This place is pretty cool! The drinks were amazing too. But only bad thing about this place is the smell when you walk in. I mean I know is a bar and drinks fall on the floor. But I think they need to put candles or febreze. It took me about 10 min to adjust to the smell. That’s the only bad thing about this place.

This place is THE place if you want real cocktail in an intimate space, with people who care about what they make, despite the location. I am upset I am just finding out and expect to be here all the time. It’s about quality people. Quality.

Stellar drinks and unique delicious nibbles in a very cool atmosphere. The bar is a bit hard to see from the outside, which I liked, and it added to the feel that you were hanging out in the basement of a train station with all the lost luggage. You have to have the spiced nuts, made in house with a delicious addictive Indian flavor. The bar features top shelf liquors thoughtfully combined into some very delightful cocktails. The owner/bartenders/chefs all take their jobs very seriously and put their all into creating a super experience. Try the Tom & the Tambourine if you’re in the mood for some heat in your drink, the Rolls Royce felt like a classic, and ask for the 3000 mile Mai Tai for the most refined example I’ve ever had. They leave me wanting to come back again every time!

Kudos to Jeremy and Rhino for creating one of the best bars I’ve ever been to(and I’m part owner of a bar myself, so I don’t say that lightly). Lost Property seems to attract just the right crowd — unpretentious people who love a good drink and appreciate a laidback vibe — and treats them right. This place is a real keeper.

This is such a nice addition to the whole silly-stupid revamp of Hollywood & Vine that is eviscerating all the great character of old time Hollywood! It’s a nice and quiet respite from the louder sports bar 33 Taps it is located behind. Darker, moodier, a «noir bar» if ever there was one: If you expect to meet Nikki Minaj in 33 Craps up front? Here, you hope for and half expect a young Lauren Bacall will saunter in to teh bar and order a Last Word or a Manhattan. ;~) So enter, take that risk and walk north 50 feet instead of settling for a piss-pour cocktail on the boulevard, get either of the über-talented barkeeps, Jeremy or Rhino, to whip up what they do best: the brilliantly mixed drinks, the inventive names I can’t remember here on teh spot, but they are all prepared before your eyes with care and attention to detail and they use only really high end spirits and good earthy ingredients to make each with. Seriously, these guys are using daily prepared herbs, juices, expensive bitters etc. Combined with their extensive knowledge and prowess? You will not be served a better drink anywhere nearby. Some nights there is music or parties in the beautiful and spacious area extending off the bar and it should be said that ther is some pretty tasty grub to nosh on here: the flat breads and pizzas are good and the slider trio is terrific, as are the generous servings of parmesan or sweet potato fries. It really is a warm and comfortable change of pace, a place to talk with strangers sitting beside you while sipping bygone era cocktails…

First of all, I’m reticent to give this place such a glowing review from a merely selfish standpoint: I know that with the great reviews this place is garnering, it’s going to become much more crowded than it has been up to this point. I’ve only visited twice but I can tell you some of the most well prepared drinks I’ve had in town. The only downside is that the menu changes so if you find a drink you are in lust with, it is advised you commit the name to memory as it may not be on the specialty cocktail menu next go-round and you will have to advise the bartender what you are after. That being said I’ve never been disappointed with anything I’ve ordered. The drinks aren’t necessarily bargain priced but are on par with most other cocktail bars– meaning don’t If you come to a place like this expecting four dollar rum and Cokes .You get what you pay for. The atmosphere is very much what i imagine would be akin to some Ivy League salon with a of pipe smoking and scotch siping Ivy League professors cheerfully imbibe– circa 50 or so years ago. Think Wood paneled walls and leather-bound books ala John Houseman in «the Paper Chase». One one occasion I spoke to one owner who was very hospitable and assured me they intended to stay part of the Hollywood community. Overall a great quiet bar in an area of Hollywood you wouldn’t necessarily expect it to be in.

