Great Romanian food with a lively atmosphere. The food is delicious, a bit on the salty side, but absolutely worth a try. They bake the bread on the premises, and it tastes like ‘real’ bread… For those who miss the taste of European bread, this is a must! Staff was attentive and friendly.

Terrible, ordered pasta primavera and just ate vegetable, pasta was overlooked. My husbands dish of pasta was also awful, what a waste of money. We stopped and ordered a delicious pizza from Linos as we were still hungry. So many other better choices in town…

Love love love, I grew up in NY and am part Italian, I have a high expectation when it comes to my food, lol, especially Italian food. Vendetta has the best eggplant parmigiana from their appetizer list, I have had in Florida and better then most restaurants in NY. The ambiance is always on point, and is the nicest restaurant on Hollywood Blvd hands down. The Waitstaff is always extremely helpful. My husband is Romanian, (From Romania) so he usually converses with our server and enjoys the Romanian cuisine as well. I placed to-go orders over the phone on multiple occasions and they made me a special order of penne alla vodka(I had the biggest pregnancy craving for) that wasn’t on the menu and it was amazing. The hostess/server took my custom order with no hesitation and if you have ever worked in the restaurant business you know this is extremely rare for a chef/establishment to do. They made my custom order no questions asked and did it to perfection. It’s extremely hard to find a restaurant that can make red sauce right and they exceeded my expectations. For dessert the Romanian donuts are out of this world amazing. I believe I had the owner take my order when I went there specifically for the donuts and he was extremely helpful and kind. If I had unlimited amounts of money I would eat at this restaurant a couple of times a week. Normal pricing for amazing food accompanied by a fancier/more upscale ambiance. Definitely worth a try and would eat Italian food here over mama mias, any day.(Mama mias is overhyped, overpriced bad Italian). Vendetta has homestyle Italian food, and can make gravy comparable to Sunday macaroni dinners in an Italian home.

This was very much below average food. The chicken seemed under cooked. Service on the slow side. Would not go back.

My favorite restaurant in South Florida, both the Romanian and Italian food are amazing. If you come here don’t be afraid to order off the Romanian menu, it’s exotic but oh so yummy. Then again I am quite adventurous when it comes to cuisine, I love new experiences so if you’re not a person that likes new things and authentic flavors could also stick to the regular menu I guess.

We went with a groupon that included two glasses of wine(Valued at $ 8 or less), 1 appetizer(excluding crab cake), and 2 entrees(excludes chef specials). Our bill would have been $ 85, but the groupon cost me $ 56. You must make a reservation to be allowed to use your groupon, even though the places is not full. They asked me multiple times if I had made a reservation. They bring warm white bread to the table with an olive tapenade dip. I requested butter or plain olive oil, but never received it. We started with the meatball appetizer. It comes with 2 regular sized meatballs topped with a good marinara and two dollops of ricotta cheese and some basil. These were good. I had the veal with mushroom cream sauce. I decided veal is not my favorite dish. It was served with yummy mashed potatoes and a large spear of broccoli. My friend had the lobster ravioli which was served with several shrimp and a pink cream sauce. He was happy with his entrée. We had to request water. Waiter didn’t check on us. We sat outside. they do have a nice dining room and large bar area. The tables are set with linens. You can park for free along the streets. There is a Romanian menu you can request. Our server was from Romania. Overall, it was an okay experience considering we had the money savings from the groupon, but I wouldn’t want to pay full price for the quality of service we received.

So I can’t speak too much on the food, but their drinks are well made and the staff are fun. I came tonight for a party after hours, which they occasionally have, and I was just amazed by the organization of the staff, and the ability to order a drink at ease. I also got a free drink on the house. I looked forward to trying there food menu next time I come.

Went here for a business lunch meeting and was quite disappointed. Restaurant is very nice. Food is mediocre, nothing special just average. While waiting for our food there were gnats flying around everywhere. When we told our server he acted like he didn’t know what we were saying although he could clearly see them as there were maybe about 8 – 10 flying around our table alone. All in all wouldn’t go back. There are many others spots in the area that are better.

Fine dining experience. Waitress from Romania was more than sweet. My lady’s salmon and my veal Parmesan were excellent. Will certainly return again.

