rejects. The security refused to control the crowd who was becoming violent so I tried to get my money back and they tried to stop me from even talking to the person who could give me my money back and leave after being in a short amount of time. When I did finally get to him he said no.

This club sucks… I went on a Sunday night and not only is it small, the crowd was not diverse at all. The dance floor is like the size of my living room =_= and there was a long line outside even though there weren’t even that many people inside. I am never coming back here again. Vallet parking $ 10 Coat check $ 5

I wanted to host a birthday party for my BFF on a Saturday night. I called 3 clubs to accomodate us, and Basque was by far the best at getting back to me and helping me with our party of 12. They also offered to put folks coming late on a guest list, which worked out great! So we arrive early with our cake in hand. They are not open til 9, but the valet calls the manager(Mark, awesome guy) and he lets us in early. Our server for the night(Moira, also awesome) takes our drink order and then makes them herself because the bartenders are not there. Strong, great drinks! We had great gorgonzola-steak salad, salmon and asparagus was perfect, hamburger & fries — all of the food was very well done. It was the service that just kept me bowled over. Mark came by and said«if you need anything else later tonight, here’s where my guys will be stationed, you just have them call me.» Now, this place is small, and our table was large for 12 so they’d put us right on the dance floor. When people started arriving en mass by 10:30, they brought out the birthday cake and kindly asked us to wrap up our tab so the dancing could begin. Moira then pointed me out to Chad, bartender extrordinaire, so I could open a tab with him for the rest of the night. The bar was full all night, but anytime I got near it he jumped to get me what I wanted. There were LOTS of guys there to keep the birthday girl happy. The music was a mix of hip hop and some top 40… we stayed til 2am dancing our butts off. It was a fab night, thank you Basque!

Friday night for«dinner» and a friends b-day celebration. We had a huge party and they accommodated by putting us on the dance floor meaning we were kicked off at 10:30pm. The food was horrible. No taste, no spice, no life. plain cooked pasta, plain lettuce, fishy crab. needless to say we sent back everything. they let us into one of the private rooms for the cake cutting. the carpeted ceilings were kinda sketchy. After 10:30 the place was hopping. The music was a good mix. The crowd was alright. It seemed a little empty even though there was a long line outside. Valet park, its convenient and only $ 10.

I went here on Tuesday night, the pseudo weekend experienced just two days ago. Located in the heart of Hollywood, on the corner of Hollywood and Vine I knew it’d be somewhat of an interesting night. We were on the infamous«makes-no-difference», guest list. Upon arrival valet was quick, upon leaving valet took about 15 minutes too long. The bartender was really nice but the drinks were a bit overpriced. Thought it’d be fun to go with a group of guy friends(me and 4 ‘dudes’), ended up feeling like I went out with 4 overprotective Italian brothers that would ‘shoe’ any guy that got within a foot of me. The music was great, but the floors were drenched in sloppy drunkenness. There was a spacious smoking patio but I don’t smoke. Would I come here again? No, but I don’t regret going.

Went on a Saturday earlier this month. Definitely a solid experience, but only because we were desperate. Our group(three girls, four guys) didn’t make it to Hollywood until around one, and the clock was ticking to get in somewhere. The catch was that one of the girls in the group was 20… the bouncer, luckily, took $ 20 to let her in(on top of the $ 20 cover – mildly ridiculous as the place was closing in an hour). So we all paid up, and honestly, had a great time. Mediocre top forty mixed with some good old school hip hop. Energy was high, drinks were weak, the dance floor was packed(a good thing, in my book)… Don’t plan on going back anytime soon, but if you’re stuck near Hollywood and Vine late on a Saturday, give it a shot :)

I went on a Monday night, and I was afraid it was going to be dead. Instead, it was packed! The cover was a little steep($ 20) but since I was designated driver that night, I guess it evened out for me because I wasn’t buying drinks. The people there were SERIOUS about dancing, which I loved. It wasn’t just drunken stumbling and groping, so if you’re not prepared to actually dance, stay by the bar. Other than that, I thought the crowd was generally friendly(unusual for a Hollywood club) — a guy accidentally spilled his drink on me, and he actually sincerely apologized! I had a great time, and would definitely go back.

I probably didn’t give this place much of a chance, but it seemed kinda lame when I was there. No line outside, and girls got in free which was awesome of course. The drinks weren’t poured too strong, and the music was kinda lacking. You have to go through the doors to get to the hip hop. Lots of scandalous girls wearing tiny pieces of fabric were dancing behind the bar, and above the dance floor, which was kinda cool. I should have stayed longer to see if the vibe got better, but for a place that’s so talked about, it seemed overrated.

