I went to the one at Staples Center for a work party and it was ok at best. The one in Hollywood tonight had a horrible band. Wait! The worst band I’ve ever heard. I felt like a cat was ripping my eardrums out with their claws! I have a migraine from the loud screeching sound they call music! We ordered $ 50 worth of food including fish tacos, veggie wrap, guacamole dip, and baked cauliflower. It was all cold and disgusting! I hate this place and will never return!!! Staff was rude!

Before coming here know that your clothes cannot be baggy nor anywhere near hood. Bar staff here is great. The bowling experience, while it might take long for a game on the weekend it’s worth it. Nice décor. Parking is a 15 dollar flat rate on weekends. Drinks on tab are good. Good place to go on a weekend if you’re in Hollywood! You might even see a celebrity if your lucky.

I went to this place for Dimebash 2016. Doors were supposed to open at 7pm. It was more like 745 and they had one person checking people in. We didn’t get into the venue until 10pm. At one point they mentioned that they were at capacity and nobody could get let in. They sold tickets for the event and it was sold out and by sold out it was packed assholes to elbows sold out. Now I understand why the fire marshall shuts them down on a regular basis. The best part was when the entire bar staff stopped serving drinks so they could film Dave Grohl do a Pink Floyd cover song. This place is a joke, but I do recommend going to the Power House cocktail lounge across the street instead of waiting in line.

Staff doesn’t care about service or quality. No balls on the ball stands. No bussing of dirty tables. Tourist trap.

Great spot only marred by its high prices and serious understaffing. The game price is per person so the bigger your party the more you’re going to end up shilling out for. The food is ok — can’t comment on the drinks as I only had soft drinks. We went just before Christmas and it was pretty busy but there seemed to be one guy running everything — I felt bad for him as he seemed pretty pissed about it too! All in all, a great destination and a lot of fun but they should rethink their pricing strategy to encourage more families/groups of friends.

It has an interior design that embraces all the aspects of a good social evening. Of course if you are looking for a drink they have a dim lighted bar that is accompanied by music that set the tones. However, since it can pack a great crowd I don’t recommend it to be a solo experience. Go with a group of friends that know how to have a good time. Is is media central for it is a restaurant, a bar, a bowling alley, and a performance venue. You are in for a great day at the lucky strike.

Strictly for the homie in the green beanie working the shoe counter who is so smug he must drive a Prius. Look bro, you’re not rich and famous like you think you’ll be once you make it big in Hollywood. You’re just another Hollywood D-bag who takes 30mins to get his beanie just right. Smile, be nice and remember… you’re working a shoe counter, Al Bundy. Also, who charges a $ 1 for ice!?! You’re the worst!

My billion dollar company paid for a small management holiday party. Everything was great. Beautiful room, enjoyed the bowling and atmosphere. However our waitress was incredibly RUDE and condescending. What a disappointment to an otherwise perfect evening. We came as a small party to test for a potential party of 250 to rent out the space. It really left a bad taste in our mouths. She was very unprofessional. If this is the standard of service it’s unacceptable. Grace ruined an otherwise amazing opportunity of a twice a year function in this establishment. Pity.

They over filled the venue causing it to be shut down. In what was suppose to be a historic night turned out to be a disaster and the David lee Roth tribute got shut down by the fire marshal. We were promised if we left that we’d get to meet Steve vai, Sheehan, and more and have them take pics and sign stuff for us. What we got was the show cancelled and the cops telling us to clear the street. So glad I travelled from out of town… This whole thing could have been fixed by counting at the door or just letting in the people that rsvp’d like they were suppose to. Or shutting down the lanes for people who didn’t care about the show. Nothing was done right and the whole thing was a bust save for the three songs John 5 was able to perform. Definitely won’t be traveling back.

My first time bowling was a bust. Horrible service. I still tipped 20%. They had this horrible band screaming pitchy vocals so pound no one could hear each-other. The host was not kind. The service is beyond sub par. Considering 2 drinks cost almost $ 40 you would think they would be nicer. You would think they would offer a voucher for us to return. HORRIBLE.