The Worst Of The Worst! We went in today for my mother’s 73rd birthday — horrible mistake! The waiter was from Hell! as soon as we sat down we felt an uncomfortable feeling and friction from the waiter. The waiter was very short and rude. He first forgot our drinks. When we asked for bread he almost bit off our heads for asking and then refused to bring us bread until the appetiser was served. He then brought out the wrong appetizer and when we told him we did not order that dish he then started arguing with us insisting we ordered it in a very disrespectful and aggressive manner. He then become more enraged and mumbled nonsense under his breathe and snatched the wrong apetizer off the table and twisted back to the kitchen. At this point we decided we had enough abuse and were ready to leave. We went to the bar and spoke with the manager and/or owner –as we were speaking with the owner the waiter was eavesdropping and looked over at us and called us «Motherfuckers» and a few other choice words. I spoke up and asked him what he said? He dropped what ever he was playing around with behind the bar and started to charge me and verbally assaulted us some more and then threatened us with violence in front of the entire restaurant causing a Huge scene. The owner, manager and 2 other waiters had to hold him back and block him from rushing out from behind the bar to assult us. I will be be contacting the better business bureau and the city of hollywood code compliance as well as city hall about almost being attacked by a waiter for simply trying to enoy, order and celebrate my mother’s 73rd birthday. Diners beware — you too may be a victim of asult if you ask or say the wrong thing in this restaurant! By the way this restaurant is appropriately named — «The Vendetta!» Beware!

Sorry to say but after our waiter really have tried his best his manager didn’t understand how to handle the customer, or the fish! We felt sorry for the apologizing waiter and will nerver return to this place. Remember to ask about the prize if you choose the Chef’s special.

DON’T GOHEREFORITALIANFOOD. You can get that any time. I’m sure their Italian food is good, too. But, these folks are Romanian, and their Romanian food is very good. Between my friend and I, the mamaliga(Romanian polenta) appetizer, salata de muraturi, and tochitura dobrogeana(stew, served with a side of mamaliga) was plenty. We started off with shots of tuica, Romanian plum liquor. Not the same as grandma’s homemade swill, but I hear Romania is now industrializing the tuica industry, so it looks like factory-made tuica will soon become the norm. The food was so delicious. The mamaliga was perfectly smooth, and generous servings of sour cream and shredded cheese was perfect.

The food was very delicious, romantic interior, beautiful place. Our waitress was very nice until we got our check. I paid cash, and I didn’t have small bills. I put 100 $. She took the check and didn’t brought the change back. After 10 minutes she asked us «Are you waiting for change?» I said yes. Her face was unhappy. She brought change back. And she was very mad. My change was 50% tip. After that I left for her 25%. She still was unhappy and mad on us. What’s going on??? What i did wrong??? I’m very disappointed.

Went with friends. They got Hungarian food I went for Italian. Had the linguine with mushrooms. Food looked nice and was presentable but I wasn’t impressed with the taste. The whole hungarian & italian mixed together concept made me skeptical as well but I’m always up for giving a place a chance. Restaurant is pretty. Service was mediocre. Food eh, pass.

My boyfriend and I passed by this place many times and came by a Groupon for it so that was an incentive to try it. The Groupon was for $ 58 for dinner for 2 which included 1 appetizer under $ 12.95, 2 entrees and 2 glasses of wine which was perfect for a nice rainy weeknight. Our waiter was very nice and attentive and we told him we had a Groupon that we purchased to try to place out. He went to a table next to us and spoke to the gentlemen seated there and came back asking if we had made a reservation. We said no. 1st of all he should have known if we had made a reservation, 2nd it was a weeknight, there was 2 other families there and us, why would he even ask us? I felt like my patronage was completely unwanted there and it was a bad start. Then the food came out. The warm delicious bread served with a side of seasoned olive oil, 2 gigantic glasses of Chardonnay, blackened shrimp on a bed of greens, Beef tenderloins in a mushroom, dijon sauce and a skirt steak that was so buttery, so tender and cooked to perfection that it melt in your mouth. The food — FANTASTIC The waiter — Very friendly and atttentive The ambiance — Wonderful, Family friendly or great for a date The Owner/Manager — Unwelcoming Maybe the Groupon was a put off and I get it. I think most people get them as a reasonable way to try something different out. Once they’ve tried it out and thought the service or food was great then they’ll come back for more. But because the Owner/Manager made me feel unwelcomed at the start of my meal makes me not want to go back. So buy your Groupons, screw the manager and hug the cook! The food will not disappoint!

