The staff at this restaurant was extremely rude. I do not recommend this place at all. The guy standing outside wouldn’t even give us a water cup for our dog.

Just about the worst place you could pick in Hollywood. We should have known but there were seats in the sun so we went for it. The bar is filthy, the drinks even worse. Ordered a mojito. It was $ 12 and they don’t use fresh mint. Yes you read that correctly. A $ 12 mojito with no mint. It is nothing but sour mix with what looks like a cigarette crumbled in the bottom. I am suspicious this place is just a front operation. Scary.

This USE to be one of my favorite places on hollywood beach. They had reasonably priced for and the people there were very nice. NOW the owner with the long hair acts like you should just pay these crazy prices for mediocre food and service. I ALWAYS order the Jalejah (Im sure the spelling is wrong) which is fried seafood with some pickled onions and veggies on top. I asked for extra onions and of course I told him I didn’t mind paying. When I got the food he charged me $ 26 bucks for one order. He ended up charging me $ 6 for extra freakin onions. Also there was only 1 shrimp 1 mussel and mostly Yuca, which are pretty much spanish french fries in the mixed seafood platter. I asked him if he added more onions and he gave me an attitude as if this is what I’m getting so deal with it. I then told him that the ONLY reason why my wife and I picked the spot in the sand right in front of the restaurant is because we loved the food. The food is now fluffed with filler and they have raised their prices 2 times over the original. They are also only open from like 4 to the evening. I think they have given up on themselves. But thats the last time I go there EVER!!! The people that own the restaurant are usually more preoccupied with arguing with each other and constantly fixing their tiki hut since there are always holes in the roof. If there was a rating under 1 star I would have put it. THEY SUCK AND YOU SHOULD NEVER GO THERE!!!

The WORST SERVICE EVER! The owner makes water down drinks and charge you $ 14 for a frozen drink. They put more ice then alcohol in your drink. The wind blew my entire drink and instead of offering me another drink. The owner comes back with my check instead. As if I was ready to leave. This place is the worst on the beach.

Worst service I’ve received since moving to Florida. The owner sucks, the drinks are watered down and over priced I paid $ 36.50 for two frozen watered down drinks and nasty fries. The wind blew our drinks and food away they didn’t offer anything but pushed us out of the way to clean up the spill. Do NOT go here it’s a waste of money and time. It’s only 2 people working there because I over heard the owner say he don’t wanna hire anyone else, too much drama. Which also means horrible service and there was hair in my drink.

If Unilocal had negative 4 stars, McGowan Bar Grill would be the ONE. A MUST avoid at all costs
Watery Over prices drinks, Worst service on the Beach. owners hates the Hollywood Crowd & he is just waiting to get bought, they are closed most of the time, so when open, Food is certainly not fresh, & I m sure they are serving food way past their expiration Date. back kitchen & garbage are crawling with roaches. I have seen owners dumped used Kitchen’s oil in city drain. Owner so cheap he can’t even hire waitresses & pay$ 4.99/month for pandora. one so you will get the worst «has been» music radio station with commercial with the worst food, worst drinks, worst service on the Beach… In 1 sentence, this Business MUST GO! Anywhere else, the Joint would be closed.
I got Guests who got sick 3 days after eating burger & fish there…

Bad experience on this Sunday night. APRIL 27, 2015. I saw smoothies /​Daiquiri being made at the tiki bar. I pointed to the drink the 2 guys were sipping. Told Bar tender my boyfriend wants one and I will taste his before I order one too. Bartender makes it but not with the Overflow of Drink as a twist. I asked him, why didn’t u make ours like theirs? He said they asked for it special. I said OK make mine too. I had pointed to those exactly when i ordered. Can you add the extra from the blender on top to add height and a twist? He said no and dumped it in sink. I said OK were leaving. I’m glad I didn’t order 2 drinks. And he replied, Just leave”. OK sure we did !!!

$ 24 for two mixed drinks! Put 25 on the bar and the bartender did even bring back the change. This place needs to just go away !! Make room for a place that cares about the clientele it serves.