Lucky Strike is a bowling alley like no other! Situated in the heart of Hollywood not only can you kick your friends butt at bowling but it also plays host to some of the best musical acts around! Wednesday night’s are by far my favorite– the Lucky Strike«Ultimate Jam Night». For $ 0 entry fee you can see incredible musicians from some of the most famous bands in history jam to some of the best rock n roll hits of the last four decades in a friendly environment all while bowling(if your heart so desires). The Lucky Strike food and drink menu is also off the chain! They have a berry flavored Moscow Mule cocktail which I love and their wings are to die for! Definitely one of the best bars in Hollywood!

We had mean and rude bartender with Iroquois. I came with my friends and service provided by him was terrible. Other stuff is pretty friendly and polite. The bowling by itself is pretty good.

We recently had a company party here. It was great open bar, food being served all evening and all you can bowl for 4 hours! The atmosphere is great, a bit distracting if you are a pro bowler but fun to be around. Parking is in the lot we were there for 4 hours with validation still was $ 4 Go bring a group of up to 10 and take over a couple lanes, you will have a good time.

This interestingly decorated bowling alley is a nice plus to the Hollywood and Highland center. I’ve come here on and off to bid adieu to friends moving from LA, or to just get a drink with people before walking around Hollywood Blvd. This time around, it was the latter. They have bouncers at the entrance checking IDs. No cover charge though, just walk right in and reserve a bowling lane, or hang out the bar(which is what I usually do). I ordered a redbull vodka, and it was pretty strong. My friend’s drink was pretty strong as well. I’m guessing this is why they charge higher than usual prices for their drinks. No complaints. I’ve actually only bowled once here. At that time, my buddy was moving to another state for pharmacy school, and we played a good game. Somehow, we ended up taking each others turns, and we ended in a tie. It was a funny conclusion to the evening.

Talk about unique venue. The kind of place you can expect to bump into hip cool celebrities. Not a lot of pretended. Good sized bar with plenty of servers to keep the party going. Fun Bowling area that makes for a well rounded night.

Lucky strike is definitely the type of bowling alley that you have to go to at least once for the experience! It’s so much more than just a place to bowl. It’s a bar, restaurant, performance venue, and a hang out. It definitely has that typical Hollywood vibe but it’s a fun place and it’s really cool to go see a band there. I had great drinks, awesome food, and a fun time bowling. I love how they have couches instead of bowling seats it’s much more comfortable and homey. Lucky Strike is a fun place to go with a group of people and you can hang out before and after you bowl at the bar. It’s a fun place, I would Definitely come back!

I love Lucky Strike. The Wednesday night jams are why I am proud to be a Los Angeles native. I’ve seen reviews criticizing drink and food prices and can only conclude the complainers tend to hang out in Elks Halls and Happy Hours in the suburbs; perhaps that’s where they should stay. Service can be spotty but I fault the boorish behavior of my fellow drink seekers over the bartenders –it’s tough to do one’s job when the customer with whom you just made eye contact is jostled out of the way. I understand that some folks are born miserable and do their best to maintain that state but to declare the bathroom area dangerous… that’s really overreaching as the hallway is well lit and heavily populated. Finally…the bitching about a dress code — my friends and I are thrilled there is a dress code. You can’t set the tone of a place without setting a dress code. Once a venue — bowling alley, bar, or restaurant — surrenders to the dirty tee shirt crowd to make a buck, they lose control of the environment. If I want to be elbowed away from a bar by folks in flip flops, slogan tees, and board shorts purchased at a mall in Omaha, I can always return to the Rainbow or maybe check out a TGIF happy hour. Ignore the naysayers, Lucky Strike is a great place to rev up your rock and roll engines, relax with a drink or put your friends to shame with your bowling skills.