I’m loathe to write this review for fear that it will entice you to visit, and subsequently fall head over heels for, this dreamy little bar that’s everything you imagined your dad’s dark mysterious study was like, except he never let you in. Neatly tucked around the corner at the intersection of Hollywood & Vine, you’d never expect to find something so wonderful… but there it is, Lost Property. Go ahead. Read my review. Go to the bar. Muck it up with your loud talking and boisterous gesturing, tell all your deviant friends you just had the best drink ever and have new found love for all things whiskey/scotch/bourbon and that you’re going to grow a luxury mustache and dress nicer, goddammit. Let’s get this straight, darlings: I live in Hollywood, so of course I curled the corner of my upper lip(just as you surely are right now) at the preposterous notion that there could be anything at this intersection that I’d want any part of. Teeming with every manner of so-and-so I desperately care to avoid(especially on weekends), why… WHY. I’ll tell you why. If a sip of scotch could put its arm around a silky pour of bourbon while coyly giving bedroom eyes to an old jazz record flirting with a… a… I don’t even know what — but if you could turn all that into a bar, this is it. Go to Lost Property. While you’re sitting there weeping at angels because the Vieux Carré is the best you’ve ever had, remember to say thank you to whomever is standing behind the bar. I mean, say a real thank you, the kind you save for really special moments, and mean it. And here’s something else: you may find yourself completely enamored with your beverage, you may ignore your friends, your lover, and suddenly you may find yourself feeling a bit nostalgic for a cocktail you had once, downtown… years ago. you realize it was the first time a cocktail made you stop — you had to put it down. then pick it up. then stare at it. you were at Rivera… that’s right. and the drinks were magic. the ICECUBES were magic. in one sip you learned how to cock your eyebrow and fire off a sultry sideways glance. magic. and you’re feeling that way again, why? because, god bless your little booze-lovin’ soul, you were under the spell of Julian Cox and Jeremy Lake and your libation tinglers are all a-flutter because lo and behold, it’s Lake behind the bar and you can be happy again. Food should be memorable, and cocktails should be so lovely, so perfect, that you end up writing crazy Unilocal reviews like this one. *swoon*

This was an astonishing new place in Hollywood! I passed by this front door so many times without even guessing this place was a bar and serving small bites. Everything is excellent including the crowd who is so relax and without any pretension considering the location. Bartenders definitely know what they are doing and among the 3 cocktails I tried that night all where perfect, great job! I will go back for sure as soon as they’ll re-open.

Superb bartenders. Drinks are delightful. If you can’t find a drink you like from their pretty amazing drink menu, you can also have a custom-made drink — just tell one of the fine bartenders your choice of liquor and what kind of taste you’re looking for, and just let them work their magic. Very chill and classy place to catch up with friends or on a date.

Where is this place? THEAMBIANCE: We were meeting up some friends and got a little lost with the Über driver. I finally noticed a door with a blue lighted logo of a suitcase, martini, and question mark and a small stand-up sign with the venue’s name. After a chicano u-turn, we were there. The space is pretty nice. It has dark wood, mirrors, a small bar and a sofa that lines the walls/chairs and tables. It was really dark and lighted by candles and dim light fixtures. The music was some sort of western mix. Our server was Edder and he was witty and friendly. He told us that the concept of the Lost Property Bar was that the items we saw around the room were«lost property» and we could take what we like. He said we were not required to leave something behind; all we would do is pick something, take a photo with it, and upload it to a social media forum. I thought that was both weird and interesting. I looked around and there were hats, shoes, scarves, purses, ties, books, etc. lying on tables/hanging from the walls, etc. I looked behind me and there was a huge, beautiful mirror. I asked if I could take that and with a smile Edder said«if you can carry it!» Oh, I’ll carry it. I should have tried … For the most part, it was pretty dead. It might be a marketing thing/the music/something is missing. I went to their website and there is nothing to click on, really. Also, if the venue had lounge music(smooth tempo, bobbing your head tunes) while keeping true to its western/whiskey bar feel the customer base would highly increase. It is a nice space. A large, old, rustic chandelier in the center of the room would stand out. The sign outside also needs to be changed so that it is more attractive looking and noticeable. THEDRINKS: Lost Property Bar is a whiskey bar. I tried the Dramble(Eldorado 12 yr Rum, Allspice Dram Liqueur, Raspberries, Lemon, Mint Sprig, $ 15). It was one of their«refreshing» cocktails. It was good. The only thing was that I was literally sipping raspberries/seeds and some got stuck in my teeth. As a tip, don’t chew the raspberry purée. THETIPS: There were books and suitcases near the entrance/exit of the bar. I picked up a book and Edder said I could take it. I don’t know if the suitcases were just for decoration purposes because they were sideways against the wall. They might have been props that were cut in half and glued to the wall. Someone please check and take one if you can. I feel like I lost out on an opportunity here. ;-)

I thought I wrote one already, well okay Unilocal,I’ll do it again. YES to this place. Rhino and staff are some of the best in the area! The drinks, are made with perfection and care. The place is wonderful inside. I still haven’t tried the food, but I’m sure it’s great. Definitely has a speakeasy feel about it. Excellent for beginning or ending your night, and even better if you do the whole night there! The ONLY thing that’s a bit of a bugger is parking. But if you can Über yourself there, do it! Tell Rhino, Jay(with the hat) sent you! Cheers!