Service was the worst. Food was slightly mediocre, but nothing made this experience worse than the service. I was ignored several times while asking for normal service like silverware and drinks. I do not recommend this place.

A frozen virgin mojito made with dried mint and big chunks of ice and a single beer totaled $ 12. At an hour when the rest of the beach is featuring Happy Hour specials. Too many other places to go to bother stopping here.
The top of the bar has big chunks of broken tile missing. This is a great location, wasted.

Not worth the money keep walking you will find many great spots to eat down the beach!
Caesar salad was horrible tiny portion and way over priced !!
Sat for a long time with empty plates finally left some money on the table and then the waiter ran up to us and informed us of our $ 80 bill! For 4 lunches!

Nice little tiki bar with a really good STRONG drink! Jordan makes a good drink! Well worth the price, and the view is priceless!

This is the WORST restaurant every. The food didnt worth the price and was awful, the owner and the waitress were pain in the ass. DONT GO THERE PLEASE

Expensive, food is not worth the price. Customer service is really bad. Restrooms are horrible, dirty, yuck. Never coming back!

A nice little relaxing Tiki bar with great drinks.
It had been a few years since we hit this place up, but we decided to head over here to see if it was still there. Thankfully it was. It’s not crowded usually unless the rain hits and all the people on the beach run for cover. Be cool and buy a drink if you find yourself here during a storm. This is a small business, not a shelter.
This spot is really great for people watching and there is always a great game of doubles volleyball going on the beach. The bartender we had was there for over 10 years, so he’s wasn’t as impressed with the sand court action as I was. LOL.
So, I thought this spot was as good as any to try my first mojito, and I am glad I picked this place. The bartender takes pride in the drinks he makes and after my first sip I was undecided. After a couple more sips, I liked the minty refreshing taste. I could tell this was a powerful drink (at least for me) so I sipped carefully. I was able to compare my drink here to another one I tried at another spot up the broadwalk, and I think I chose wisely. The mojito here was superior to the one I had at the other place.
The sad thing is that this bar closes early, these days. I don’t think the restaurant side is open at all anymore, but you can order food off the menu in the bar area. We have never eaten here, but we usually have some beers and watch the tourists, runners, skaters and volleyballers. It’s all stimulating as the nice gentle ocean breeze sweeps through the bar area.

Bad experience at this place, the jalea was poorly made I am a Peruvian and I know how the jalea is, the lemon were old and when we request for a fresh one, the waitress was rude and told us the lemons that they have are the same. Horrible attitude toward us the customers. We’re never going back to that place, they don’t deserve any stars. Everything is overpriced and they lied to the tourist nothing is fresh.

THE worst place on the beach… when the owner bothers to open. What a joke. This should be, and could be a gem, but the owner is more interested in funneling money than actually having a nice beach bar/​restaurant. Sad. Sad. Sad.

Just wanted one quick cocktail after a day at the beach…
Sadly, I would have made a better frozen daiquiri from 7-​eleven slurpee and rum from liquor shop. The $ 14 strawberry daiquiri at McGowan’s was sweet and weak — made me wonder just what I paid for.
Service was slow, the servers were confused. I could’ve walked off without paying and they may not have noticed.
This place has so much potential but right now, stay away please.

…needless to say, I did not stick around to sample their food.

Do NOT come here. Cool atmosphere. How can you not? They’re a tiki bar on the beach. However, there’s a reason they don’t list drink prices. Why wouldn’t I want to pay FOURTEEN dollars per drink???
When I asked the ‘manager’ if this was correct, she couldn’t believe that I would even ask that. I literally live down the street and will NEVER COME BACK.

Okay: $ 8.50 for a tiny plastic cup of cheap booze. Rude bartender. No happy hour specials. Wouldn’t take a credit card for less than $ 10. Filthy bathrooms. Steer clear of this place! Yes it has a very large tiki roof and an appealing oceanfront location, but that is where the positive attributes end. I honestly cannot believe this dump is still open. I wouldn’t eat the food here if they paid me. YUCK.