I thought I hated bowling, I was wrong. Apparently I like bowling, I plan to do it more. This place is fun! I went on Wednesday because my friend was playing. Such a great time. Wednesday’s a bunch of different notable musicians get together to jam to classic rock and roll songs. It’s not a cheap place to bowl so come here when you want to have party fun with a group of friends, save casual bowling fun for a different alley. Bowling is high and so are the drinks. They have a dress code. Basically dress like you care/thought about it. I wouldn’t wear shorts unless your a girl and they are leather paired with high heeled boots. Got it? That same outfit might also work for a guy but don’t quote me. I will come back, I need to practice my bowling anyway

Pros: Great music/DJ Friendly front desk girl Parking is validated for 2 hours Cons: Terrible service So-so drinks that are overpriced Poor selection of bowling balls. It’s apparent you aren’t meant to bowl here. Did I mention terrible service? We paid extra for a «package» that included a bunch of food platters and AYCD non-alcoholic beverages. When we first arrived, we had no idea who would be serving us. I saw a woman that popped over but didn’t really say anything to us until she noticed a few girls coming back from getting their drinks from the bar. She told us she would help us and that we could go ahead and just order our drinks from her. Great! Except she all but disappeared after the group next to us got fancy bottle service. We actually saw her sitting with the group several times. It took us a while to even get out of there when we were done. Busboys are surly and robotic… one guy took away a platter of tots still half full(all in the paper cone they serve it in)…didn’t bother checking at all. Very random since our table was full of other plates. I tried to stop him but he ran away before I could get to him(couldn’t hear my shouting over the music). Hang out here, by all means, but I recommend not forking over wads of cash for sub-par service.

RACK ‘EMFORTHISSTROKER, PLEASE! BACKGROUND: Our Story: Lucky Strike 2003 was the end of an era for the iconic Hollywood Star Lanes, an institution that served Hollywood for 43 years and was home to the filming of «The Big Lebowski.» In March it was leveled to make way for a school. But just as the door to one icon closed, another opened. In April of that year Lucky Strike debuted its first location in Hollywood. Wanting to pay homage to its predecessor, Lucky Strike purchased Lane #7 from Star Lanes and made it Lucky Strike Hollywood’s bar. It’s been good luck ever since. Ten years and multiple locations later Lucky Strike continues to roll its way across the country. — See more at: STATS: Mon –Wed: 12pm — 1am Thurs — Fri: 12pm — 2am Sat — Sun: 11am — 2am Up to two hours with validation $ 1 every 15 minutes after the 2 hours with validation Flat rate of $ 10 after 10pm from Thurs-Sat. 21 and over after 8 p.m. Dress code enforced after 7 p.m. 12 Lanes Private Room Lounge Pool Table Classic Arcade Games Photo Booth 7 Large Projection Screens Bottle Service Available Check out their website for more EXPERIENCE: Getting in and out of Hollywood on any day at any time, I find, is always an unpleasant experience. However, to hang with a bud, it’s typically worth it. Meeting up at Lucky Strike was one of those worth wild times. I blame Google maps for the six right turns it made me take before taking matters into my own hands and finding the Lucky Strike parking structure on my own. As I walked in, I wondered if I was in the right place. The bouncer at the front door, the low lighting inside, and the loud music playing overhead made me feel as though I was walking into a nightclub. However, the clean and modern décor with a variety of lounging furniture and a clear path-of-travel made it easy to see the bowling lanes. Which were nice an shiny, great high speed ball travel. Going to the ally early on a weeknight definitely has it’s benefits. There was only a small group several lanes away and us. The alley was fully equipped with computerized scoring, pin set-up, ball return, table for food and drinks, and a lounger. Our server was friendly and served us well. The bites and booze came well prepared and quickly. We indulged in a couple skewers of chicken with a teriyaki sauce. The chicken was meh, nothing to drool over, the sauce added some flavor, but I wouldn’t order it again, nor suggest anyone else does. Lucky Strike is a fun place to hang out with friends whether it be at the bar, or bowling. And it’s good know that they offer their space for private events, including fundraising, team building, social and corporate events, etc… I know many other Unilocalers didn’t rate Lucky Strike very well, but I had a fairly good experience, and will probably go back one day/night.