It’s great to have a cool, non-pretentious, cocktail bar within walking distance of my place. I dig Davey Wayne’s but sometimes you don’t need the scene & just want a great whiskey cocktail in a chill dark bar. This place will be my new regular neighborhood drink spot.

Yay! This is located at Hollywood and Vine, in what was the downstairs back room at 33 Taps. Some fine blokes opened Lost Property, a bit more upscale whiskey bar that I think Hollywood has been sorely needing. Especially one convenient to my neighborhood. :) Lost Property is more intimate, dimly lit, warm and congenial, with a fine selection of scotch whiskey and a staff that welcomes you with a smile. Rhino(yes, his real name. He’s Welsh.) and Jeremy have never been anything but kind and gracious hosts. And if you’re looking to explore whiskey, well, this is a great place to do it. Rhino has let me buy flights of scotch, and bourbon, so that I might successfully expand my palette. It’s always good to have a knowledgeable staff. The crafted cocktails here are delicious, too. My go-to is the Lincoln’s Anecdote, a bourbon based, citrusy delight. The Ivy Maid is a refreshing vodka, mint and cucumber drink. Prices are a bit higher, but certainly competitive to the general crafted cocktail trend in Hollywood and west. Anything crafted will be in the $ 10 to $ 12 range pretty much anywhere you go, including here. But it’s not about quantity, folks, its about quality. And if you don’t see something you like on the drink menu, tell a bartender what sort of things you like, and they’ll concoct something right there for you on the spot. And if you still just want a beer, they have a few interesting choices there, too. :) They even have some appropriate food choices, too, like various cheeses, charcuterie, and I believe they have some artisan pizzas.(I haven’t had any yet.) Oh, and ask about the spiced mixed nuts. All in all, a fine place to have a cocktail. Great atmosphere, some live music Sunday and Wednesday, knowledgeable and friendly staff. These are all good things. :) Cheers! (So, the price range is Moderate to Pricey, depending on how you look at it. If you want a $ 4 pounder of PBR, go to Loaded. If you want a fine crafted cocktail with some ambience, come here and spend a bit more. Somewhere between $$ and $$$.)

This is one of my favorite places in LA. I wish I made it over more but I have very few free evenings. Rhino and Jeremy are some of the best bartenders I’ve come across and I’ve known a few. They have a strong cocktail menu, my favorite being the River Bank. Rhino also makes an incredible Irish Coffee. They have a good selection of other drinkable a as well… My particular go to being Teeling on the rocks.(Or rock as they use larger cubes.) The spot is very cool, dark wood, and«lost property» strewn about. If you need to pick up a scarf you may be able to barter for one. They have a similar service with their liquor where you can purchase a bottle from them and house it there for whenever you and your friends want to stop by. Sometimes they have live music, not sure what the schedule for that is. I have not tried the food yet. As far as parking… Well it is Hollywood. Either be prepared to pay or walk. Or take a Lyft! Then you can drink more!

Every Friday after work, before even taking a deep breath to welcome the weekend, I come to Lost Property and to my good friends Rhino and Jeremy. Order an Old-Fashioned, take a deep breath, a sip, and you’re in fucking heaven. One of the best ones, if not THEONE already. I encourage everyone to come and get blasted in what I believe is the best bar in town. Salud!

My friend and I stumbled on this awesome whiskey bar on the way home from dinner. It’s got a speakeasy vibe and one of the bartenders, Rhino, is such a cool guy. He was very conversational and shared his story of how he left NY for LA and his plans in this city. He’s a very knowledgeable mixologist and the cocktails were perfectly crafted. Customer service was great, not just for me but I saw how they treated all the guests at the bar. I asked where the bathrooms were since the place was so dimly lit and he actually walked me over to where the hallway was. I’m so so so glad to have found yet another great craft cocktail bar in Hollywood!
