Stopped by for an early dinner here as we were in the area. Ordered the Roasted Chicken based upon Unilocal reviews and pictures. The chicken was dry and overcooked – even the thigh, no crispy skin at all. It was a very warm day and although they poured us cold water, no ice! During the course of the meal we had to ask for ice 3 times! Which was brought out 1 cup at a time lol! Great location in Hollywood though, very central.

Cute find in the middle of busy Hollywood. Delicious, melt in your mouth food. Trendy décor. Worth a try! The bread pudding is a MUST!

The Pims cup left something to be desired. The crab cakes were good but portions are small. It was quiet for a Sunday afternoon but started to fill up quickly as it got closer to dinner, so head in early. Atmosphere was not bad, but I wouldn’t say there was anything really special about this place.

Stopped by for brunch this morning before work. I was very impressed with the brunch menu right away. A great selection of eclectic offerings that have obvious comfort food roots. And the«build your own» bloody mary bar is simple but delicious. I had the Breakfast Quesadilla with grilled chicken breast, jack cheese and aneheim peppers. Wow! The service is also on point without being overbearing. I’ve been here for dinner a number of times and always enjoyed myself!

First time here. Recommended by a local business that we were using close by. We had an hour and this was the first place they recommended for dinner and I can see why. You walk in and and you get greeted immediately. We sat at the bar and Noah our bartender was personable and professional. Highly recommend the cheese plate! Had the skirt steak which was delicious. Highly recommend it.

Good American bistro food all around! The braised short rib was super tender! I loved it! Probably too heavy for lunch though, more for dinner I’d say. Lobster ravioli, on point! Loved the creamy sauce on top.

They ran out of Champagne. It was supposed to be bottomless mimosas. Not cool. Not cool at all.

Saturday morning randomly walking around for a trendy /hip boutiquey eatery we were so thrilled to come across magnolia. Brunch menu was oozing with multiple delicious choices. French toast with Blueberry’s was to die for. Service was 2nd to none. Both servers checked on us regularly, Hillary even wrote us a map /list of places to tour and check out as we were asking questions being fresh tourists. Plus they had a all you can drink brunch special, that’s the beez knees. Food, Service, Atmosphere this place hit a home run!

If your goal is to go somewhere and be well served by a polite and attentive wait staff AND to have a meal that is superb, this is your place. I honestly can not think of anything negative about Magnolia and would recommend it to all. The food is «honest» meaning that you actually can tell what you are eating and how much time and effort was taken in meticulously preparing it. The concept is unique and original — but the quality is timeless. I recommend that Roast Chicken. It was flawlessly prepared. Salad, soup and deserts were equally well prepared and everything came out to the table promptly and properly. There is on-site parking and it is centrally located at Sunset and Vine.

Food was good. Staff was very nice and accommodating. He had dinner prior to heading to the Pantages. Grilled marinated steak and fries — yum! They lose one star because when we walked in the restaurant smelled like a kitty litter box! Strange I know! But we entered from the parking lot side. But dont let that throw you.

The restaurant has a great atmosphere and a nice cozy bar. The service was great. I had a minor issue with my dish but they were very accommodating and Will our server was awesome. Very polite and you could feel that he cared about your experience. Defiantly a place I will be returning too. The lobster ravioli was the best I ever had and the scallops were perfectly cooked.

The food here is absolutely, flat out delicious. The servers are friendly and prompt, the interior is quite comfortable and again — the food is wonderful. I have quite a few allergies and they were extremely accommodating with trying to make sure I had something I could eat. I wound up with their onion soup, roast chicken and some greens. The chicken was completely amazing and the soup very flavorful. I’d definitely go there again.

I tried out this local last night and was fairly pleased with my no frills Friday night visit to Magnolia. The interior is pretty sullen and not that uplifting. Service is good here and they are attentive to your ever need — so no complain there. We started off with the Tuna tartare and the Mac & cheese, which we both that were great. The Tuna tartare is pretty awesome here and full of flavour. For our mains I went with the the crab cake starters and my friend got the rice balls. Both of these options were poor choices as the taste in both was slightly unpleasant.

Seated on the patio: smells like cat piss. Table cloth had stains. We asked to move inside. Ordered. 15 mins later the waiter comes back and they are out of what I ordered. I order something else. It’s delivered 10 mins after everyone else. And it’s cold. They took it back and reheated it. Waiter seems annoyed now. Don’t waste your money. The place isn’t what it used to be.

Went for date night right before watching a musical at the Pantages — walking distance to the theater as well as many bars and lounges. Made reservations through Open Table and they seated us right away. Their fresh tuna appetizer with guacamole was on point. Would definitely recommend their roasted chicken– SOOOO tender and juicy. Overall good ambience and friendly staff.