We hit up this trendy Hollywood and Vine club last Friday night for my sister’s birthday — a handful of guys and 20 girls gave us a slight discount to the normally $ 20 cover. House spins in the tiny front room which doubles as the smoking room. Inside, a handful of go go dancers in tame lingerie absently undulate in red light district-style glass booths set into the walls and ceiling, overlooking a 100-person dance floor playing primarily hip hop. Personal impressions for the night: the staff was rude, the drinks were overpriced(but typical for such a popular club), a bartender chick«forgot» to give me back $ 20 in change, the crowd ran heavily Persian(unsure if that’s the norm), and the girls overall were noticeably more attractive than the typical L.A. Club.(In contrast, I asked and the girls said they didn’t find any attractive guys.) Aside from the hot pants-clad leggy ladies in the crowd who were hotter than the hired go go dancers, I can’t think of any remote reason to suffer a revisit.

I planned our corporate holiday party here and they did not disappoint. Call manager, Peter, in advance if you’re gonna throw something huge here. He can get you the full run of the club and a wonder chef, Josh, to cater your event. Food was fantastic. Our DJ played the hits. Then came the after party, which is when our corporate party was over and the real denizens rolled in. Peter kindly gave us the large VIP room in the back(we did drop some serious duckets before.) We got great bottle service and danced our butts off all night. I had a run in with Lindsay Lohan by the ladies room –so to those who say this place has seen better days, hogwash. People still come here for the music, the dancing and BESTOFALL– large indoor smoking area right in the front entrance. I’m gonna give them the double fists of props– ugh!

Last Saturday night… We arrive our happy little asses(well, in my case, not so little ass) at about 10:30 in hopes that we would be let in early so we could start with the drinking early. SIKE! The door guys used a lame excuse about them fixing some stuff inside and so we weren’t allowed in yet. Pfft… whatever homie! We knew they REALLY kept us standing outside just so that the drivers-by would think that there was a line to get into this place so that THEY could look cool. So, there we were, 6 scantily clad women standing outside a club in what felt like 40 degree weather. Oh well… we’re troopers! So, finally, around 11:15 they decide that the line has gotten long enough for them to start letting people in and IN we go. I was impressed by how comfy-looking it was. It isn’t your typical Hollywood club that feels like they’re just trying to hard. I was a bit wary before going there because I looked up the reviews and saw that people didn’t generally enjoy this place, but after being there I really don’t understand why it has gotten such bad reviews. I had a great time, although I must admit that I didn’t have the typical club experience when I was there. It was my friend’s birthday and about 50 friends of hers showed up, so I’d say that about 1⁄3 of the people in the club were with our group. It definately felt like I recognized or knew most of the faces I saw. I DID notice that it seems to be very cliquey, as are most Hollywood clubs. The different groups seemed to stick together and there was really no intermingling. So, maybe if I had just gone with just a few girls my experience would not have been as pleasant. Also, I probably would have had a lot more fun had I been drinking that night. I was designated driver so I only had two drinks and all before 12:00 a. m so I would be able to drive my cousin and me home. I’m such a good girl. =) So, not a bad place to go at all, if you like to dance. The music was really good, I don’t know much about mixing, but the DJ there seemed to have a really good selection of music and did a good job of keeping the dance floor packed. He also won huge kudos(does anyone else under the age of 60 say that??) for ending the night with a slow dance… I’d never seen that at a club before. Oh, which song did he play, you ask? Well, he ended the night with… «Feeling On Your Booty» by R. Kelly!!! Needless to say, all the we’re-in-love couples and i-just-met-you-but-wanna-feel-on-your-booty couples, filled up the dance floor and enjoyed the last few minutes of their time there. So, all in all, a good time indeed!

Is it okay for a club to keep the guest list-ers waiting longer than people who walk straight up to the door? I know«the guest list» is pretty much just an urban myth these days anyway, but still. This is your typical azn-sleaze hideaway, with the same uninspiring clientele and set list. I did have fun when I came, but that was more about who I was with than the club itself. The«sultry» girls dancing around in the glass cages were kind of boring, actually, and the drinks were overpriced and overwatered, but hey, that’s LA.

A bit over rated, they keep people waiting outside to make it look as though the club is in high demand, but once you get inside there aren’t too many people. The drinks are fairly strong, and priced the same as any Hollywood night spot would be. Sometimes the DJ is awesome, creating a good dance vibe, sometimes not so much. If you pay attention, C-list«celebs» can be found in the booths that line the walls and sometimes on the dance floor. Probably wouldn’t go again.
