Los Kausitas Peruvian Restaurant

Don’t let the simple look of the restaurant or short simple menu fool you. Short just means they really concentrate on making every item taste amazing. The flavors are anything but simple.
I came with an already full stomach from a late lunch so wasn’t sure if I would enjoy the meal. But as soon as the first bite full of explosive flavors was taken boy oh boy I became ravenous for more. The seafood ceviche was prolific with fish squids octopus and clams and tasted so fresh and popping. The spinach spaghetti, a new dish for me, tasted divine and the steak was tender and moist. The portions here are quite generous and the prices are more than reasonable.
The only con is there is no ambience. So this isn’t a good choice for a fancy first date when you’re looking to impress with white linen or cloth napkins but definitely a must go after the courting is over and you want to concentrate on impressing your own taste buds.

Absolutely love this place!!! Great food and service! Walked in right away I was greeted nicely and was super informed about the menu. I ordered to go and everything was correct, is right by my house which is a plus and affordable prices.

La primera vez que fui me encanto, su comida es realmente deliciosa, la señora madre del dueño muy agradable, pero a mi cuarta vez de haber ido me atendió una camarera colombiana joven muy desagradable, no sabia ni donde estaba parada, nuestra comida se la dio a otro comenzal, y el señor le dijo que no era de él, olvido todo lo que le pedimos, es una pena que lugares con tan buena comida … no elijan bien a sus camareros porque por ese lado pueden perder mucha clientela!

Eat here now!!! Don’t think about it, be about it. The ceviche mixto is on point. Flavorful and worth the money. Hands down one of the best ceviche spots out there. I’ll be eating here again next time I’m up north!

The most amazing food! Their Lomo is outstanding and their tallarine verde is to die for. The downside is that they close at 8 pm pm Saturdays and are closed on Sundays. Really??? They are doing themselves a big injustice becAuse peruvian cuisine is popping up all over Hollywood and they are at great risk of losing customers

Excelente comida, muy buenos precios y excelente trato, la camarera nada mas llegar nos sirvió una sopa deliciosa!, el ceviche es abundante y delicioso lo recomiendo absolutamente, el mejor peruano que he encontrado desde que llegue a la Florida!

Small, maybe 8 tables, nondescript but very clean and one of the very best Peruvian food I’ve tried in Florida. Excellent lomo salteado and all ceviches were fresh and abundant. All plates served around me looked very good and no one complained.
You can be in Lima and not have food as good as this one. Service was nice.

The food at this restaurant was good but I didn’t feel welcomed. This restaurant closes at 9pm but when we arrived at around 8:15 they shut off the lights to the restaurant. I had to call and ask if they were still open, while siting in my car watching them close up the place, it was a bit embarrassing because i brought my family over here for dinner and I was going by the Unilocal reviews that this restaurant was good. When we arrived, there was not 1 single soul and when the staff at the restaurant seen us pull up in the parking lot in front of their restaurant they started shutting off their lights.
Nevertheless they sat us at a table, but the restaurant smelled like heavy cleaning supplies, pine sol or bleach, we requested to sit outside, there were seats outside for dinning but with no lights, we were literally eating in the pitch black darkness of night, the only light we had was from their neon «open“‘sign that flashed through their window lol.
The food was pretty good but not something to come back for, we ordered mixed seafood ceviche and bistec a la pobre, bit were really good.
I probably won’t return to this restaurant not because of the food but because of my dining experience.

I was impressed by this restaurant. It is small and unassuming. However food is excellent — my pescado a lo macho was among the best I have ever tried, chicha morada was prepared in the restaurant and not the overly sweetened bottle stuff. Portion size is very generous and prices are very reasonable. A nice older lady — I presume the owner — greeted each patron and inquired if everything was OK. Service in general was fast, attentive and professional. Will be back to try their ceviches and kausas.

Great breakfast Lurin! They also have good lunch specials. Little but a really good place to eat some Peruvian food

Get the ceviche mixto. It’s is one of the best I ever had…
The spaghetti with green sauce and steak is also very good

The pollo Salteado was very delicious! Very flavorful and fresh. I also had the chicha juice which was new for me. The servers were very kind and attentive. This is by far the best pollo salteado I ever had. The portions are very big as well.

Orginaly planned to got to ceviche 954 but the service there was so bad we had to leave. Came here for the first time and the service was quick and very friendly. Had the ceviche and leche de tiger. Both were really great and nice portion size. Had the flan for dessert. I think they bring it in from somewhere else. It was just ok. We would def come back next time we are in the area

Went for lunch and disappointed in the meal. Got the lomo saltado for $ 9, because it was a lunch special. I was excited to find such a good deal, or so I thought. Upon getting home to eat my lunch I see that it is mostly just onions. And 5 pieces of actual meat in there. Argh! I rather pay more and not have a plate of onions! To top it off, 5 pieces of dry meat! Definitely will not be returning to this place so many other Peruvian places that have better meals!