Went here today for my husbands birthday since we were in the area. We got such great service and the food was really good. We shared the burger and I did not have to put any condiments on it because it was so good on its own. Best bun with really tasty fresh tomato and good quality meat. We also got the spinach artichoke dip which was just ok. We ordered the bread pudding for dessert which was super easy but could have used some more sauce spooned onto the top or a scoop of ice cream or something. Can’t wait to go back as there was so, so many things that looked good in the menu. Next time I want to try their brunch and when I’m not pregnant I’d love to have a few drinks. The friendly waiter and great service made it a great trip and we will definitely be back!!!

The food was delicious and the place is pleasant. We ordered 2 cocktails and both of them were really good(with a lot of alcohol but u know, it was okay). We had to wait 30 mins for the food so if u re starving, u should expect a longer wait time since everything is freshly cooked. Loved it and definitely will come back.

Our experience here was great! The service was on point, the waitress came just the right amount times to make sure everything is well, the employees here in general were very attentive and kind. The food is absolutely mouth watering and very well priced for location & quality. I recommend this place to anyone who is in the Hollywood area craving some good meat

Went there before going to the Pantages, and while on Sunset it’s only a short walk away from the theater. As we walked in three ladies were leaving and I shared I had never been and asked how the place was and they enthusiastically said«amazing,» and very good it was. From the burgers to lobster ravioli everyone enjoyed their food, the waitstaff was worthy of a 20% tip and the atmosphere nice; while not crowded at 6 when we got there, it filled up when we left at 7:30. The only downside was that they didn’t have as many salad dressings as one of our party asked for, but we’ll be telling friends about Magnolia for the next time they go to the Pantages.

You MUST have their banana pudding. If it wasn’t for carbs, I’d probably be there every day getting the same thing. This boutique place has a lot to offer. Everything from full cakes to bite size desserts, they have it all.

Although I enjoyed my experience here, the prices were a bit too expensive. My meal(scallops with asparagus and pea risotto and a glass of wine) came out to $ 44! Our waiter was super nice and friendly, and gave us good recommendations for our dishes, which I was happy about. It was a bit weird that it was Saturday night and the place was not at all busy. The food itself was good, but the portions were small for the prices. I would recommend that they lower their prices.

PARKING Definitely plan on doing valet if you come at night. It’s $ 7 while the public parking in the area starts at $ 5. ENVIRONMENT Great indoor area with a bar and a narrow patio out back. ENTREE Short Rib Grilled Cheese — OMG this is amazing. If you want to splurge, just do it! Roasted Chicken — breast and thighs! Amazing and juicy. Highly recommended. The Brussel sprouts are nice and buttered. Same for the asparagus I ordered in lieu of the the mashed potatoes.

I came here with my parents to check out their DineLA, and it was bleh. The place is pretty small, and the ceilings are quite low. So it gets pretty loud in there really quick, even when the place isn’t half full. The food was not that great. I would grade it right below mediocre. For the appetizers, we had the tuna tartare, magnolia salad, and the cocktail shrimp. The soy sauce mixed in the tartare was too salty. The magnolia salad could have used a tad more dressing to make it less dry. And the cocktail shrimp was just grilled shrimp on skewers with cocktail sauce on the side. Nothing exciting. For the entrees, we had the scallops on a bed of asparagus risotto, roast chicken, and the short rib pappardelle. The 2 scallops on the plate tasted like they were frozen for years and then defrosted and tossed in way too much baking soda to tenderize it. To make it worse, they were overcooked. The risotto was undercooked and super dry. The roast chicken was a bit dry. The short rib in the pasta was overstewed to the point where it was stringy. The meat, like the scallops, were tasteless as if it were frozen for years. The pappardelle pasta was dry and hard(and not hard like al dente). For dessert, we got the mint chocolate chip ice cream sandwich, the caramel ice cream sandwich, and the flourless chocolate cake. The cookies for the ice cream sandwich were way too hard. When you bite down on it, all the ice cream comes squeezing out the sides before you even break off the cookie. And the ice cream in the sandwich came half melted by the time it got to the table. The flourless cake was super sweet and dry. I had one bite and had to wash it down with a whole glass of water. Service was pretty slow when the place was only half full. The food came out really slow. We waited about 30 minutes after we ordered before the appetizers even came out. Overall, I won’t be coming back. Food was no good, and looking at the regular menu prices, its quite pricey for subpar food. Parking: Valet $ 7. For some reason when we got there, there were several cars parked where the valet was and the valet was nowhere to be found. I ended up having to go around the block as there was no place for me to pull up and double parking on Sunset Blvd is not a very good idea.

