Big Umm… s Located inside Yellow Green Farmers market is a real treasure. My husband is not usually a picture taking kind of guy but when you feel the love coming through in a place like this what can you do? You have to take a picture of the enormous muffuletta sandwich and the lovely folks who smile and make this a delicious and pleasant Sunday experience. I had a very tasty gumbo. We have been here several times and have had everything from the Cajun wrap to beignets. Soon they will feature the famous Po Boy sandwiches as well. We all know Miami has a gazillion food options but straight up this is a real treat and you can certainly feel the warmth in your belly and in the owners authentic hospitality and knowing Louisiana smiles.

Yesterday, I was craving some good olé New Orleans Cajun food. So I Unilocaled it and came Across this place. It’s located at the farm market. It’s not a full restaurant but they do have two tables located behind their place. The owners, Ellis and Charlotte(sorry if your name is spelled incorrect) are from New Orleans and are both incredibly nice. We ordered the gumbo, crawfish/shrimp étouffée, and crawfish bread. Oh man, all were good. I added some spice to the étouffée to bring it up a notch since they make it mild. Once I did that, it was the étouffée i once remembered. The gumbo had the perfect combination of meat, rice, and flavor. The crawfish bread was bigger than it looked on the menu. It was like a crawfish sandwich served on this soft French bread. Very yummy.

So I’ve been craving home cooking without having to cook it or go home to Louisiana to get it. About August I came across Big Umm at the Hollywood Farmers market and baby it was ON! Now the market will be open Thursday and Friday too and I swear I might start doing that switch the food from the container to the pot thing I saw on television! Try Everything! Literally walk in and PICK you’ll LOVE it ALL!

5 stars all the way. Best authentic cajun cuisine in South Florida hands down! Everything is outstanding if you like it homestyle. Jambalaya, crawfish etouffe, red beans and rice with smoked sausage, gumbo, crawfish bread, the works. And it’s all cooked with a lotta love and a lotta soul. I hit up Yellow Green market and get a couple of quarts to go, usually the jambalaya and red beans with a couple extras. MmmmMmmm! Mouth is watering just thinking about it!