First time here. Came because of the reviews. It is a tiny, strip mall restaurant. We had the lomo saltado sandwich and it was really good! The chicken causa is pretty big but it didn’t have onions and the ceviche mixto. The ceviche was good but the octopus was kinda chewy. Service is fast and good, though there is only one waitress. I gave it 3 stars because I have had better Peruvian food in other places but in general it was pretty good. I would not recommend the ceviche but I would def recommend the pollo saltado sandwich.

Little and decent restaurant in Hollywood. We went for a quick lunch and overall, our experience was OK.
Good to try: Chicken causa: Consistent and flavorous. Ceviche mixto: Good on fish and seafood quantity (the lime sauce, called «Leche de tigre» was a little sour but it was OK). Pollo saltado: The chicken version of the traditional Peruvian «Lomo saltado».
The service is friendly bur unprofessional, you have to call the server every time you need something since she has never checked on us.
Not good for dinner. May come back if in the area.

THE best Peruvian restaurant I’ve been to in southern Florida! The causas were amazing and huge. I ordered the shrimp and olive octopus. The octopus was my favorite and my hubby preferred the shrimp so it worked out perfectly. The tacu tacu con bistec had perfect flavor. The tacu tacu had a nice crunch and creaminess from the mayo coba beans. The steak was very nice too. Our waitress was on point. She heard my fork fall and immediately came over with one! Will definitely be back here.

Amazing food. Freshly made. Homemade taste, good price for the portions received. 100% recommended and i will come back since its very close to my office.

Sometimes I write reviews the day of the experience, typically procured by either an impeccable or twilight zone experience. Then there are those suspect places where I take a month or two of multiple dives before I expose my experience.
Los Kausitas falls under the latter.
So for a few months I’ve been patronizing Los Kausitas for lunch. The lunch special is a real deal because I receive a complimentary soup with any item ordered on the lunch menu, which is typically in the $ 8.50 range. The only thing preventing me from doing cartwheels is that the lunch menu is heavy on the red meat side of the fence (I don’t consume red meat).
Of all the times I’ve been here the only dish I didn’t gravitate to was the Jalea mixtas de moriscos (deep fried battered seafood). But it’s probably not the dishes fault as I’m not fond of battered fried food anyway.
Service is average nothing special and the people who work/​own the place have always been friendly. I’ve always been quite fond of the little dark haired Latina who works the floor.
Sometimes I’ve wondered if I’m coming here for the lunch special, or to trade glances with this attractive spandex wearing spring chicken.
Anyway one day I came in for the lunch special and ordered the pollo saltado $ 8.00 with my typical chicha morada. All was going the normal route, I was munching the complimentary roasted Peruvian corn and sipping on my chicha morada. But when I received the pollo saltado I noticed an odd faint smell, but I brushed it off.
The more I dug into the chicken the more the smell of a demonic presence was invading my olfactory glands.
I immediately realized It was the smell of rotting chicken hidden under the mound of onions and tomato’s.
Not only that but the rice was somewhat hard and tepid, as if it had been refrigerated.
There’s no excuse for any restaurant to give anyone bad food, but even worse there’s no excuse for giving anyone refrigerated rice or rotting meat.
Try settling your restaurant check with monopoly money and see what happens. The customer always has to pay with USD currency in good condition, that’s neither ripped nor torn.
You cannot avoid the smell of rotting chicken when you’re cleaning it (you’re not going to mask the smell with lemon), you can especially smell the rotting aroma when the chicken hits the hot oil on the frying pan.
They obviously made an effort to mask the rotting chicken, but you can’t hide that smell no matter what you do.
I should have sent the food back, but if they’re serving rotting food, God knows what else they are doing. So I just ate what I already ate paid the check and left.
Either way It was good while it lasted and I’m obviously never going to return. I’ll leave two stars for all the previous tasty food I received.
If you want excellent Peruvian head to Pachamamma on Hollywood Beach or to 954 C’viche on Hollywood blvd.

I came here and it was pretty much a hole in the wall. My partner and I ordered «bistec a la pobre» (13.00 $) and I ordered the ceviche. (13.50 $) the food was plenty and VERY filling! The variety was very much there on the menu and the aura of the whole place is very friendly.
For the price, the food is delicious and will make you full! We both enjoyed the meal
Here and we will come back! :)

Best Peruvian place around.
The food here is OH SO GOOD! From my experience, the service was been great each time. We have had a young waiter who is very nice and attentive.
Ceviche was delicious, Causa was delicious, Lomo Saltado has been also very good.
I love that it’s a very small restaurant, it’s very cute and homey. Would recommend!!!