HMMmmmmmm… hmm hmm 3.5 stars? My friends and I love trying out new restaurants in LA, and there’s no better time to explore than Dine LA Restaurant Week right?! Actually no that’s easily arguable, but yolo. Personally I think Dine LA can be a hit or miss. depending on the restaurant, it can be a showcase of some of its best dishes or… it can just be whatevers. This case might be in the middle. So almost all of us opted for the Dine LA menu. I went with the: tuna tartare(app), seared scallops(entrée), and key lime pie(dessert). Everything was looking pretty good after we placed our orders, but it was actually a bit chaotic from there. My friend’s risotto croquette app came out(after we waited forever)… he waited for everyone else’s apps to come out, but after a few minutes we felt bad because it might not be crispy/fresh by the time everything else came out, so we just insisted that he ate it. So he did. He finished. I didn’t actually time this, but I think about 15 minutes later, everyone else’s appetizers came out… except one. So everyone finished their apps, and we were still missing one shrimp cocktail. Anyway, after another 10 minutes it finally came out. I mean ok we’re all aZn(jk we had one white guy wif us) and used to shitty service in aZN restaurants and if Ima be real we’re all really big assholes to each other like forreal it’s so shocking if a new individual comes to hang out with us because we’re so mean to each other like are we enemies or friends or what, but like… the ONE nice thing we do, is we always wait for everyone to get their food before we dig in. The ONE thing. Really. Anyway, the point of that super long run on sentence is that timing is important. So my tuna tartare was actually VERY good. Super fresh and flavorful, and the crispy taro chips was a delicious scooping apparatus. Just wish we didn’t have to wait 45 minutes for it. The entrees actually came out at the same time for the most part. Now my seared scallops… I don’t think they were seared enough. What I imagined was scallops seared on a super HOT surface so that the tops and bottoms are slightly caramelized and crispy, but the inside is fork tender. But they were slightly rubbery and soft with no crisp, and not really chewy but definitely not fork tender. Flavorwise it was ok. The pea risotto it came with was delicious though. The dessert… ok their timing got messed up again because everyone’s desserts came out at different times again. My key lime pie was delicious! Super lime-y but just perfect when eaten with the right amount of cream. So overall? Well 3.5 stars is about right. I think for the most part, people enjoyed their food. My entrée could use some work, and couple other things too here and there. I think the biggest thing we had to complain about was timing. It generally took forever for the food to come out, and when they did, they came out at different times. Nearly ruined our friendship! So the dinner started at 6:30PM and I believe we left around 9 something PM… so nearly 3 hours for dinner(and we were all starving and not slow eaters so that’s not because we were savoring our time and soaking up each other’s awesomeness).

So we just finished up wicked at the Pantages and wanted to do a late dinner here. According to their hours, they’re open until 11pm. But when we walked in, the server came out from behind the bar, stopped to «whisper» to a woman seated at the bar before telling us they were closed. I just think it’s bad service to clearly lie to us about being closed because they didn’t think we were worth enough business to keep the kitchen open. There were several tables occupied so they were obviously still serving. We were there 4 years ago for the NYE prix fixe and it was great. Clearly things have changed in the last few years. We went two doors down to the Melt and gave them a ton of business. Your loss, Magnolia!

Always pass by Magnolia and have been to pretty much every spot that surrounds Magnolia, somehow missing this place entirely. It’s a really nice space and is bigger inside than it looks from the outside. There’s also a room in the back with a huge table that you could have a private dinner party or something at, I would imagine. Or if you’re super famous and need your privacy some all of your adoring fans and stalkers, but I wouldn’t know about those kind of problems, plus I imagine a super famous person is probably not reading Unilocal reviews. It was an unusually hot night in January, gotta love LA, so we opted for a seat outside. Our server was very nice and attentive. I wasn’t super into the main entrée options, so I opted for the tuna tartar with taro chips and the mac and cheese appetizers. Both were very good and good-sized portions as well. My husband ordered the steak sandwich, which actually looked pretty good and I’m not a sandwich person, though I am known to occasionally woof down a fluffer nutter with reckless abandon. He did say that it was over cooked and missing a bit of steak, but there was a hanger steak option, so maybe you’d be better off going that route. All in all it’s a nice option if you’re in the area, or going for a movie at the Arc Light. They also advertised a weekend brunch there, so maybe that’s worth checking out. As far as parking, they have valet, but we found a metered spot right across the street. Not sure it’s a place I would necessarily crave, but then again I crave everything that kills me, but it’s a great option for the area for sure and the service was worth coming back for.

Had a really great time at Magnolia. Our waiter made the night… and the Key Lime pie was unforgettable. First of all it was hell driving down WeHo from the south bay area. When we arrived they had only one valet guy working so we had to wait a while out in the cold. We made reservations through Unilocal so it was easy getting seated… although they weren’t super busy the night that we went. Our waiter was just wonderful and I feel horrible for not remembering his name. Some of the appetizers were a bit on the pricey side. We were going to order crab cakes but he told us it was only 2 small pieces for $ 13. We finally opted for the sweet potato fries and brussels sprouts(although my roast chicken came with brussels sprouts). Speaking of… my roast chicken was amazing, perfectly crisp and so moist & tasty. My friends ordered the grilled salmon, steak frites and scallops. I had a small bite of everything and they were all good. My favorite of course was the roast chicken. Our desserts were the ice cream sandwich oatmeal cookies and key lime pie. On the menu, they downplayed the key lime pie and didn’t mention anywhere that it was infused with lavender. After having a bite of it, I was seriously in heaven. MUSTTRY! The bill came to about $ 200 for the 4 of us… which included a few glasses of male, unlimited refills of coffee and tip. *RECOMMENDED*
