You can find hidden gems anywhere. Even a place that’s been there all along in your backyard. Right on the touristy strip of the Hollywood Boardwalk.
I was looking for breakfast and cheated/​assisted with Unilocal.As a good man Glenn said in a review once it’s nice to go off the Unilocal beaten path but more often than not your better served checking who is doing it right.
Here it is.
Quickly I realized that the lunch menu far exceeded anything on the brunch so we changed our approach.
The lunch menu beckoned.
Along with the main guy/​owners assist we peperoni di Salsiccia, with meatballs (off menu).
He kept throwing in things for free (bottle of water, meatballs, 1 cannoli) and it was just from his apparent love to make all the diners happy. It was a packed house, tough to be a seat. The pasta was increíble!
Did I mention the cannoli? If you know your cannoli’s you would have to agree this one is very very good. We had a pudding that was sweet and relentlessness to please your taste buds.
Service, entrée, view, and desert: hit the beach and go Italian!

Awesome desserts for an unbelievable price! First, I got a caramel cake for the road and went back a couple days later to try a chocolate one. I’m still stunned they’re only $ 4 each! The owner is also the sweetest guy.

Excellent Italian food and device, homemade taste — we got free extra food and deserts and bottles of wine! Nicest people.

Pretty average shore Italian place. We had a veggie pizza, which had a bottom that was soaking in juices, and pasta with meatballs. Neither was anything to write home about. Desserts were a little better than the mains but service was above average as the owner was charming.

I don’t know if this was by design but based on the good reviews we tried to check out on a Tuesday night and place is completely closed. Doesn’t even look like it exists for that matter. No signs, telephone number, website, nothing. Neighboring restaurants had no clue it was there either. Oh well… On to Rocco’s for pizza instead.

This place is a gem among many subpar restaurants along the boardwalk. The smell alone as you enter the restaurant is enchanting. I have to say that I loved the small family owned restaurant atmosphere.
The owner of the place was just great. He even spoke English, Italian, and French. In the short span of one hour I had already seen people from all over the world in this tiny restaurant. It is a very laid back environment, perfect for enjoying lunch and admiring the view. I hate to be overdramatic but the pizza was one of the best I’ve had.
Leaving I couldn’t help but smile at how lovely my experience was.

Authentic and delicious! The service was great. They even threw in a free dessert for us! If you are thinking about trying this place, DO IT!

Great food! Better than any other restaurant on the beach. Run by a family that actually cares about their clientele.

Just came here, doors were opened I came in and after 10 mins of waiting they told me «I don’t know if it s open or closed» and I left.
That’s not nice.

Only because the owner is a sweetie. The food on the other hand was very sub par. I trusted the Unilocalers who must never get good service and good food. But we went with his starter suggestions of fried zucchini and tomatoe balls that were over cooked in the fryer with little taste. The calamari was also over cooked and very small portion. He did however give us a free beer because he seated all tables at once and was not as attentive as I know he would have liked to have been… Did not have any pizza or pasta which I hope would have been better. But the appetizers
left a bad taste in our mouths .skip this and find something else.

Unbelievable! The reviews are 100% accurate. The owner is one of the nicest men you will ever meet. His level of service is over the top! Some of the very best Italian food I have ever eaten. If your in Hollywood you must dine there.

Excellant food, Great view and a wonderful owner ! Pasta in most Italian restaurants is over cooked, not here, al dente as it should be ! The chicken was tender and grilled vegetables were not overcooked. The owner is genuine and really cares about his customers !

The owner is passionate and friendly. Pizza is excellent. Pasta, though not homemade is solid. Not many restaurants make their own pasta in S. Florida. The pizza is homemade dough and fresh toppings and sauce were

Great pasta and sauce!!! Just had the spaghetti quattro formaggi, it was simply perfect!!! Also tried the garlic bread, which was a little too big for only one, but for two or three, is perfect and with the right amount of garlic.
I am definetively coming back!

Sapore di Mare is by far the best italian place in all of Hollywood Beach. The owner is great, and takes personal care of each guest. If you want something that’s not on the menu, no problem, they’ll do it. Great food at a very reasonable price.

Great little spot. The owner was so awesome to us. Food was great and tons of it. Right on the boardwalk. Easy to miss, very casual, but totally worth stopping by. Don’t forget to save room for some tiramisu.

Beautiful beach view, excellent service, delicious food.
We are here last night. We had a pizza and 4 cheese penne pasta baked in a red wine sauce. It was amazing! We are considering eating here again during our stay.
The owner/​cook/​waiter was very nice and helpful. He basically told me what to order and it was great!

Local flavor with old world taste. Hospitality abounds here don’t miss it, you could walk right past but look for the side walk tables. Great view of the boardwalk and people watching from your table.

I was visiting Hollywood for a conference but wanted to get a bit of the local feel. And get purify he hotel. We took a $ 1 ride on the Hollywood trolley (really a small bus like a rental car shuttle would have) and walked down the esplanade.
Saw that this place had great reviews so I thought I’d try it out. It gets 3 stars for the seafood spaghetti and salad. It got 5 stars for the owner. He was such a nice man. Happy, animated and very accommodating. Every time he came to the table he made me smile.
Overall it’s a great place to hang out and watch the people and take in the beach and ocean view.