Have you ever wondered what a dining experience would be like in Europe and have never been? Come here! You’ll definitely get that experience. This is a hidden gem, it is an undercover Romanian restaurant. To us Americans, it just seems like a mediocre Italian restaurant, because that’s what it’s advertised as. But it’s actually owned by a Romanian and most of the people that come and hang out here are Romanians. I was lucky enough to have an awesome Romanian friend to give me an inside scoop! We were having our girls’ day and I wanted to try something Romanian because I never had it before. So I let her take the reigns on what to order and put my trust in her hands. We started off with this dish of assorted appetizers that are popular in Romania. There was egglant spread, fish roe spread, red onions, salami, Romanian feta type cheese, cucumbers, tomatoes, and olives. These are all eaten with bread. All were very tasty and interesting to try. The fish roe spread was salty, so it definitely needed to be eaten with bread, the red onions complimented that spread very well. As for the entrée, she ordered for us the Romanian sausage, which is a mix of beef and lamb to be eaten with mustard. And it came with a side of polenta and sour cream on top. All very interesting combinations I’ve never had and were tasty to eat. According to my friend, the sausage was good, but the polenta and sour cream could’ve been better. Since this is my first time eating it, I don’t have anything to compare it to, so I trust her judgement. She wants me to come back again because there’s so many dishes I still need to try, so I’ll definitely be coming back. As with any European dining experience, it was a long meal and the service was mediocre. It takes forever to get the check and to get back the card to sign. If you’ve ever been to Europe, you know this is typical. Don’t come here expecting great service, Europeans are definitely not known for that.

I went to Fort Lauderdale with TBW to visit some friends. You know I was busy drinking all day long. I napped, but when dinner rolled around I knew I would require something hearty to keep me going. You know, sop up all the booze. Our friends that live in the Hollywood area suggested Vendetta. Not because they had ever tried it, but because they had heard really good things. Unilocal confirmed this. Off we went. We got there and the outdoor area was mostly full, a few empty tables, but inside was completely dead. I didn’t take this as a very good sign and was a bit nervous, but also starving, so what the hell, right? We were seated with enormous menus and a pretty awful waiter. He didn’t laugh at our jokes. Granted, they may or may not have been funny, but bro come onnnn. The customer is always right and all that… make us feel loved! He was really slow to bring the drinks. Bummer. When we ordered, I asked him if the Risotto Alla Vendetta was any good. He said«There is shrimp and rice with spinach». Okay, not really what I asked for but I realized I wasn’t going to get a better answer out of him, and went ahead and ordered that. The food came quickly which was great, and the portions were HUGE. I’m known to finish everything on my plate and probably what’s left on yours, but I couldn’t finish my dinner. I ate about ¾ of it and that was tough and slow going. So. Much. Food. Everyone felt similarly about their dishes too, and we are not«light» or even«smart» eaters. It was actually fairly tasty too. They didn’t skimp on the shrimp helping — that’s always refreshing! The arborio rice was pretty well cooked. Not anything amazing, but not bad either! I truly enjoyed my dish and would order it again. The biggest bummer was the service. Our waiter didn’t come check on us at all before or after dropping off the entrees, so we only wound up with two rounds of drinks all night. We certainly would have ordered more if he had been more attentive, but waving your arms wildly every time you have to signal him isn’t super cute. We also waited what felt like forever for bread and water. I hate having to ask for it! And the martinis were off the mark… with lots of pulp floating in them(from the olive juice I assume?) and the first one was too dirty and the second one was almost completely vodka… I just can’t get on board with these. So…yeah. Vendetta did have good food, but poor service and a dead atmosphere. I’m a pain in the you-know-what but everyone in my party agreed on the food being worth another trek, but the lack of drinks and almost unfriendly waiter make it hard to rush back. I don’t live in Hollywood, but if I did, I might give it another try… or grab dinner to go.
